I got it done with some playing around and ended up with 3 different builds now so im going to go with most dmg and less end usuage. all resistance a roughly the same and defenses are the same. the difference is $$$$$$$$$

  2. I havnt been in the pvp forums for awhile now but I recently pulled my claw regen out of retirement, I built him i14 and he was pretty much undefeated in fite club. Only one brute beat him consistantly FM/WP. As for other regens they never beat me. 2days ago I went into RV there was a KM/Regen beating everyone... Thought id dust of the claws and see how I would fair against the new powerset, I was.defeated in 2minutes, the dpa is stupid and since the recharge is fast compared to say BS it makes the spiked dmg masive dps. That would probably be my best bet for a fc toon. That or a very well built elec melee regen.
  3. this is what I love a about the forums, I had no idea DB had mitigation, well that made my choice easier. I had 2 concepts to go with but preferred my DB story. I was playing around with mids and found that I could get more out of DB than Elec melee, nothing as good a FM but much better than EM. Tankyou all for the input much appreciated
  4. What do you mean by lighter? Was going over my mids build and the dps does seem quite decent. And there are ok aoe's my only fear is mitigation. Tossing up between dual blades or elec melee???

  7. ok, this a expensive build for Elec/Elec but mite give an idea on what to look for in futre. You just need change your melee to energy and move some slots around. Also granted Energize isnt slotted the best but was nessicary for Soft cap def to S/L/E/N. Im sure there are other out there that could improve on this build but it is my current elec armour build and it goes quite good.

  8. I've been at the inlaws for christmas the last few.days so I dont have mids on hand, ill look at your build tonight and see what changes id make unless desch beats me to it?
  9. How is buffing defense "gimping ur build?" I roll a DA thts soft capped to s/l/e/n and my recharge, hp and dps is fine. I recommend aiming towards it one day. All my tanks survive like they do because of defense of coarse if you team alot you can use your teams for a crutch. Trollers always make you that much better but I solo alot so I play +8+4 alot and I do fine, never really die and get lots of drops

    The way I pay for most of my toons is now hero merits, every 2 days you get 1 and it cost 2 for lotg +7.5% recharge worth 200mill, get 10 and that =2bill happy days

The only reason I suggested it as a toggle or "hybrid" is for the reason, that since the crash is so sever I build my tank to handle all situations without it, id only ever use unstoppable if I cant handle an av's aggro alone, since I can tank all but malaise and LR in a STF alone id use unstoppable but its not like tthe team will kill the red and blue tower in time meaning the power is fail. What good is a click power you dont really need wen you can io a build to tank everything without it. Back in the so days it was viable bit now outdated (of coarse this is my opinion) im sure there are others that disagree? HYBRID FTW

The higher your max health the higher your regen, if you can get perma dp and u slot your regen bonuses correctly with +% heal then your regen sits on roughly 55hp/sec which is more than enough so I would try and go for more recharge personally than after ive goten perma dp start buffing regen

  14. I got a typical INV/SS and I only soft capp defense at 3 enemies + but really it doesnt matter, I mean I built more for recharge so id sit on perma dull pain... That keeps me on 45hp/sec but then you add the +regen from numina and double slot it for the extra 10% my regen buffs too 55 (thats with pusical perfection aswell) not that I got pp for regen more rec, due to the new rage crash. Anyway, this way with the regen it only matters to have soft cap defense at 10+ enemies which is what I get, 3- enemies wont matter because of my regen, and its not like ill ever take on a AV solo. Also unstoppable shuld be a toggle not click power.... The crash sucks if you have any more questions feel free to pm me
  15. Ok so here's the thing, smashing/lethal/energy/negative def need to be soft capped, achieve that and the ready is easy. My experience so far running my new DA tank on my new account is as follows. (btw I can solo +4+8 all enemies except achronos for some reason?) Dark regen is what makes the build, your damage isnt really a major' factor considering you need allocate alot of slotting on def. But once slotted very godly! (wish the devs designed a holy armour) like I sed you can become uber with da, not even my invun Mr Olympus compares and he is well built. I would even go as far as to say da once io'd is the best tank AT around. Kinetic combats and eradications are very expensive but well worth it. Also look me up for a pvp build if you need one? Thats my.niche
  16. So heres the down lo. Elec/elec,one tough AT to work with but do able, like all toons there is no bad AT just badley built. In which case you need to go for funtionality instead of power. Ur io selection is important here. Purps arnt really going to b ur friend here. I say since ur resistance is high for energy, I would focus on smashing and lethal defense
  17. I really enjoy melee, more of a tank fan tho... My alts are in my signature. My ill/rad phantom alchemist is one mean team player but i really love tanking more tham anythimg. Somthing about holding aggro all by urself rules
  18. Cant say I have had to many problems with my invun. Just try and get a emp to buff u with fortitude and have another well built scrapper to hold any excess aggro (flier) while the team takes out the towers. He hits hard, u just gota hit harder also capped tank hp helps with some blues.

  21. I got what i think is a good build apart from my end use vs end rec... im not sure what to do here? Can anyone give me any pointers on what i can do apart from accolades to imporove on my end issue without sacraficing too much on defense? I had an older build which had the force mastery epic power pool which wasnt much better so i tried using stone...??? any ideas?

Tankers have weaknesses just like anyone else, but they have a good deal more margin for error -- more time to react, more HP and higher caps to which to buff themselves (or have others buff them), better aggro control so that they can afford to spend a few moments here and there chompin inspirations or trying to find that half-forgotten temp power when the fit hits the shan.

    With all the buffs/debuffs thrown around by high-level mob factions these days, you really can't just look at any given build's DEF number and declare it enough. Enough is subjective. Layered mitigation is where it's at, and Tankers have the highest potential layering by default simply because they have the highest hitpoints.[/QUOTE]

    So true, I had a awesome inv/ss tank post GR. Could tank anything bar psi. Didnt need buffs or heals. Now since the release of GR and the new preatorian story arcs he melted in a second against the new clock work? Much to my disbeleif my mighty tank had fallen. So thats the truth behin every tank has an achillies heel, even with soft cap defenses and hard capped resistance.
  23. Got a SR brute that im currently soloing +3 +8 not quite as good as good as the dark tank in subject. But I like the idea of even survivability with all enemies
