not african american myself, but sure, why not? keep in mind there is a backlog of suggestions for new costume elements, so i wouldn't time an egg with this one, but why not? maybe pop this in the "all things art" thread too, that seems to be the art suggestions thread that actually gets read.

It really is different, dude. Tightly curled hair like an afro IS different, and acts very much apart from straight or even lightly curly hair.
We don't have any of those in this game, though - more curly hair please!
We totally need that Jeri Curl doo. Can you imagine the badassery? With dual pistols? and the muttonchops / mustache mix? Oh hell yeah.

I guess I should say more urban style haircuts. Just would like to see more variety to the hairstyles rather than burb, surfer, old urban hairstyles, or just wacky. I'll like to see some stuff that would give my african american toons more swag than just the bald or afro. I'm not thouching those ugly dreads they thought was cool, and the cornrows are kinda to sterotypical to me

I kind of like the cornrows because they actually look like real hair, as opposed to the horrid dreads. I mean, did the hero's mom get mad at their dad while fixing their kid's hair?!

Speaking as an Afro-American, I can say that there is a difference in hair texture. Sure, with enough hair products, any hair type can be made to look like ours. This still doesn't make a hair style "race-neutral". I think we need a high-top fade, a rounded fade, and long braids (tied and untie

Agreed, it's a travesty. Give us real dreadlocks; they could be used in a variety of ways, from African American characters, to Jamaican characters, to alien characters, etc.
I'd just suggest getting "more hairstyles" in general.
Odds are if the Devs just randomly gave us a bunch of new styles we'd get a mix that would appeal to wider range of players regardless. Remember there are players from all around the world who play this game so to focus in on only one "type" of hairstyle doesn't make much sense. There are only so many obvious hairstyles out there in the world - some of the new ones would likely have to draw from many different sources and be what various people are looking for.

Well African american hair is different from Caucassian hair. The flat top is joke if you try to put that on a black toon. Unless you wanna make a black guile lol. The fade is different in the Urban community than the military. The military is more up on the head versus the urban fade is faded lower for a more smoother look. That goes for both black and white people! I have seen some white boys rock a fade tighter than me lol. I don't wanna turn this into a racial clash now, I just wanna be able to not hafta cover up my african amercian toons heads or go bald, cornrows,or afro. Please Devs change those Horrible dreads! Need like a long dreads,tied dreads, free fall dreads, etc. For the Women it don't really matter. Whiet and black women look good with the ones they have now, so they set. Just update the hairstyles for the guys. Hell I'll like to see the shaved head with the patch of long hair over the eyes look, for that emo look.( Like doofus+surfer)

I was just making the point that asking for more choices "in general" would be a more realistic suggestion overall.
As a software engineer in real life I know how the Devs would approach this situation. I'm quite sure if it were possible they'd provide us with hundreds of different hairstyles that would make everyone happy. But they are always going to have to make trade offs between what's easiest to produce to meet budgets and deadlines as well as the limitations of their graphics engine.
Could the Devs make improvements in the current styles? Of course they could. Heck, I -wish- they would.
Could the Devs focus on what people would consider more "urban" hairstyles? Again of course they could.
But if the kinds of styles you're talking about are relatively complex or detailed (like the dreads examples you've mentioned) then the chances of them happening become less likely simply because they would require more time and effort to produce. It's not really a question of if the Devs -want- to give us these things. I'm sure they do. It's more a question of if the Devs have the time and resources to spare to provide them. Ultimately it's more realistic to hope that we'll get ANY new styles at this point than to assume that we will get any specific type.
Frankly I wouldn't mind if they produced a new Booster Pack full of new hairstyles like the ones you suggest. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But it's exactly because your suggestions would take more time that the idea of having to pay extra for them in a Booster Pack may be the only way we'll ever see them.

I see your point.Mainly the hairstyles I wanna see are actually quite easy other than the variations of the dredlocks. If they can add some creepy looking faces, I'm quite sure they can add some hairstyles. The fade is just like flattop just shorter top and bring the fade hair down lower. The buzz cut is mainly bald just add light hair. The college cut is like buzz cut just more hair. I'm not an engineer or anything, so I'm on the outside looking in. I guess what I really want is for them to look in to the current hairstylles and maybe pick a few magazines and update the hairstyles for all races.
I think the devs should travel to an urban barber shop and get some ideas. The game need better dredlocks(can you say Coolio to the ones now?) The only two good hairstyles for african american toons is bald, cornrow, and the low afro. I would like to see a fade, buzz cut, college cut, fade parted, etc. I don't how many of the ones in the forums are also African american, but I hope the ones who are can agree with me on this
