Protector has also been having weekly raids.
Saturdays at 5pm EST. Alternating blue/red sides. -
Hopefully it all went well. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it due to RL issues, and I won't be able to make next weeks, but best of luck on the next one!

Quote:Yeah.. hami did spawn awfully early. Normally I would hovering around 11-12 eoe's but I only had 3 when he spawned this time. I did pick up a few tricks on how to better deal with the yellow mitos this time around so hopefully the next run will be smoother.OK, we had to call quits on this raid in the interest of keeping everyone's sanity. Here's the series of events leading to that decision...
1. Hami spawned after a handful of monsters so our EoE supply was low.
2. We were low on peeps to begin with. Barely making the requirements for each AT needed.
3. First bloom went smoothly, but then we lost a dom because he had to go.
4. Second bloom got really ugly as a result, during which we lost one of the raid leaders to a power outtage (Vega) and Sooner took over leadership for that team and held it together.
5. We had to have a couple people switch to doms to make up for the deficiency, but fact is, we were hovering between 30-35 people and we just needed more peeps.
6. We managed to push through the second bloom, though with much difficulty.
7. During the third bloom, we lost one of the brutes to a separate power outtage.
8. We made another attempt at the third bloom, took inventory of our remaining resources.
9. We had a consensus among the team leaders that a push to finish would be too costly.
So I think we'll stick to hero raids for a little while because that seems to attract more players (last hero raid the hive was full).
Speaking of... I hope we haven't given up on redside hami raids altogether =[[. There were at least 30 people (well.. characters) there for this one after all. I suspect if we had a few more eoe's per person, we coulda still punched through it (but I think the leaders did make the right call on this raid).
I almost consider it a badge of honor to be able to take down hami with less people =P
(I know this isn't really the place, but is anyone interested in trying to pull off a "speed" hami raid. Just a party trick where we unload nukes and temps to try to defeat hami through all his blooms? Ever since I heard the idea, I've always wanted to try =P) -
I really like this one (Renault SF) as well (The last boss fight is just a great idea in my mind), but I'd have to say the barracude or LRSF rank a little higher to me. I absolutely hate the Duray SF. It's so long that people are just exhausted by the end and then we make stupid mistakes. It reminds me why I hate heroside TF's so much. However, I must admit that we did have an awesome team pic for it.
@gothess, my gf exclaimed "wow! I like her outfit" when she saw your costume. She thought it was a new one shoulder top. She was a little sad to find out it was just an ammo clip =P -
Quote:A part of me is annoyed at the lack of symmetry.
It makes us look like beginners.
When we clearly are not.
We're at least amateurs. -
Being able to run a speed RSF probably has more to do with a team of corr/VEATs than any particular brute build

hehe. i had the same concept idea for the combo when i created my ice/thorn (for the thorns to actually be icicles), so hopefully you don't play on the same server as me =P. Mine is still in the planning stages so I'm interested to see how the sets play out for you. Even though I have spend a lot of time making plans, I almost always choose to try out every power for myself, and then respec out of the ones that are horrible. I'm pretty sure the 3 powers that are skipped in ice are the immob, aoe immob, and the aoe sleep. Out of thorn, maybe thorntrops, but again, i'd have to find out for myself what doesn't fit my style
-
D'oh, totally forgot about Ice slick. I guess that should be suitable enough.
Does the aoe immob prevent ice slick from working?
Looking at mids, it adds knockback and knockup protection. As far as mid's is concerned, is KD a derivative of those? -
Yah. It was a bit touch and go on some of the blooms (at least for the melee spike team, I know we had a couple of 1/2 team wipes. I would like to extend a huge thanks to all the patient rezzers that showed up). Even still, I'm amazed at how well we were able to recover and finish the raid.
Thanks to all the organizers and leaders for making this raid another success -
I'm in the planning stages of a new ice dominator, but I had a quick question to ask of people who have played one. Since I usually lead pugs, I find it helpful with a pug team to be the person who isn't afraid to eat the alpha.
For my plant dom, when I approach a mob, I can either throw seeds, vines, or even a spore burst to mitigate the alpha strike. With ice control, what are my options? Glacier seems like a bad candidate for an opening move since it's a pbaoe, same applies to artic air. Does anyone have any advice for this, or am I just not going to be able to be the point of the sword? -

