  1. What do you mean? I currently have my burn slotted with 4 procs

(3 dmg and the Fury of the glad chance for -res)

I just never noticed if they actually could hit every tick of Burn's dmg or not. If it didn't I was likely to switch the procs to Blazing Aura.

But since I believe Burn is a psuedopet, The chances should proc every tick of dmg.

So assuming that is what you mean.. I agree
  2. Thank you for the quick reply. I have looked for that information before, And apparently was rather oblivious.

    Thank you again.
  3. Well I was wondering how the mechanics of Damage Procs and such work in Burn and Blazing Aura.

I would assume that in Blazing Aura it would have a chance to tick every burst of damage from it right?

But what about Burn? Does it only have a chance of proccing on the initial burst of damage or only on subsequent bursts?

What I am trying to figure out is will my Procs tick more often in Burn or Blazing aura long term?

    Thanks in advanced.

Yeah. I was stuck in GW's death Hug and *poof* I was gone =/.

It was soooooo much fun though!

I personally think the WP tanks rocked it out (but i might be a little biased =P)

The awesome part was that we only used Daggers for debuffs! (No nukes, shivs,HVAS Nothing!)

Hope to do more all Tank things!
That sucks, We had assumed you raged as you had not came back on before we finished. Sorry you were not able to make it back in time. You missed the part we pulled out all the stops on GW, I had a random Shiv and HVAS we had a couple Amy's Wards, and someone pulled out a bio nuke, and that spam of temps is what allowed us to finish off GW in the end.

And honestly what was with GW that fight? She would hold anyone but me, and I think during the whole time we fought her she held me maybe 3-4 times?

Thanks Boxer, yeah I remember that mission. That was utterly brutal of a AE arc. >.>

I never felt so squishy on a tanker before that mission!
  5. It was a bunch of fun, thanks to all 6 of the ones who were left at the end for a really fun run,

(For those who were on it, my name is Daranable in game)

Our team as it stood with the Final 6:

    Daranable: Willpower/War Mace
    Onyx's Mystery: Stone/?
    Metalios: Fire/Super Strength
    Sakurra: Ice/Energy Melee
    Crom-: Fire/ ?
    Noble Scarlet: Fire/ ?

We started out with 8 of us tanks, Three Fire/ , Two Willpower/ , One Invul/ , One Stoner/, and on /Ice. And blazed through the first 3 missions.
Hit a tiny snag during the second Dr. Aeon mission where half the team wiped but recovered cleanly from that and went on to defeat aeon in under two minutes.

Next we went into the final mission, here is where we started having issues, having ghost widow use AoE hold on half of our team and taking them out etc, and the other 3 AVs were not wanting to leave us alone.

So we retreated and regrouped, got ready to go again, and started by taking out Cap'n Mako first, The other 3 decided to join us again, so this time we left 6 on Mako, and 2 of use were holding the other 3 AVs due to dieing there was a lot of switching around of rolls,

Next we took our Scirrico, his defense debuffs were a constant nuisance through the entire mission, he went down smoothly once we got on him.

Next we chose to take on Black Scorpion so we could have ghost widow on her own. I had been getting extremely lucky against Ghost Widow and was avoiding most of her holds, of course with no Empaths around, she did get the better of me several times, but with help from other we were able to keep her at bay till finally it was her turn to face the Mace...

Here is where things started going down hill, We were all fighting GW, and she was constantly holding our Fire/ tanks and killing them (I still feel bad for you guys thank you for persevering!) The stoner and I were passing her aggro back and forth, but apparently her hold is an AoE. >.>

So anyway, without a word, during that fight our Invul/ tank decided to ditch apparently he had enough of that.

And then we started bashing on Ghost Widow a bit more during this phase we lost our second Willpower/ tanker.

Finally we ended up retreating to the ship where we had a bit of support from longbow and their turrets, Pulled out all the stops, I dropped a Vangaurd HVAS my last Shivan, some one dropped several pets and a bio nuke, and with that combination, we were finally able to put Ghost Widow where she belongs.

Oh I forgot to mention throughout this entire Task force we were having issues with players randomly getting disconected and having to reconnect in.

So we took our time to go get some more temporary powers Envenomed Daggers, and Large inspirations.

Next we took on the flier before we took on the tower and recluse, Flier went down without any issues.

Next up is recluse, since we were down to 6 we decided to take out all 4 towers, I started out tanking recluse, didn't have a jetpack so I stood toe to toe brawling it out, which worked for most of the red tower.

Then right as the red tower is nearly down, recluse gets the better of my endurance and makes me eat cement, I hosp it asap, Meanwhile the ice tanker took his agg and flew up out of his range. by that time we had lost our progress on red, but thanks to the Ice/ tank the rest of the towers went down without a hitch, Red, Blue, Green, then Yellow.

Up to our final battle with recluse, he went down like the wuss he is.

Got him down to 20%, had two of our member crash again... So we held recluse where he was till they got back, and when they returned put recluse back in his place as well.

All in all it was a very rewarding experience.

