  1. Rolling a new defender but I'm stuck on the decision wether to pair the new water blast with rad or cold. Rad gives AM a heal and all of its debuffs are aoes. Cold has arguably stronger debuffs towards hard targets being that they are ST, the debuffs aren't toggles it gives a boost to def via artic fog and I should be able to get by with sleet and waters soft control to deal with spawns quick enough. Asking the advice of the forums in case there is anything I have overlooked, or some angle I'm missing. Looking for all around pve, may try to see how I can push the envelope on bigger game hunting later on. Thanks in advance.
  2. So I'm looking to start a new brute the only thing I'm dead set on is da as his secondary, and that I want to either use staff or Titan weapons. Since I don't have much in the way of experience with either of those primaries I turn to you goo people o the forums for added input on all things staff and/or Titan weapons related as a comparison before I choose. Concept holds up just fine for either. Looking for people's opinions
  3. 2 questions. What is the accepted best st attack chain for rad and what does it equal out to in dps. With irradiate, does it have a chance to proc on every dmg tick, or just upon inital activation?

    Time/?

In the advent of time being awesome and my freedom of cleaning up some alts, was looking into starting a time/fire time/ice. Having no previous knowledge of the blast sets other then they both perform pretty well. I was hoping if anyone could lend a few thought to help me tip the scales in the favor of one. Thanks in advance
  5. So I've decided after a all this time to go ahead and finally roll a corruptor.
I would like to have a destined for greatness toon, with decent St/aoe ability so I'll probably roll with fire, but I'm mixed up on secondaries. Id like my toon to eventually solo av/gm's so And I'm on the market for something new. Time, cold, dark maybe rad(although I have done too much rad before) just looking for thoughts on effectiveness, fun, ability on the secondary, although wouldn't mind a throw in of other primaries too. Any and all contributions would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Barring some crazy circumstances, count me in. Caelius Starbreaker 53 shade.

If only we could color our powers like other AT's your editing has landed exactly on a color choice I would use. Kudos to that. I recently changed the aura on the 2nd picture to thunderhead to keep consistency with the other costumes plus bioplasma doesn't make the eyes pop as much as I would have liked. Also threw on the elemental order back pack and made it match the celestial armor .. Mostly for ***** and gigs. I'll post a screen or 2 when I get home. However all and all nice job THB.

It's quite possible.. If I'm not running missions I'm usually perched in atlas. Do stop by and say hello next time.

Yes I do remember seeing you now. Congrats on your hm.

  10. Also is this build reliant on inspirations to function?
  11. Thanks a ton for the reply... What epic/patron power did you go with on yours?
I'm looking more and more forward to rolling this toon
  12. So I've read and read about this combo but really havent pursued it past lvl 14. However my question for a big game hunter is still there and the allure of having the defender icon near my toons name lingers as well.

So some of my questions are..
Is rad/sonic really that delicious of a combo?
Is it clearly better running this combo as a defender vs a corruptor?
What ancillary or patron pools are recommended?
What are some basic tactics to rolling over an av/gm solo?
would rad/fire be a viable contender in this category?
Is the lack of aoe overcome by the kill things fast enough aspect to override aggravation?
Also if anyone has any "holy crap I can't believe I just did that!" stories or vids they can share that would be awesome.

