  1. Off beat suggestion.

Make sure you don't have combat logging turned on. [ edit wrong word ]

Dual boxing and AE ambush farms I can see hitting that problem area pretty quickly. Although that shouldn't cause a crash.

    [ edit / add ]
Make sure that combat logging isn't on.
  2. Testing powers out is a difficult mess.

Can say just on test server, but that runs the issue of encouraging more players to use test as their native server just to avoid 'paying'. Also, you run into the issue that it's not just a single power, it's a powerset. So it's actually pretty difficult to 'test drive' a powerset without playing it out.

To be honest, I personally think that folks who want to wait and see could be served by player-reviews/assessments of the powersets.
  3. We're looking at a 7 month long meta-arc. With that sort of timeframe, I think it's fair to say anyone is up for grabs. Art resources can be changed and content relegated to the Ouroborus.

I dunno, the bubbles feel pretty comparable to Invisible Woman's fields.

(barring a badge run, of course) I'm also curious about how many "moronic" players you have had on your teams; apparently, there's a whole contingent of morons sneaking onto trials with the sole intent of screwing them up.

Ugh, sorry, snark has become a meal here, but I think (hope) you take my point.
They could engage Marauder's minion swarm before everyone is ready and lead Marauder out of the room.

That incident is one that happened recently in a trial I was on [and quite possibly one that Adeon was, since we're both on Virtue I believe]. It sucks. It really really freaking sucks. I took the time after the event to explain to the new player how that part worked personally. However, several people were pissed off at the player for that incident.

Personally, I saw it as an accident, and didn't think the person deserved the hate levied against them.

Snow Globe gave another example [they get a bulk of the temps and don't realize how to use them]. However, with Snow Globe's example, if it got to the point where Marauder wasn't getting pacified, I'd go off and start clearing crates on my own. Hopefully getting a few others to help me, but it's simply another a fail mistake that's just slightly more recoverable.

Which kinda sucks as people are buying this stuff off RMTers (along with Inf) so it's odd that Paragon wouldn't just want to undercut them, though I do see the balance issues/Market issues.
I think it's more a case of them wanting to limit the appearance of 'buying' power. With the 'big' power items still being obtained through game means.

However, it's possible to buy some gear to help 'jump start' your character, especially in the lower levels.

Something, honestly, you won't see a newer player have (yet). Look, no one wants to look stupid, be called stupid, yelled at for making a stupid mistake . . . all I'm saying is that it's not always (or even, I'd argue, most frequently) the player's fault if they don't understand something. How nice are people when someone does DARE admit (and it takes some nerve!) that they haven't been doing Keyes since they were born? Not very from what I've seen. It's just name-calling, impatience, and general "you suck, you don't listen, and did I mention that you suck?" stuff that makes it even harder for people to admit they aren't pro's at a given trial. All I'm saying is instead of assuming the worst about others, some "leaders" need to take a good, hard look at themselves. Don't know you from a hole in the wall, I do know that Snow Globe is an open and generous leader, but he's few and far between.
I've seen accidents happen. It's an ugly mess. I've actually been on a Lam run once where it was mostly first timers and no one really had confidence of how it worked. One guy quit early on when they realized that and felt the need to berate the group over it. It was more amusing when they requeued and selected in-progress and rejoined the fail-league though.

I think it's a two-fold issue. With leaders assuming that it's easy enough to 'follow along' [and hey, in BAF, it mostly is] until they learn the drill, and the new player assuming to just follow the drill as normal for the game unless said elsewise. It's pretty easy to assume it just works.

Lam and Keyes are chaotic. It's easy enough once you know what to do, but they are a bit intimidating before you do. Keyes, I think, may actually be better for new players right now, because it's extremely rare for a Keyes league leader not to spend a few minutes before queuing up explaining how it works.

Of course, frankly, I think it just goes down to being an accident. Better to educate the person so it doesn't happen again than be a jerk about it.