    (P.S. sorry about the length)

Attached are some screenshots of the final moments of the task force.

In total it took us 2 and a half hours.

TLDR Version: Started with 8 tanks, last mish lost two, Finished with only 6 of us.
  6. Hey there,

I am not sure whether or not you are still looking for a willpower build or not. But since I am here I thought I would post my build.

The build I will be posting is the same build I run for my Willpower/War Mace
Because of the extremely similar set up between war mace and Battle Axe I didn't have to make any changes.

Now the build does not have anywhere near as much damage output as the builds above. I personally don't have any issues with it. But this build is quite survivable. I have ran just about every high level tf blue side possible. (ITF is only a slight issue but is easily remedied with the mixture of the build's high regen and purples). Base, with one enemy in range on this build your Regen rests at a nice stable 749% but with 10 enemies in range it does a massive jump up to 1189% well over 1000% regen like you wanted.

As for defense Every typed defense is soft capped, Smashing/Lethal Fire/cold and Energy/Negative Energy. Plus on top of that your Smashing/Lethal Resistance is at 65%

Anyway Ill stop talking and show the build: (Oh and I do hope you meant that influence was not a big issue as its not exactly cheap)

  7. @Hyperstrike - That is true hyper, but with permanent rage, I am not too worried about damage output, Ill just have rage on all the time so a constant damage boost. And even then I am on a tanker I don't worry too much about my damage output on a tanker.

@finduilas - Very nice dude! I think I will adopt your build from here. I was not sure how exactly to slot up foot stomp, ty for pointing it out! On my initial build I forgot to grab foot stomp at all yes yes I know slap me. lol
But keeping Soft capped defences to all types and having it well slotted is definitely way more attractive then my build.

Thanks you guys! if there are any other suggestions you guys can come up with please do point them out I am all ways open to improvements.
  8. Hey all,

So I have this Invulnerability / Super Strength Tanker sitting at 50 and I am about ready to start investing some influence to slot this guy up.

I have been working on my build for a while now, it is sitting pretty good right now, All types of damage have soft capped defenses. Smashing/Lethal resistance is hard capped. Rage is perma. and both Regen and Recovery are pretty good. Recharge is at 42.5% global without hasten which is pretty good for the tankers i've done.

Well, I will stop jabbering and get on with the build:

Well, I am not willing to change anything too drastically in the build unless well it drastically improves my numbers over all lol. But if you guys have any suggestions for improving the numbers of my build, please do point them out! As you can tell, influence is not too big of an object for me, I am willing to take my time working on new builds.

    Thanks in advanced!

  9. Hmm, this sounds like quite a bit of fun!

I think I will bring my IOd out level 50 WP tanker.

So sign up Daranable the level 50 WP/WM tanker. my global is @daranable

    See you next Wednesday!
  10. I just have one question about your build, do you see any way I can squeeze out a few more percent of recharge? Or do you think with the Lotg recharge I placed its about all Ill be able to fit in without damaging other things?
  11. Wow claws, quite a build there!

Not sure if Ill be able to afford the Hami-Os or not though at this point, I haven't check prices on them, How much are the Hami-Os you used on average?

But I am definitely impressed! That is a really good build. Then end drain may be a very slight issue in the build but I think your right about it still being sustainable, if its not worse comes to worse I just don't run Focused Accuracy though not sure what ill do about global accuracy then.

The only other thing I saw that took any real hit from what I can tell is Global recharge. I managed to squeeze in another 7.5% by replacing one of the enzyme exposures in Manuevers with a lotg defence/7.5% recharge. that got global recharge to 35% which i think I can be happy with and it wasn't a significant defense drop at all luckily.

But I think still its a really good build I may actually end up respecing into it. Thank you by the way!
  12. The numbers over all for a shield tanker seem a tiny bit lacking in my opinion. Now please don't take my word as the only word, but I have played a shield scrapper, and with Shield defense, It is fairly simple to get both ranged and melee defense soft capped. You may want to try for a couple sets of Mako's Bite which provides a massive 3.75% defense boost to ranged defense, and Obliteration's you can slot in several of you massive AoE attacks like Lightning Rod and Shield Charge and even Thunder Strike, and Obliteration provides 3.75% defense to melee defense.

Over all your numbers seem pretty good but they definitely could be a bit higher, I am not sure how far off you are from fully slotted or not but I would try for at least Melee and Ranged soft capped at 45%.

Actually no I am not, If you did not notice a lot of the enhancements that I grabbed that have melee defense. (notice this is the only positional defense I worked at all) Melee defense also provides boosts to smashing/lethal defense. If you pull the build of in Mid's, the only defense truly soft capped is Smashing/Lethal and that is definitely typed defense, and not positional. Take a look again please.

The reason for this is simply the extra 4 slots for Kinetic Combat, Which provides a whopping 3.75% defense to smashing/Lethal which is the main defense I need soft capped.

