Quick question about Procs in Burn and Blazing Aura
From the Paragonwiki Invention Origin Enhancment page.
Since Procs work when the power is activated, then they continuously work when slotted in a Passive Power or in a Toggle that's turned on. Procs that are in continuous powers cycle or pulse on once every 10 seconds. This is also true when they work in certain pseudopets like 'rains' or 'patches' that have an enduring effect. If slotted in a click power, Procs activate just once for the duration of their effect.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have looked for that information before, And apparently was rather oblivious.
Thank you again.
Still worth it IMO.

What do you mean? I currently have my burn slotted with 4 procs
(3 dmg and the Fury of the glad chance for -res)
I just never noticed if they actually could hit every tick of Burn's dmg or not. If it didn't I was likely to switch the procs to Blazing Aura.
But since I believe Burn is a psuedopet, The chances should proc every tick of dmg.
So assuming that is what you mean.. I agree
The procs will go off every 10 seconds in a pseudo pet. So with Burn it will not be a chance to proc every damage tick.

A damage proc has a 20% chance to fire, and hits for 71.75 damage at level 50. This means it has an expected value of 71.75*.2 = 14.35 damage. Even if it gets two chances to tick (I'm not sure if it does), that's 28.7 expected damage. By comparison, a damage SO in Burn adds 34.5 damage for a brute, and more for a tanker/scrapper/blaster. If you've got 4 procs in Burn, you cannot possibly have good acc/damage/rech enhancement values as well - there's only room for 2 more slots!
The FotG -res proc is actually worse than a normal damage proc for minion-killing, although that's fine if your build uses Burn as a single-target attack.
Don't get me wrong, procs are good, but plain enhancement value is better, until the ED cap. Purple procs are another story, but there's only one of those that can go in Burn anyway.
Edit: It works out similarly in Blazing Aura, by the way. Blazing Aura ticks every 2 seconds, so one tick in 5 has a chance for the proc to fire, again with an expected value of 14.35 damage. A damage SO on a brute adds 3.05 damage per tick, or 15.25 damage over 5 ticks.

One thing I like about adding procs to auras is the chance to proc immediately after leaping into a group. My Spines/DA, the moment he engages, has a 20% chance to do about 1600 pts of bonus damage (Divided randomly among each target) within 2 seconds. It kills several minions, possibly crippling lieutenants, adds extra damage on bosses. That's just for rushing in and having the toggles on.
On average, HamiOs and procs in an aura will do more damage than a full set of IOs. I don't think I would use a lot of procs in Burn, one maybe 2 max. I feel it is a "go to" attack power that can decimate hordes of critters. Slotting HamiOs/procs would produce more damage than an IO set in a 1 vs 1 application but slotting Burn with recharge allows you to stack it more often which will give you more damage over time.
Well I was wondering how the mechanics of Damage Procs and such work in Burn and Blazing Aura.
I would assume that in Blazing Aura it would have a chance to tick every burst of damage from it right?
But what about Burn? Does it only have a chance of proccing on the initial burst of damage or only on subsequent bursts?
What I am trying to figure out is will my Procs tick more often in Burn or Blazing aura long term?
Thanks in advanced.
