I don't think it is so much as disappointment i feel as severe confusion. Why did the spoil Statesman getting the pointy end of the stick..why is this called WWD when the story revolves more around Darrin Wade making a power grab rather than the deaths of characters. Ever since it was revealed that Statesman is going to die I have been more interested in what Wade is playing at than the actual Deaths.
  2. I do it on characters when I get tired of slotting for defense or recharge.

it saddens me that those are the only really worthwhile things to slot for, oh well I plan on making my MA/Fire armor scrapper try to squeeze alot of +damage sets if she can for the lulz.

Do you realize how long it takes to retoggle 10+ powers if you need to use soul transfer :P Thats one of the main reason I went where I did on my current version lol

End will also be a HUGE issue...maybe not for trials but for just about anything else.

I will say you went with a lot of sets i might not have looked at so there is definetely something to remember for later...I appreciate your input
Soul Transfer has a fairly decent huge stun attached to it so you will have time to retoggle, and a Softcapped Dark Armor Brute has no excuse for dying that often.

So most people treat the Netherworld as some sort of void plane that is filled with creatures that can shatter your sanity and is the "gas tank" for negative energy?

In essence, going back to the Champions setting, the Netherworld is the Qliphothic Realm? Basically the old worlds that are dying, where gods go to die, where the antithesis of life exists.
Actually they do have a blueprint for the COX verse, there is a story bible. The Main problem with it is that the Devs forget which bits of it we know and which we do not know sometimes.

The point is to discuss challenge in mission content and how to make things challenging for solo players, small teams, and large teams, without just turning on and off the AV button. That's not to say that we can't still turn on and off the AV button for future content, however. There was an excellent example in a previous thread of how to make things more interesting with a fight, which was that instead of the EB scaling up to an AV, the EB has more EB allies to make things interesting for a full team. I thought this was a great idea, and I’d love to hear more. What we’re basically going for is...

So! Here are the guidelines to that we need to set up for this:

    1) No flaming/putting people down; give each other useful feedback on ideas. Let’s keep this polite. Any insulting feedback to your fellows will be handled by Arachnos Laser Drones.
    2) Little to no impact on the art team or powers team. The goal here is to come up with ideas that are easily applicable to several scenarios.
    3) Stay on the subject!

I’ll be doing my best to reply to this thread, but keep in mind I also have work to do on occasion (when I’m not in the lab striving to make great science).
In all honesty if you are wanting to make things more difficult for high end teams the first step is going to be having DR in PVE, which is going to be about as fun for the PR team as ED was. Frankly no matter what mechanics you can throw in, a team with 3 or 4 buff/debuff sets is enable enough force multiplication to slaughter whatever comes their way.

I do, however, recall that old bug that resulted in a Kheldian character being able to two-shot Hamidon or something like that... call me crazy, but it seems to me that part of that bug at least partially accomplished what's being considered.

If there's an old back-up copy of the code that contained the bug, it might be possible to examine and adapt it.

    I'm not a programmer, though, so I wouldn't know.

another example of how coding is really strange sometimes.

3 extra slots breaks something so that a Kheld can two shot Hami. I would love to learn how to code just to examine the dominos of that bug.

    Raid Your Brains Out

The introduction of DA does little to change this.
It introduces a painfully slow "alternative" that STILL ties you to the "Well if you get lucky with random rolls you can make progress, if not tough ****" mechanic. And your only deterministic option is to STILL build everything raw from threads and continual up-conversion of salvage.
Except that the beta testing Proved you can get to +3 without doing a single Trial in about a month. As I stated before that is *faster* than you can get fully IOed just doing solo missions, and that is only one test case by one person who seemed to have some really bad luck I honestly think that the overall speed of DA will be faster than that.

You may not be able to get T-4 Incarnate levels too fast in DA, but you really can not get Purple IOs in *any* sort of fast time like you can with Trials, and I still see no real comparison with WoW, it falls flat for *anyone* who has actually knows anything about both games.

    In short.

The solo path in COH has *always* been slower outside of the broken broken MA, Go level a character from 1-50, IO fully, and fully Incarnate up vs someone who does the Taskforces to 50, runs the high level TFs for Merits and then Trials up to Incarnate. I am willing to bet the teaming will always have a very large advantage as it has had from the very start of the game.
  9. honestly I kind of like how DA works for Incarnate Content, the soloers get a bunch of arcs that lead up to a trial to end the story..My only complaint is that after Dream Doctor's arc there should have been a Task Force to set up for the DD Itrial.

Then every single Trial would be *easily* failable if one person did not do the exact movements right or if a single prisoner escaped, and each Boss would only drop 3 Merits that the entire group would have to fight over, oh and those Merits would only be usable by 1 class so there is a chance that for your 20 minutes of work you get absolutely nothing.

Honestly +3 in about a Month is not entirely bad considering that those Incarnate abilities will never become useless, and is quite faster than someone could get fully IOed Soloing without spending money on the AH.
  12. I would say the new phasing tech they have added to atlas is a step towards allowing you to get a "win"

Kill them off, let player characters be the new Freedom Phalanx.

Even better, give players the option of being in the Freedom Phalanx SG or their own created supergroup! The FP will just have an unlimited number of spaces, stops you from joining another, and gives you access to the Freedom Phalanx supergroup chat channel!

If..it is done well it would. I am not saying this is going to be a terrible movie, it is probably going to be the best tomgirl princess movie ever mostly likely just because Pixar is that good.

Will I go see it? Of Course, Pixar has garnered quite enough good will from me over the years to go to. Heck their worst movies are the Cars ones, and the first one was a good remake of Doc Hollywood.
  23. I have mixed feelings about this..Sure Pixar! but..it looks like your generic "tomgirl princess defys all the old ways and becomes a hero" thing that has been done to death.
  24. In their defense for City Vault, word is they tried but..it broke things, as in unplayable broke.
  25. The Arbiter Sands one..was really strange, him and the hero is is pining for are dating?

    How does *that* work!