Resist powers: 3 Aegis, 3 Reactive Armor (if you have the extra slots). Aegis gives you Fire/Cold defense Reactive Armor, as you know, gives E/N defense. I'd slot 3 Numina's and 3 Aegis in HPT, and at least 3 Aegis in MoB and Tough.

Single Target attacks: Kinetic Combat is okay for them, but you have gobs of smash/lethal resistance, so you might be better off spending the craptons of money you'd spend on Kinetic Combats elsewhere. I like Mako's and Crushing Impact for these.
Those look like pretty good slotting, but I am wondering as to how in the world it soft caps Smashing/Lethal you have to realize I am not slotting like a typical Willpower, I am going for defense, not Resistance like most Willpower tankers. Now If I can find a way to keep my defenses to smashing/lethal soft capped, and get my resistances up higher all the better.

Looking at your build, it looks to me like you're softcapped to melee and smash/lethal. What about the rest of them? Ranged/AoE and the exotic types?
Please note again, I was not looking for positional defense, You were misreading the Touch of deaths and Obliterations as me going for positional, note that both of them provide both +Melee defense and a boost the +Smashing/Lethal Defense, which in order to get soft capped defense to smashing/lethal i needed. And no my Melee defense is not soft capped at all.

Soft capping all typed defenses? I haven't seen that ever done if you can make a build like that please do show me as it has spiked my interest. All though honestly the only time that that is truly required at all is on the very few attacks in game which do not have any part smashing or lethal damage. From my understanding over 90% of attacks in game have some part smashing or lethal damage.

If you can do that without giving a major hit to my Smashing/Lethal defense, or my regeneration and recovery (Which in this build seems to be quite good with +614% regeneration and +240% recovery giving me about 55hp a second in game and 4 Endurance a second in game)

Now I know the build I put before you guys is a bit off from standard willpower tankers, but it has done well, the changes in it I am looking for are stuff such as being able to do things such as more resistance with out much of a hit too the other things in my build.

Anyway please do take a look again and let me know what you think, And if you see anyways I can improve the numbers you see in Mid's overall most definitely please do point it out!

Thank you guys in advanced, and sorry about the long post, but I wanted to reply to all that ClawsandEffect said.

Please let me know what you think. I know I built for defence, but over all having defence soft capped has done me well for this build,

Ive been able to main tank all of the level 50 TFs so far without an off tank but have not tried the lady grey tf quite yet.

    thanks in advanced

  15. Globals: @Daranable

Charectors on Freedom: @Daranable the WP/WM tanker, Daranable Jr. the Elec/Shield Defence Scrapper, and Shriekariene the Sonic/EM Blaster.
Are you willing to respec into a PvP build?: Yes, but my influence at the moment is sort of limited but i have an ok amount. My blaster is made for Zone PvP. but other than that mainly PvE but would be willing to do a build if necesary.

Are you willing to roll a new character if needed?: Yes, but preferably not.

Briefly describe your PvP experience: I have had a bit of experience in PvP zones with my blaster, but not too much. don't play her too much. and she is fairly new. I have done some 1v1 and 1v2s with my SG on my elec/shield I did fairly well in those. And my blaster holds up pretty well in those too. Tank I haven't gotten to try out in PvP yet.
  16. Thank you tonality for the budget build! Btw, This is Daranable Jr. from freedom server.

That looks like a pretty good budget build and would be fairly simple for me to upgrade. I am guessing that that build should cost a couple 100mil rather than a couple billion correct?
  17. Thank you very much for the reply!

Do you have any suggestions on how I can get a decent cheaper build?

If I were to get a cheaper build the things I would like if possible are softcapped at least melee preferably melee and ranged, at least perma-rage. I think that would offer a pretty good farming build to save up for the big build.

If you can help me with that thank you in advanced! I have never been good at designing good cheap builds in mids >.>

    Thanks!
  18. So I am creating my first brute. I wanted to start off with a brute I knew would be good at farming, on blue side I have a ElecM/SD Scrapper and love him he is a great farmer so I know a little bit about SD. I also wanted a way to start making income on red side and I both have heard and figured out that SD and SS would go great together for farming.

    Anyway to the build:

I was hoping you guys would be willing to give me feed back on the build as I have never played a brute before.

Please be brutal, I think this is at least a decent build pretty good recharge, Foot stomp up every 8 seconds without hasten and when hasten is on every 6 seconds (from my understanding foot stomp is the primary AoE dmg output of an SS/SD other than of course shield charge)

Also, if you guys could suggest a way to make a cheaper build to start off with (with at least ranged and melee soft capped) that preferably won't cost an initial billion or two like im expecting that build too please do as I do not have any fund available on red side currently.

    Thanks in advanced!
  19. Hey, so I have a lvl 50 EleM/SD scrapper currently, and as I am sure you know they dominate at farming with there two massive AoE attacks, my build currently does farming really well, but gets completely dominated in PvP.

So I have been thinking of creating a second build for the toon to do a bit of pvp, I am not exactly sure how I would go about doing this, as I am not sure how the sets would do. Any tips on where I should go with the build would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advanced.
