My AE baby

So I recently created an Ill/Sound controller and I was trying to decide on the leveling path, when the obvious answer hit me. In a delightful twist of irony, I would make the the illusion controller live in the AE and only do missions through AE (I may make some exceptions for badges/accolades).

However, since its inception, I've avoided the AE since farms don't really interest me. Now that it's more or less hit its maturity, I'm pretty excited about this new character and her chosen path. Rather than hitting the random button, I thought I would at least ask here first.

I plan to go through most of the dev choice and guest author missions at some point, but after that, does anyone have arcs that they would recommend for me to play? Does anyone have arcs that they would like someone to play and offer feedback?

I mostly enjoy comedy arcs, am not averse to challenging or custom characters (as long as there is an attempt at balance), and will be trying to get a pug team to play with me so team friendly content is always a plus. NO FARMS please.

The method for rewiews will be as follows:

1 arc submitted per post
I will review the arc with 6 words or less (inspired by the 6 minute memoir)

Feel free to play any of the ones listed in my Arc Thread. The link is in my sig (that list in the Sig itself is not complete, ran out of room.)

Pro Payne's post is a good place to start: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=129153

Also, read through the review threads. Anything in them with a half decent review is likely to be worth running. Also, check out the players choice awards threads. It is stickied at the top of the forum.

That should give you pretty good start.

For a quick bit of comedy fun, I've got Whack a Mole #2711, guaranteed not to take more than 10 mins. Best played solo, but feel free to bring a team and split up to see who finishes first. Though if you're early on levels, you might want to have a team of two, there are a couple EBs that would scale to bosses.

Here's my comedy arcs:

Teen Phalanx Forever (arc 67335)
The Teen Phalanx is on a recruitment drive, and they've extended an invitation to a teen version of your hero to try out! Do you have what it takes to join Paragon City's most prestigious teen superhero team?
(heroic, level 15-30)

Celebrity Kidnapping (arc 1388)
Boy, does Willy Wheeler have a deal for you! A celebrity heiress has been sentenced to jail for drunk driving. The plan is to break her out of the Zig with the help of some thugs, then hold her for ransom for immense profit! What could go wrong?
(villainous, level 30-40)

Papers and Paychecks (arc 298290)
JOB OPENING: Entry-level position available in dynamic, fast-moving Fortune 500 company. Seeking flexible, motivated individuals, self-starters willing to think outside the box. Excellent salary, benefits, opportunities for rapid promotion. Qualified applicants, contact Crey Industries HR Dept.
(villainous, level 32-45)

For some more humorous arcs, I'd also recommend (not by me):

(suitable for lowbies)
Nuclear in 90 - The Fusionette Task Force (arc 58363)
Mercytown (arc 6017) (though...this is really horror...or maybe humorous horror)
The Tangled Weave (arc 338575) (not officially comedy, but I thought it was fun)

(a bit higher level)
Becky's Revenge (arc 60197)
Death to Disco (arc 84420)
Ashley Porter and the Gorilla War (arc 130809)
The Wentworth's Thanksgiving Day Parade (arc 347683)

Wrong Number had a thread focused on reviewing humor arcs awhile back also; you can find it here.

@PW - Police Woman (50 AR/dev blaster on Liberty)

Can't really say I have much in the vein of laugh out loud humor, BUT any of the arcs in my signature are always up for playing, of course. I'd guess the closest I have to humor at all would be the pairing of "City of Ho Ho Help: A Prequel" (267125) and the arc it previews of "City of Ho Ho Ho, or A Claus in Paragon" (18775). This is more sappy fun Christmas special stuff, with an Outcast boss trying to work up support to smash up a hero who might or might not be Santa Claus himself.

If you just want something that will warm the bottom of your heart, try "Polar Emergence Neutral Government User Interface Network (PENGUIN)" (29205) and its sequel "Waddle's Revenge" (302196). Save Waddle the Penguin from Crey Biotech and follow his assault on Crey as he looks for--his POPPA.

Have fun, and if you try any of these out, let me know what you think!

I'm out of signature space! Arcs by Tubbius of Justice are HERE: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=218177

All my arcs listed in my sig have elements of humor, with the first two (BUNNYGIRLS and Premium Quality) being mainly humor-focused.

The arc DayJob Hell is of course for villains, but if you wanna run your low level 'troller through, I won't tell anyone if you don't.

Any and all feedback is always greatly appreciated!

Mostly just go through the arcs you find on the board. This board is a pretty good way of seeing which arcs are going to be what you want, since generally the people who are going to the effort of posting online about their arcs care enough to go to the effort of making decent arcs.

I can't really help with lower-level arcs, since I prefer to level in the game world, but I kept note of the arcs that were well-written and at the same time reasonably serious. Once you get there, I'll post away.
