It's weird, especially to see folks charging for an AE farm, I mean. There's nothing really special about those. At least a TV farm or such takes 'some' effort to get to on your own, but an AE farm? Just whatever.

These are actually 'hybrid' zones which lean more to PvE offerings to begin with (as opposed to Arena PvP; which is just pure PvP) and it should play into its PvE strength rather than be the Arena's clone. And the rewards there are PvE rewards gotten by the PvE playstyle (except the recent addition of PvP IO Sets).

And it wouldn't have to be critical content... [but if a player can't finish an instanced because of what's happening outside of it...]
More to the problem, putting more PvE content in PvP zones will continue to depurpose them from being PVP zones. Adding more PvE content there would simply provide more ammunition to removing the pvp aspects of those zones. Especially as you state, pvp exposure is so limited.

While I [personally] wouldn't be against killing off the pvp-zones [I don't really pvp], if that course is taken, it should be done completely. And frankly, I respect and like the idea of the pvp climate at least existing for those who do enjoy it [or on the premise of finally fixing it].

Big Boss [Producer] now is Second Measure who took over for Ghost Falcon in Jan 2011.
  5. I, for one, am grateful for the broken store, for it has saved me 10$ of expense that I really don't need that much after having to think about it for a while.

Further research, though, seems to indicate that OpenGL is OpenGL everywhere and Nvidia doesn't support it any better on Win 7 than it did on XP.

Is there ANY current solution to playing CoH in 3D? It rejects even the notion of working with any of the OpenGL to Direct3D wrappers I've been able to find.
Buy a workstation-grade nvidia card. The quattros can do opengl in 3d. Not really a good solution because those are workstation cards.

I knew I lost another thought. That's prolly the big problem with finishing up anything involving the Shard though. It involves putting stuff in the Shard .

Although in general, ya. I mean how long have we been waiting for Darren Wade to let us know when he's further along?

At least, that arc, has some hints cropping up with the Malleus Mundi showing up in tips supposedly [have yet to see them myself]. Given Silos' remarks and the other lore remarks with I19 though, the Coming Storm may have been repurposed into the Incarnate storyline, at least somewhat.
  8. It sounds really nice in theory. But, I'm a brat. I would really like the old content fixed up, but I don't want to see dedication done to that end, because I still want new stuff as well.

Bugs etc should always get fixed as they crop up [pending priorities blah blah].

The process to revamp would be better done incidentally. The faultline revamp worked well because it was changing a Hazard zone [which was fairly empty] with a full fledged zone, and it gave them an excuse to fix Positron. The same is true for the RCS->RWZ revamp. That's fine.

So pretty much, I'd like to see revamps, but I would not like to see issue(s) dedicated to revamping.
  9. I'd certainly like to see the Shard revamped, but I understand it's a very special situation given just how massive each of the 4 zones are.

I want to see the Shard redone, but I've wanted to see that happen pretty much since I finished the Shadow Shard arcs the first time.

    [ edit ]
    Didn't finish my thought doh.
But honestly, I consider if I would rather see '4 new zones' instead. And I tend to accept putting the Shard on the backburner.
  10. I just know in April, that CoP will end up on WST.
  11. I think the problem, especially with the commons, is that there's little real value in actually posting them to the marketplace in the first place. Especially given how rarely even sell for vendor price for the materials.

Personally, I'd just like the level gaps closed red-side, be that through new coop or whatever, I don't much care. It's not really that important anymore since the conversion to merits. And when I start to think 'do I really want them to spend development time on a SF in 'that' level range?', I discover I'd much rather there be late-level content instead.

The starter station was the more content with NGE, the rest of the content was part of the expansion that had the grand misfortune of coming out one week before NGE.

However, a better example may be to consider AE.

I've run Kahn several times in the last month or two, and I'm seeing teams just drag the AVs in next to Reichs and murder them as afterthoughts while pounding on Reichs.

City has always made things more interesting by throwing more enemies at you, not numerically tougher enemies.
See, I thought that's how you were supposed to handle that fight in Kahn .

Dr Q is level 44, so you're not getting Alpha slot benefits.

You are not the only one. I understand that there are more problems with opening up the Shard, but I would like to think they could be managed in an easy manner.

Of course, I think the real problem is, they don't like the situation the shard is in either, and opening up the Shard to both sides will just draw more attention to it. A content revamp there is really necessary for it to progress. But, well, that's an expensive endeavor that isn't as likely to have the same fun return as the RCS revamp.

Although, re-enabling Rularuu invasions would be fun.

    Group Fly

Isn't a big part of the reason for the tohit debuff because Group Fly ignores travel suppression [kind of by necessity]?

Of course, it's a good point that the debuff pretty much destroys group fly's usefulness in general, but just something to consider. However, it also appears that Group Fly didn't get the base speed increase that fly and hover received. [Hover coming in at 21.5, Group Fly at 34.7 unslotted], of course, Group Fly still receives significantly more benefit from enhancements. Anycase, perhaps a change to make Group Fly more like a Group Hover instead?

It would reduce the usefulness of it to Masterminds who are using it for the rocket boot pets animation while traveling, but I think it would be a bit more useful for teams.
  20. Okie, hoping someone has actually done this and I'm just blind/lazy .

Does anyone know how the level shift interacts with level scaling mobs [Giant Monsters and the Rikti Invasion stuffs]?

That's always going to be a problem with a MMO as it ages though. We could hope for revamps as part of expansion budget [like say, the Ultra Mode touch ups we got], but it's really difficult to justify that sort of revamp.

Some companies can, and did very well with that, and I would like to see revamps happen, but, at the same time, I'd much rather see New stuff. And getting into a situation where you're spending most of your budget reworking existing stuff instead of generating new just doesn't feel good.
  22. I personally find it hilarious that you have rent due ;p.

    Flags

The only success I've had with search flags [since implementation] has been when I've forgotten I've had one set and wasn't actually searching anymore.

I'm also a bit spoiled now by the ebil autogrouping system some other games have, so I don't think much of the current tools.

    Mid's Problem

Hmmm, winXP, so shouldn't be anything too weird there.

    http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index....ic,3137.0.html

Sounds similar, but doesn't quite fit your situation, but it may be related, what are the system resources, and is he trying to run it while running CoH?

I think it would be less of a system programming issue and more of an art issue. That said, have the artists work at removing the war walls or have the artists work on Moonbase.
