at present 66 characters, almost none use second builds.
  2. for post clean ups though. besides, wwz zombies are really easy to survive, no climbing, dumber than standard zombies. really, hang a radio at the top floor of a building, set up amps, prep for fire, and turn on music remotely, watch them file into building, set of charge, watch from a safe distance till the building is full enough, and boom you just reduced a lot of the clean up work. wwz was ok, but some of its comments in regard to weapons were..kind a iffy, he way overrated the use of some weapons, particularly crowbars and machetes. and his clearing methods lacked imagination. and second hand sources of mine say he was way off on some of the firearms.

see, i dunno, in individual combat, yeah, in cases where you can trick a large number of them inside a structure that has been doused with gasolene and has an incendiary device set up to a cell phone, i can see it working really well , if we are going with standard stupid zombies. really id see a tape deck doing the trick, if they are "follow any noise type. you just have to make sure, that the fire wont burn anywhere important.

lets be reasonable, across multiple mmo's, no pvp community is ever happy, ever. but rolling back to i12 seems to be the least that could be done.
  5. tunnel rat has NEVER been that concise. that said, its funny, yeah pvpers are a smaller group, and i doubt any change will grow them to a significant number, but ya know, if they have the resources, I think it would be a good faith thing to do. at least revert to issue 12 pvp if nothing else.
  6. funny thing damz. last week, liberty, despite having much higher population, our mothership raid was less well attended, everybody was in praetoria. overall thoug, yeah pops gone nuts, i'm glad its holding so far.
  7. do slags have rage? maybe they have a to hit buff, those are hideous to sr's, i know their attacks are generally using ss based strikes, so if they have rage, life sucks.
  8. perception plays in, not much really can be done, you will remember the faceplants because they are when things go wrong, but as you said, they seem to be binary and there are times when you are perfectly safe. plus, slags hit really hard, i had difficulty with them on my widow as well. I have polayed sr since near launch, and i feel your pain, but like i said, its perception, plus, when you get a heavy hitter like slags or rikti chief soldiers, the times that things go wrong leads them to go REALLY wrong.

I also paid for the Martial Arts pack, etc. everything except the Mutant Pack.

When you look at "free" new content from the subscription fees, there is not that much. At 100,000 players paying $15 per month that's $1.5 million per month revenue. If they even spent a third of that on new development it would pay for a team of ten full time programmers and artists each making $50,000 a year. You're telling me that ten professional game staff, working full time for a year, could only come up with four new powersets, a few new costumes, and a couple dozen new missions? Don't count the Going Rogue stuff I told you I already paid separate for that.

CoH is a great game, but you can't just play the same stuff over and over forever. There has to be new stuff coming out all the time. You guys are too easily satisfied, I think.
post links to where you got that info please, that sounds like you are lowblalling it. also, honestly, looking at what generally comes with other game's expansions, im not sure where you are coming from, i follow several other mmos as well as this one and outside of one that has a exponentially larger budget, this amount of content is in-line. even the gorilla has only released one new "archetype" in 6 years, so i wouldn't say that we are easily pleased so much as we adjust our expectations rationally based on what the rest of the market is able to do, not based on slightly suspect extrapolation of raw financial numbers. also, i think you are drastically underselling the amount of work needed for some of the new tech added like cloning, power customization, animation customization, and architect. These were not merely switches flipped. id love more missions, but if its between new maps for me to go through spawns of 3-6 enemies grouped at preset intervals over and over, or new tech that simply is not existent in any other major mmo on the market at present. maybe a tech investment was not a comparatively bad investment.

eh, i wouldn't go that far, good franchises will always have people who go too far in defending them, the makers of the movie didnt do this to you, so denying them box office revenue only makes their case worse before the big studios. I'd say that moviebob's impassioned entreaties to moviegoers is a lot more representative of the guys who should be pushing for the movie. a loud elitist amnesiac in a 3.5 richter scale earthquake is really just one of the chorus of opinions on the internet.
  12. he needs to stand still and rehearse his stuff better, that was painful to watch, too many held word endings that made it sound like he was unsure or forgot his lines, and the weaving was really distracting. also, quit yelling.

well, i'll devil's advocate here. his complaint is that the game has not progressed as much as he would like. I'd say he probably had an unreasonable expectation, though its hard to tell because he doesnt really explain much, but i can see his point, even if i disagree, differnet strokes and such. now him trying to doom us with the "other" game, well, we saw most of the same stuff last year around that time, its just a stupid and childish way of making a point.

