Looks good to me. Try not running with stealth on, and only use DN during AV fights. Being */fire your best defense is a good offense.
Heh, i remember seeing someone post a build that was exactly like one i made slot levels and all :P -
FSC actually does MORE dmg than FS and has the same rech. The smaller radius shouldnt matter in an ambush farm at least. It does however have a longer activation time.
The fact that you dont get the FF+rech proc as well is a BIG deal though. But i haven't done too many tests and i could see fire/fire/mu being a very close second. -
40mil per run jesus, wtf dude? That better be like...lvl 1-26 sized runs.
I personally dont understand the trend up charging people to get PLed...but here on guardian doing that is considered a bit of dick move. -

Quote:But how long does it take?+1. I tested it and I can cap at +1x8 w/bosses. The only benefit for using IOs is speed in doing it, or bumping the diff to PL people. The number of builds that can do this is far greater than what the player base seems to focus on. Case in point, Ice/rad is one of the lowest damaging controllers one will find and there is a thread about how well it was doing a fire farm map. Once I get my Plant/storm IOed and Incarnated, that will be no slouch in it's ability to generate tickets.

Well, you CAN farm with SOs easily.
But ANYTHING can cap out tix at +2x8 (heck, a blaster on SOs could do it but they would likely die a few times). Or a granite/dark/nrg tank but they would take FOREVER.
It's how fast you do it that counts, and IOs make you faster. -
Psi is easily handled due to the epic heal you have, i believe its better than energize even after the +regen. And of course the fact that everything is dead before it can hurt you, so there is that.
Of course, /elec would be a bit safer. An /fa brute can have some definite trouble at +3/x8 or something. -
*uses his new facepalm emote*

Rikti are EASY on an ss/fire imo, infact i recommend rikti if you are going to farm outside of AE since you can easily get them in RWZ. It is true that they use a lot of nrg dmg. However, it not nrg dmg with any -def OR -recov, so a decent /FA brute can easily shake it off. There is a world of difference between the nrg dmg that rikti throw out and the nrg dmg of the PPD.

-tohit is = to def only against even con (non AV) enemies. The -tohit will scale down when you fight for example, 54s. And it pretty much useless against AVs.
WP gains almost nothing from +rech so with them i highly recomend shooting for def more than +rech. There is a lot you could do to up you def, i will post an s/l/e/n soft capped build in a sec.
Couldnt seem to find my WP build but, here. I thru this together quick. s/l soft cap but only 39% e/n def. Down from 45% to 37.5% +rech

Id just like to throw this out there...i have soloed GMs on my SS/fire :P

Quote:Your a little late dude, i posted a video for this awhile ago and im pretty sure that person left...I can't believe you don't think Mu mastery with 4 AoEs can make a seemless attack chain when with just Fire mastery I can make a virtually seamless attack chain with just 3 AoEs which gives me perfect time to click Insp/Veng/Fiery Embrace/Rage whatever during the 1 second it's not up. I should really respec into Mu but honestly, have you never played a properly built SS/Fire before? If you look at Dacus video you can see he has overlap time with 4 AoEs during insp eating.
I slot for nothing but Dam/Rech, FF/Ageless/Spiritual, throw Aegis in your shields and when you hit Veng you are good to go on Def. Eat a tray of Reds before running in the mission and destroy everything.
Quote:I have been following the thread on and off concerning the best things to do on my SS/Fire and I have two questions.
1)What do the pros recommend for the different Incarnate abilities at this point? I just started going after them on a new farm toon since I restarted on a different server.
2) Mu or Arctic Mastery? I saw that Snowstorm was suggested by some at one point.
Thanks in advance and keep on smashing.
2) Arctic was only good for about...1 week. During the time when reactive would go off like crazy, but now its back to mu.
*lols at people running the cyborg map, its just so ****** hehe* bosses dont even give full xp last time i took a look... -
Quote:damn >.<We're getting the band back together!
Next attempt... Friday, 7/22/2011 @ 8pm EST.
We'll start with "Avoids the Green Stuff", then once we've earned that we'll finish it off with "Anti Anti-Matter" and possibly "Bunker Buster".
I'm not planning on running "Loves A Challenge" at this point... don't want to add another 5+ hours to this again. -
Meh, i still hate i21 because it doesnt give more iSlots...new trial without a reason to run it. So yay! Nothing of interest ftw! Only reason i cant wait or i21 is because it means we are closer to i22 (or maybe i21.5) which means new slots.