tbh. my Ninja/Poisin MM is sitting at lvl 17 and I share your feeling. I'm hoping things pick up once I get smoke bomb but it sounds like from your experience it doesn't get much better =/ Hopefully someone will show us the error of our ways, but most likely my MM is not going to be getting much play
-
Bummer. I didn't realize that it was Chinese New Years and Vday this Sunday. Between family and gf I don't think I'll be able to make this. Good luck though!
I'm secretly hoping that not enough people can make it so I can still do this next week instead of having to wait for the next cycle =P -
Is there something wrong with the gun running aspect of keeping the markets seperated?
Does it give an advantage to any player that another player wouldn't have?
To me, it seems like it is adding an interesting meta game (even though I have no intention of playing it, heck I don't even play the market as it is now. Conceptually it does sound intriguing).
Economically, allowing for this would naturally do what a market merger would. Players would search for whichever item would give the highest yield, and then bring them from side A to the side B. If it is as profitable as people claim, I imagine that more people will try to do it. The more people that do this, the more people they have to compete with. It would bring the prices down on the side B as supply increases and raise the prices on side A as supply decreases, until it more or less hits equilibrium.
It seems that doing a market merger while acheiving the same effect, would be a much more disruptive event. Frankly, I don't see the arguement for it since they both achieve the same objective. One allows for people who want to play the market another way to do it, and those who don't to still reap the benefits of a market merger. Or are we saying that people who play the market are bad people for finding another method to make inf? -

Quote:tbh, I'm glad it worked out. The first time I tried it, I was just exploring and doing the "learn as you go" approach, which didn't really cut it since we didn't know what the temp powers did. After that attempt, I tried to think it out and got some advice from people on the forums and worked out at least a basic strategy. This run definitely went smoother than my first try (not ideal since we wiped) but it was nice to see a recovery.Es mi dia primero? xP
I'm just glad someone knew what we needed to do. Hehe. I've only done this one once before and I can't remember if I was the one leading it. Thanks "Rin". And thanks to everyone else for joining in the fun. See you guys next week.

The 2nd wipe was probably because we were a little premature on entering the room so that wipe should have been avoided. Heh, now that I think about it, the 1rst wipe was preventable too. I botched my signal to Sokyoku =/ so we didn't get the respite from the stalker laser room. But, overall I think the run went well. I felt like everyone really pulled their weight, noone gave up and in the end, we prevailed against overwhelming odds. Because we're awesome.
tl;dr version. We're awesome. -

Starting with this post, I'll be putting my feedback, please resubmit your posts =]]

Well... I don't know where the rest of you went, but I was fighting the freedom phalanx the full time =/
Hehe. Being my first time, I actually thought the last fight was pretty fun. I'm sure that having done it once now, the rest of the SF could actually go much faster in the future. Considering our team makeup, I actually think we did alright. My friend said that we simply wouldn't be able to do it with our team (3 stalkers, 2 brutes, 2 corruptors and 1 dom). GJ to everyone that was on the team. I wouldn't mind trying it again (or an MO run) at some future point =]] -
So I recently created an Ill/Sound controller and I was trying to decide on the leveling path, when the obvious answer hit me. In a delightful twist of irony, I would make the the illusion controller live in the AE and only do missions through AE (I may make some exceptions for badges/accolades).
However, since its inception, I've avoided the AE since farms don't really interest me. Now that it's more or less hit its maturity, I'm pretty excited about this new character and her chosen path. Rather than hitting the random button, I thought I would at least ask here first.
I plan to go through most of the dev choice and guest author missions at some point, but after that, does anyone have arcs that they would recommend for me to play? Does anyone have arcs that they would like someone to play and offer feedback?
I mostly enjoy comedy arcs, am not averse to challenging or custom characters (as long as there is an attempt at balance), and will be trying to get a pug team to play with me so team friendly content is always a plus. NO FARMS please.
The method for rewiews will be as follows:
1 arc submitted per post
I will review the arc with 6 words or less (inspired by the 6 minute memoir) -
These are illusions of popular history which a successful religion must promote:
Evil men never prosper;
only the brave deserve the fair;
honesty is the best policy;
actions speak louder than words;
virtue always triumphs;
a good deed is its own reward;
any bad human can be reformed;
religious talismans protect one from demon possession;
only females understand the ancient mysteries;
the rich are doomed to unhappiness . . .
-----
From Dune but I find games tend to promote these as well -
My stalker respecced out of teleport for Ninja Run.
It works fine most of the time, except.. when you do a master run, you really feel the lack of your "travel power". It's especially annoying once you get used to using it in missions and you're forced to using sprint =/
