Nothing - and I mean NOTHING - compares to the delicious refreshment that is Slurm.

    Repent thy apostasy, heretic!

    Thor!

It looks cool(ish), it kinda sounds like a cool story, but...

Do ALL heroes have to have a 'hey look, they're teenagers! Please young people, like our product! Pleeeeaaase?!?!' version? What's next, Asgard Babies?
  3. Another Freakshow fan here. Not only do they take such joy in their mayhem, but they are just so damn optimistic. You beat them down and they rez, thinking things will be different this time.

    "Hmmm...7h15 g|_|y j|_|57 p0|_|nd3d my f4c3 1n70 t3h fl00r 1n |_|nd3r 3 53c0nd5. 7h47 pr0b4bly 71r3d h1m 0ut, 1'll b3t 1 c4n t4k3 h1m n0w!" *rez*

(Translation: "Hmmm...this guy just pounded my face into the floor in under 3 seconds. That probably tired him out, I'll bet I can take him now!" *rez*)
  4. These are all great ideas, but something's missing in all of them: a new form of in-game currency. We just don't have enough of those.
  5. Howard Stark!!

Also, Conan O'Brien had additional footage on his show last night:

    Linky
  6. The phrase "knock up" means something completely different in Britain and the USA.

In Britain, it can mean "wake someone up" (e.g., "I'm going to Fanny's house to knock her up tomorrow morning"), or to throw something together out of odds and ends (e.g., "My dad knocked up a treehouse out of some old lumber scraps").

In America, "knock up" means to get pregnant. So you Brits don't go knocking any of us up, ok?
  7. From all the posts here, it sounds like this movie fits the comment my wife made about "Armageddon": "Bad science. Fun movie."

I'll probably catch this at a matinee or something.
  8. The biggest full moon in 18 years

Tonight - Saturday, March 18, 2011 - the Moon is at perigee and full. The Moon should look especially large, as it is about 31,000 miles (50,000 km) closer to Earth than at apogee. The last time this happened was in March of 1993. The next one won't be until 2029. The Moon is rising at sunset. Check it out if you have a clear sky tonight.
  9. I deem this...amusing. Yes, highly amusing.

I'd totally buy this comic if it really got made.
  10. The suit looks like it's made out of vinyl. And the boots should be red
  11. A couple of specific things you may not know about and not even know to look for them:

Leveling Pacts - you can make a pact with another character, and all XP earned is split between the two. If one is offline but the other is playing, the offline character will get XP. Great for keeping "duo" characters at the same level, especially if on person plays more than the other.

Super Sidekicking - You may remember sidekicking from before, where a higher-level character could sidekick a lower-level character. You may remember the "Your mentor/sidekick is too far away" messages, just as your sidekick drops and all the enemies are suddenly deep purple to you and you get wiped out. These are no more. Now, sidekicks are adjusted to one level below the level of the team leader (or the level of the team's selected task), and there is no 200-foot "tether" any more. These things make it MUCH easier to form a team, as you don't need to mess around with who is sidekicking who (i.e., The Mentor Shuffle), etc. Some highlights of the new system:

    - No longer require a specific "Mentor" to sidekick you.
    - When Exemplaring (i.e., dropping to a lower level to play on a team), you now gain XP.
    - Also when Exemplaring, you have access to powers up to 5 levels above the Exemplared level. For example, if you Exemplar a level 30 character to level 15, you will still have access to powers up to level 20.
  12. I love doing this too.

My absolute favorite is using Confusion on Tsoo Sorcerers. I giggle like a little girl as the Sorcerer proceeds to heal *me*, and use his Hurricane to debuff the other Tsoo in the group. It's so much fun.

It's also fun to Confuse a Sky Raider Field Generator. Bubbles for all my friends!
  13. So, what was Gilgamesh's Incarnate power, keeping the castaways from getting of the island?

    Oh no, wait a minute.

    *wipes monitor*

Never mind, it was just a smudge on the screen. My bad.
  15. This is a remake/reboot I can actually get behind. The Affleck 'Daredevil' was horrible, and I'd like to see the character done well on the big screen.

    Star Wars remake

    "Skywalker is this way"
"Well, yeah but we don't know that yet, do we?"
"Yes we do! We've both been to Tatooine before! You were built here by Darth bloody Vader!"
"Shhh! We don't talk about that!"

    OMG that was indeed awesome!
  18. Those pretty lady PPD officers can arrest me...allllll night long.

    *****

Is that a billy club, are or you just happy to see me?

"Did those bikini-clad female cops beat you?"
"No, they *didn't* beat me! Police brutality!"

External backup hard drives are cheap.

Honestly if someone has that many digital-only games/videos/music/whatever and doesn't have an external backup system, well, I don't have much sympathy for them if they lose it all.

    Shouldn't this be 150GB/month = 5GB/day (150/30 = 5), or am I missing something?

    150GB/month = 5GB/day = 0.208GB/Hour = 208,000KB/Hour = 57.78 KB/Sec = 462.24 Kb/Sec, which is still a respectable speed.
  21. Unless I'm looking to craft something, I just drop all my salvage in WW/BM for 12 inf each. Some items will sell for less than I could get at the vendor, but those are more than offset by the salvage that sells for substantially more than the vendor price.

The only exception is Rare salvage. These I'll actually take time to look at the current selling price then list accordingly.

I *never* sell salvage to the vendor. It's just not as profitable, at all.

    It's pining for the fjords!

    AT&T data caps

With a 250GB cap, you could watch 9 hours of High Definition Netflix streaming per day for the entire month, and then you would just hit the cap, maybe. 150GB would be about 5 1/2 hours per day or so.

The amount of data that gets sent between your PC and the CoX server is negligible. I'm not even sure if it would be possible to hit either cap with just CoX alone, even running the game 24/7.

So, unless you're a REAL fiend for downloading, you have nothing to worry about.

Actually, the character was Egyptian. From Wikipedia:

    Quote:
Ramírez, whose true name is Tak Ne, was born in Egypt in 896 BC
Connery's character and accent didn't bother me that much. At the time he was in the movie (late 1400s or so), the character had already been alive around 2,400 years. Lots of time there to develop a different accent (or 6).
  25. Hey Steelclaw, is this going to affect your meta-game? Are you going to have to restart, or can you absorb something like this without a complete reboot?