Now, I suppose it's possible "City of Hero" was a very different game though, and featured them heavily somehow.
This suggestion is one i hope the devs go with, I would love to see the Korean heroes pop up in the next wave of tips (i'm hoping, of course,t hat there is a next wave of tips, tips are really freaking good, but reality is we will exhaust any number of them, and refilling would keep them relevant) of course, the gun/.sword guy woudl be problematic, he likely couldn't have the gun out at the same time as the sword without some serious animation work. but id love to see them come out..maybe with a little korea zone? huh, huh ?

and yes marci, that is one of the things i was thinking, particularly since i have read that the pretorian hami may be different in appearance than the primal giant cell. One propaganda poster seems to show him in the background looking like a mass of carrion creeper type tentacles with a giant mouth, more plant like. But yeah, praetorian haim is one of the 5 possibilities i see, the others being merluna, the sleeper, a rejuvenated rularru, the force that sent the shiva and presumably cause the coming storm being the others.

I'd add a qualifier to this, in japan, whoever square supported was in the lead. In the us square laregly played to a niche audience, of which i was a part, heck, we didnt even get half of square's games, no bahamut lagoon, no seiken densetsu 3, we didnt even get tenchi sozo from enix, and we couldnt import the uk version because that one was pal and wouldnt play on an ntsc system. in the us fortunes in the 16 bit era largely hinged on one key game. the original mortal kombat. nintendo's decision to release a graphically superior but censored version cause a massive outcry in the pre-internet days, and led to genesis recieving a lot of positive press for their stand against censorship. also, the genesis launched well before the nes, and were sucessfully able to cast nintendo as lagging technologically, partially due to a completely made-up feature, blast processing. The irony was that the nintendo actually could usually display superior graphics due to the genesis' weaker color palette. Sega also tended to have a stronger sports game roster for the us market.
Eventually Nintendo did pull ahead in units sold, but that was only after genesis had been abandoned and the saturn made its ill fated belly flop on store shelves (i got one, the made a series about dragons..i didnt have much choice in the matter, plus to heck with the haters, astal was pure art) .

one thing bob neglected to go into about who won the war, and let me tell you, financials be damned, sega was actually seen as a legitimate competitor even with the bellyflop, was 2d vurses 3d. sony aggressively pushed for 3d games, and their system was designed to play 3d games well, sega ports were always lackluster. conversely, the saturn had amazing 2d capabilities, but its 3d was, as i said above, blah. i think bob undersold the importance of controlling the battlefield, had sega been able to force a war on sprites, layers of parallax and a really kickbutt 2d game, sony would have done far worse, but sony won the day with advancing in the gamers consciousness that polygons, not sprites were the future. I vaguely remember the tipping point being a combination of resident evil and tomb raider that won the war, but i could be off. pre internet we had only game mags to go by, and diehard gamefan was about as neutral as pravda.

some of us missed sprites, and really like how the dlc/handheld war now is about well made sprite games again.

said well. really i'm not expcetig a rose garden at this point, these rewards are for an increasingly shrinking segment of the popuation, its just not realistic to expect crazy stuff at this point. if you get this badge, you probaly enjoy this game enough that playing it is its own reward, so i dunno, i'm just not expecting much because i know there aren't many of us.
  20. eh, i dont care for it myself, but japanese sales charts dont tell a particularly nuanced story, its a beast, even when monster hunter games aren't launching. the go however..can we all stop for a moment and laugh at the psp go? its selling in the TRIPLE DIGITS ONLY in the country where psp actually sells well.

now lets be frank, japan carries less clout than before, but us sales charts are monthly, and europe is weird about their sales charts, so the only regular metric is japan.

eh, the way i see the question, it is about nuance. some are more playful, some are more tilted towards platonic relationships, and some are more indicators of intimate relationships.
  23. for now, according to the q&a eventually we will. also there will be more content set there, eventually

  25. yeah, but their msitake still was what motivated square's move. you remember they had that concept video of the ffVI guys, they would have stuck with nintendo if yamauchi didnt hate those dang kids on his lawn. (and he did it again in the gc era with his dislike of online gaming)
