  1. who do you think their hamidon is?
  2. one thought, i dont think its the animation thing, too many characters have the option of doing kicking techniques that would look horrid without rooting. other heroic mmo doesn't un-root all powers, and the ones that are usable moving look awful in a lot of cases. I significantly doubt that would be doable here nor that it would look good.

yeah we know about endgame, seems excessive to do that much security for that, so people speculate about what else could be in it as well.
  3. i always assumed it was him just being very busy, and the way that people were often rude to him. I know he had this unreasonable expectation that people treat him as a human with dignity and feelings, and that don't fly on the internet. also, with the speculation raised by castle's what "power alternate animation" thread it is possible that he nelson and crew are very busy now. it is a shame, becasue i recall that he and castle were pretty good at tamping down fires, such as the rockjaw incident, so a layer of communication that was treasured was lost, but hey, at least noble savage is a chatty cathy, we haven't broken his will to live...yet.

Why do we need two threads of kvetching? How about we stick to complaints about things like not being able to buy the pack in the store, or bugs. The content of this pack is set in stone, not going to change. Either buy it or don't. I think they heard every complaint there is to hear in the last thread.

The next pack that makes 100% of the people happy will be the first.
are you suggesting that we are in a kvetch 22?

LSD is a hell of a drug.

i'm tempted to say we should put him and steelclaw in a room and see what they come up with. Then when we clear out the bodies, we could put the next two funny guys in a room with some air-holes..hindsight is 20/20, unless you have 6 eyes, then its 60/60

    No?

    Then why do it here?

This is silly. If you don't want it then don't buy it.
if the manager had a habit of listening, and i hoped his store stayed open, id mention that some of his prices were too high. sure. the deal is, if he sells more, then the store would be open longer for me, so i'd prefer to let them know if they are strangling sales with unrealistic pricing. i did that with horse armor, and i'm doin' it here.
  9. drop it to 5 and we have a deal. its a worthy experiment, but the price is too high for the contents.

its more than that really, i'd love to see a judo/akido styled power-set, but really throwing only exists in very few mmos games in very limited and usually awful looking ways. the simple fact is that once you have more skeletons than humans of bout the same height(which is how matrix did it), things go straight to heck. so henstly id love it, but when you dont see something in any of the newer games either outside of incredibly limited and poor looking attempts, maybe tech has to catch up a bit before we see it.

not african american myself, but sure, why not? keep in mind there is a backlog of suggestions for new costume elements, so i wouldn't time an egg with this one, but why not? maybe pop this in the "all things art" thread too, that seems to be the art suggestions thread that actually gets read.

    Heroes 911

was sitting in a wal mart eye center, when i got up, i knocked my glasses down, broke the frames in half. and the one guy who worked there could solder the glasses frames together, my usual optometrist would have simply made me get new frames. the worst part is i live in central PA, not a far drive from shanksville, so things got really crazy, i remember a bunch of people's cell phones wouldn't work. When i went to work that night a good friend of mine had called off. there was no real risk, but he just had really bad nerves. at the time there was still a rumor that a carbomb had gone off at the white house too, so i had figured it was the guys who did oklahoma city who pulled this. it took a while to get the rumors sorted.

Fighting games and JRPG's are my two least favorite types of games, both because they don't attempt to break the mold in any way. They just keep using the exact same molds over and over and over again.
it eally depends on how invested you are in the genre. i see first and third person shooters as horribly generic affairs, but thats because i dont like them enough to take the time to learn the distinctions, conversely i can see the depth in the minor differences between ryu and ken that presents to me enjoyable gameplay variations, or better still, ky kiske and sol badguy. to the outsider they are all "shotos" but because it is something that i take the time to learn, i can see the variety and depth. a possible analogue is in music, one often hears how people who dislike a certain genre saying "it all sounds the same" and to an ear that doesnt enjoy it, it probably does. As an aside, as a fan of stylized rt and fluid animations, fighting games have always held a place in my heart, even if stories usually were secondary at best.

oh and dark, i got you now, the clarification of intent helped. mashers can get by to an untrained eye, but that can be said for any genre, familiarity breeds discernment.

this statement is contradictory or poorly written. people who develop skill in the game can easily slam button mashers because they have control of when and where they pull off their special moves. scrub players take saturation characters, like maxi and eddy gordo, but they use combos that skilled players can counter because they know how the combo is going. they dont emulate real skill, they become roughly equivalent to a player who is learning the characters, but ince they dont spend the time learning how the characters play, and what predictable holes are in their defenses and compensate for them, they can be taken down by an actually skilled player.
ultimatelythe author writes from a position of ignorance and his contribution to serious discussion is moot. its the internet, everyone has a voice, and shortly we learn that everyone doesnt really have much to say.

as for whether fighting games are evolving, i really reel i just need to point to arc system works stuff. the myriad of systems in guilty gear and later blazblue introduced so much depth and paper rock scissors to the genre that it evolved the genre significantly.

to some degree, goku is a retelling anyhow. the original dbz is a sci-fi retelling of the journey west, and he is basically sun-wukong. so there are points to say that for a lot of kids familiar with the cultural touchstone, they kind-of knew goku before he was goku.
  20. anyone who doesnt respect confuse has not played a plant dominator, i cant imagine not having it, it is, dare i say, set defining.
  21. most of my active characters are female, of my male characters, they tend to not be human looking, at least in their "iconic" looks. my main is a dragon, then i have robots, aliens, humans in powersuits, bug mutants, 2 reptillian mutants, one cat(its a friend's theme sg, plus it is fun to play at minimum height), one clown/prehuman divinity, out of nearly 70 characters, i have about 5 men that look human(a stage magician, a ninja, 2 military guys and a lieutenant of the archangel Michael) all the rest are monsters and freaks..and usually heroes too,I am a huge fan of the concept of outer monsterousness inversely showing internal kindness and beauty. usually if i have a concept, it just looks better on a woman than a man, so poof. I never quite cared for the "looking at her butt"thing, it strikes me as just a wee bit creepy/objectifying,I find the female form just better to look at from an aesthetic perspective, they always look better in any concept i can think of.

honestly for coh, thats a victory, in most other games female is the default gender for my characters. in the competing superhero mmo, i only have 2 males, and they are a dragon and a robot. in others my rosters are entirely female.

as for the melee/ranged thing, i tend to be an even split, i tend to avoid making women "finesse" fighters (martial artists, whip users, light swordswomen) because that trope is played enough, usually i prefer to make them nontraditional brute force fighters, with maces and super strength, just seems a bit more original. buffy, alias and dark angel got the finesse fighter thing covered, lets see a woman who throws down some screen quaking hits (and yes, i know Buffy was also super strong, but her style was more finesse based).

    oh, and am a fellow

  23. guild wars was heavily advertised initially as a pvp centric game. now it doesnt have real "subscription" numbers, but it sold really well and was profitable. now it has a number of other differentiating factors, primarily the lack of a sub fee, but pvp was a heavy part of the game's launch.
  24. while i sympathize with option 2, ers, i have to throw my lot in with option 1 as a realist. less database space and retaining parts that are just flat out dated...the argument against that persuades me.

Seriously, the pack is overpriced and im not getting it. but just because she feels that it is worth the cost has absolutely nothing to do with her take on the new forum rules(which are dumb), you will be for some things and against others. people who feel they are obligated to always play the rebel or the defender are tiresome because they are playing roles, not actually speaking their mind. the angle you speak of is so binary and divorced of rational thought or subjective valuation that its a meaningless angle for anything but a zealot.