Thanks for any and all help
  13. ok its not an av and it wasnt solo but it was a damn good time in terms of volume of carnage. was in the second mish of an ITF and we were deep in the caves and found ourselves a room with 2 crystal... in tp'd the stone tank and started going to work as i strode into battle thats when i noticed the 2 scrappers empowered by fulcrum shift branch off into the room.. the whole room came down on us right intime for the first crystal to explode triggering ambush one which quickly off'ed our kin and FA scrapper. seeing all this i just my eyes grew wide and i smiled. it felt kinda like a timed mission.. with the timer being the stone tanker's hp bar so i went to work as quickly as i could flowing in and out of forms while i watched names in my team bar turn up red one after the other.. i unleashed as much hell as i could. unchain essence here eclipse there quasar over here dwarf mire viod judgment over there .. crap stone tanks health is lowering .. quick mire and fill up with stygian jump to nova blast away bright orange numbers in the 300's all over the place stone tanks health at a 1/4 dove back in for another eclipse popped some vengeance on the FA scrapper just for some good measure.. i just kept going a log cabin of baddies built up around the tank just as he expired but there was still the remainder of the eb's and everything else the cave could throw at us so i kept plugged away exploasion after explosion... my health got a little low .. popped nebulous and ducked behind a corner tp'd tank real quick tp'd back into the fray unchained essence again right as they took my life.. but wait .. stygian return quasar quick blue and styg return and im right back in it by the time the tank got unstunned from the awaken there was what remained of an eb after unstoppable... a quick gravity well and there i stood amongst a sea of romans while others started to rez.... then i got the tell from my sg-mate .. "dude your unstoppable"

i immeadiately went outside smoked a cigarette and went back to playing the game with a new outlook..

special thanks to the stone tank for his inital role as unmovable stone pillar, and to FA scrappers for always allowing me to use vengence every time its up. i used every ws power i had with the exception of orbiting death i think..
thank you warshades for giving me one of the best times in this game.

    /SS vs /fire

as a seconday which one would be better at dps vs hard targets. i thoroughly enjoy rage and it give a huge heap of dmg and although the crash is only 10 seconds its still a crash. would fire eek it out over a prolonged fight with the occasional build up?

im inclined to think that the answer is ss purely based off of rage. any insight on the 2 powersets vs each other would be much appreciated
  15. I'm curious as to why you think it is solo sonic/rad is done better as a rad/sonic def

  18. Was considering rolling a fire/da I got a couple of questions how close can I get to soft cap defense to all positions barring I don't have something like parry to help out. I'll be io'ing him out on a moderate budget and I would like to see how far I can push the envelope with out hindering dmg as well as the other things that make da so nice. Does anyone have any suggestions or perhaps a sample build I can work with I have the basics down in using mids a well as knowledge of ios I happen to be in. Situation where I won't be by a computer for some time. I am open to all other forms of advice on te subject and haven't totally ruled out using broadsword. Thanks ahead of time for input. Figured I would add that build would b balanced for all around pve and maybe branch off into av soloing if possible. Thanks again
  19. Opinion question would putting forcefeedback chance for recovery proc in tornado or freezing rain be worthwhile considering it ticks so often?
  20. Hey all I have leveled up stormies before and I am pretty comfortable with the aspect of playin with them. However I have always played them with some aspect of hard control and my next endeavor is ill/storm. I've heard pretty decent things about the build and I like illusion and I like storm I figured let's go for it I am not however too up on io sets for trollers and would like to build this toon to eventually solo avs and be an all around wrecking ball as powerful as storm feels. If some one could post a moderately priced(although I'm ok with teetering on the more expensive side) build that can get me to these heigts it would b greatly appreciated

    SD/DM Build help

greetings all im currently sitting on a lvl 41 sd/dm tank loving the time i have with him looking into io'ing him out here soon looking for a reasonably cost effective build that soft caps me pretty well as well as boasting a decent recharge to get sc up often. considering pyre mastery but i have no problem goin without and epic only thing im stuck on is flight as a travel power any help would be much appreciated considering i dont have mids nor the knowledge on how to use it thanks ahead of time
  22. So in precisely 18 days I will be back in the lovely U.S OF A, from spending 7 months of this wasteland that some people call afghanistan, and plan to pick up the game again immediately.

Since i left off in the game tapping into the amazing world that is defenders what i was hopeing for from everyone here was:
what are some good/powerful/fun/interesting or even obscure primary/secondary combos
please feel free to enter any " holy crap, I cant believe that really just happened" or "I just did that!" moments you guys have had with your own builds

I love the diversity of defenders and all they can accomplish just throughout the one AT so ... dont be shy write somethine down that i can read to past these last few days