Quote:This, in fact...this is exactly correct. The problem is two fold, as far as Gravitic and Diamagnetic face: The debuffs are both fully resistable and short lasting. Unless changes were done (which I believe were never mentioned on the patch notes), the debuffs last somewhere in the realm of 2-3 seconds, i.e. barely long enough to matter. If you're a fast attacking character or you simply throw out a sheer number of attacks (blaster/MM/etc), then you may actually get some value out of these two.
Of course, the second problem is that Reactive and Paralytic are just THAT much better. -res and -damage are resisted through an entirely different manner then the rest of the debuffs (specifically, through resistance itself), meaning that while the other stuff faces 70% or more debuff resistance to be anything but negligible, you'll most likely be hitting full or close enough to each increment of Paralytic and Reactive that apply, nevermind the extremely awesome dot.
Interface isn't balanced because, while the choices are interesting, it feels like it was designed by someone that didn't fully grasp the mechanics of the game. If they all got procs of some sort (probably damage), and then likewise had their debuffs unresistable, Interface would be in a really good place right now and, more importantly, doesn't step on any ATs toes. Until then, Diamagnetic and Gravitic provide a "hidden" value of nothing, while Reactive is basically a god among choices. After all, while debuffs and whatnot make you live longer, making the enemy live for even less time is the best defense. -
fire/kin is also pretty bad *** for content farming.
I find i like to farm freaks the more, epic xp. -
Still SS/fire...it was the redside king even before AE.
-
...you know all the powersets in the game and the ATs that can you them.
...when excited you yell "FREEM!!!!!"
...when you going to the bathroom you tell people "afk bio"
...if you understand "res is -res res"
...if you are reading this thread -
Quote:Uh, well a farming build is a farming build because it creates lots of big orange AoE numbers...so yeahThe problem with most of the builds suggested is that they ARE farming builds...Fire/Kin, SS/Fire....Give me a break! I think some people in this thread are in denial. You are naming quintessential farming builds. That you want a tough farming build means apparently you just want to farm more difficult content, but don't kid yourselves.
I think some of the blaster suggestions in this thread might be fun, as they are atypical and there is a little risk even if you are relatively IOd out. Another thing might be a /sonic defender of some sort. Or you could choose a typical farming AT like tank, but choose an atypical one like Ice/Ice/Ice, which does have lots of AOEs.
Best of luck and I hope you find something you enjoy.
As i understand it the OP wants an build with tons of AoE but doesnt intend to just farm the same damn mission over and over. A fire/kin or SS/fire both do exactly was the OP asked for. They creats lots of AoE and both of those builds are GREAT in normal content.
So...im confused by your post. Whats the problem exactly? -
We totally need more judgement powers, there are sooo many other options they could do for some really cool stuff.
I think we need a nuke. Hell, they already have the nuke animations in game...and if there was something with a judgement worthy animation warburg nuke would be it.
I also think a pillar or light/death ray and super mega footstomp would be awesome. -
Yes, SS/fa can be built to be tough outside of fire farming...I did a solo MoITF (actually got the badge doing that) on mine, duo'd lambda and have played the main tank (sucessfully) in every high level TF and iTrial in game...its not cheap though.

This, for the love of god this.
Also, i loled at you not using FE....sorry.
Fire actually wins mostly because of FE.
It is, hands down, the SINGLE BEST POWER IN THE GAME FOR INCREASING DMG (kin FS being the only thing that can come close, but when you are already at the dmg cap FS is useless...FE isnt). Easily adding 100s of point of dmg to attacks. At the dmg cap i believe it adds about 205 dmg to FS....so you can spam an AoE for 600 every 6 or so seconds almost 50% of the time with high levels of +rech.
Ball ends up with 471 dmg
Fences does 375
burn clocks in at 634
last but not least i believe blazing aura does about 103 dmg
did i mention FE is the single best power in the game for increasing dmg?