He sums it up pretty much what will happen if this bill in it's current form passes. Already a few game companies do not like this and have already swore that if this passes they will edited their TOS to allow players to continue, however that is all well in good if where your uploading to knows your game has done this. What will end up happening is most will have no idea and simply pull your video or stream down.

Again watch the video link above the man does a much better job at explaining this then I do and this is something that needs to be shared.
The only place I see it having more 'teeth' with regards to the player run videos in a MMO is in the case of leaks. Which then works as simply another trump charge if they choose to pursue NDA violation charges.

That's cool, something I'd suggest if you can before installing the replacement card from EVGA is to go ahead and clean your drivers out. Just to be safe.
  10. I have this sort of error with a factory overclocked nvidia card before. The problem went away when I created a profile of the card running at nvidia stock clocks and switched to that profile whenever running CoH [and a handful of other games].

Just a thought, at least for the person experiencing it with their nvidia card .

    Eep, I made a signature.

But more on topic, I think every vanity SG needs a Jeeves-alt.

And with Freedom coming it's all the more accessible!

I'm going to try and put my 9800GT back in and see what happens.

    I have a Inspiron 580 Dell
    Intel i3 550 cpu

    I installed a Rocket-fish 600w power-supply ( 500w continuous ) to run the GTX 460, are the only changes I've made.
nvlddmkm is part of the nvidia driver package.

Given the broad nature, it's difficult to actually properly isolate that sort of error. The error # that the nvlddmkm is throwing can be helpful though.

That scale with your level. Kinda interested in how that'll work out personally. I'd like if they removed the level component from inventions in general. Would be a mess with regards to influence sinks though.

There have been a few, the most recent one is the Steampunk booster. It will also most likely be the last 'booster', as the game is transitioning to a f2p/freemium model. As such, going forward, you're going to see more individual items for sale.

That is not to say they won't be releasing bundle packs or such, which is quite possible, but in general we get to look forward to more items than necessarily themed packs.

Does anybody really like those?
Eh, I think you're misinterpreting the changes. The change for the 1-20 game is to be cover more of those popups and incidentals, and most likely include stuff like "how do I craft inventions", "how do I get to ouroborus and start a flashback" [since Ouro is going level ~14 now], and other aspects of the game that don't really get covered by the tutorial, but new players still need to be educated on.

I guess prolly better to think of it similar to the those tip pop-ups only with some game content to showcase them better.
  16. Nerve is nice for defense heavy builds.

It also frees up a lot of your enhancement slots from Accuracy concerns, so it can be pretty nice.

And with Ageless getting introduced, it's really easy to manage your recovery now.

I am more interested in the tutorial, I finally get t see the entire Phalanx out and about actually doing something.

On a side note: Why does Praetorian BaB look black while the Primal BaB looks like a Jose Canseco clone?! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jose_Canseco
Marauder has more ambient light in his shots and in generally in a shinier locale?
  18. The shots themselves look good. The transition/declarations were annoying.

I really do prefer the softer background music with a narrative explaining stuff for the trailers. It feels more Comic, and less speed.

Well, I'd also argue it could make it easier to 'work' up to a purple set or such. Or work into changing a set without completely locking down your ability to earn enhancements [sure you can just gleemail it around, but].
  21. Thank you, wish they could have recorded .

Neat to see the costume powers going on the market. Weee.

I am more interested in seeing how they handle the effects of the death [the content issues] more than the death itself, sad no?

Me sad about Energy Rifle/Beam Gun differences. I hope they can manage something, since the Energy Rifle feels so underused [because of it being in only one set].

Pretty much, voice overs are very expensive for MMOs since they require studio time and scheduling with the talent.

Although, it's very easy to 'cut corners' and not do studio work for the voiceovers, but you'll find many quality issues crop up then.

    Hopefully I'm wrong.
I personally like the idea of having it just be timed exclusive.

Don't really need it ending up like BlizzCon.

Fun story just now, wasn't a cutscene bomb, but was just as annoying. After a death, saw half of a team just hanging outside the big door in lambda. Ya only 2/1 left, but half of a team just hanging out while 3-4 people were trying to get the last 2...

    Was frustrating.
