You can whine all you want F but at the end of the day they still haqve more HOs than you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Since I don't ever PVP, I'm not quite sure I follow how it would matter to me how many HOs they have.

    F

    [/ QUOTE ]

They are better in PVE too and will b3e universially choosen over you both for their skill, their powersets, and their HOs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What will be universally chosen over me?

Are you saying that the players who own these characters will be "universally chosen over me" to do something, like a Hami-raid? Or a pickup group?

    * I don't do Hami-raids

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Me neither
    [ QUOTE ]

    * I don't even play my level 50 because RP-wise she was killed and resurrected as a (now 30th level) Kheldian

    [/ QUOTE ]
Me neither, but I don't play them just because there are no new powers to look for. I could care less about getting an extra 4% dmg in a power I already have.
    [ QUOTE ]

    * I don't play on pickup groups, ever.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That's where we differ, I *always* play in pickup groups, since normally there's like just one more person online in my SG and not in my lvl range, but I always group so I have no choice. By the way, the game should be more 'pickup group' friendly with a LFM flag for groups, but that's another topic
    [ QUOTE ]

    * No one in my SG has any HOs, nor wants any. We don't play level 50 raid content... we have 50s, but mostly retire them and start over with alts.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah me neither, well my SGs is a big list of retired lvl 50s. Guess I should just join another SG one of these days, oh well.
    [ QUOTE ]

    * Even if I played my level 50, I can do so on Invicible without any HOs. The game's already too easy -- why do I need to make it easier?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    AGREE 100%!!!!!!!!!
Problem is, when the devs want the game to be just a little bit more challenging, these posts get full of complaints of "nerf" and what not, the change to AVs is the perfect example. Now they'll make them easy as they were before
    [ QUOTE ]

I was addresssing the original point, which was that "good" Supergroups are those that do Hami-raids over and over again and powerlevel each other's toons to Hami SOs and the likes. I think that's an inaccurate generalization, because it depends on your definition of the word "good." Certainly, there's nothing WRONG with what they are doing, and I would agree it is a "good raiding SG." But not that generally it is a "good" SG, or that it is better than one that does not do this. It depends on your GOALS.

The goal of our SG is to roleplay, have fun, and enjoy the regular content of the game. None of us have interest in raids. I suppose to someone like you that makes me inferior. I prefer not to judge people "superior" or "inferior" but rather, to just let people play the game the way the wish. I'd never suggest that my group's M.O. was the only "good" way to be... and I think it's unreasonable to suggest that a Hami-raiding uberleet SG is the only way to be "good" either.

    F

    [/ QUOTE ]
Again agree with you 100%. The typical difference between 'raid guilds' and 'casual guilds' that have plagued MMORPGs since EQ1 started putting so much emphasis on mega-raids, things have just rolled over even to City of Heroes/Villains where there is no equipment to be farmed or camped, except for HAMI-Os. I say, good riddance! If I wanted to farm or camp stuff I'd be playing Evercamp
  2. Gratz. Just a question.
I noticed ALL the corruptors were ice/*. Is your SG theme based around ice?
  3. I tested it yesterday with my 40 mm and I like it, but...
let's face it, it's overpowered in PvE, not only that, it makes */dark masterminds even far more overpowered than they already were. Just sit and spam the AoE heal around your mobs. My /poison MM was almost godlike yesterday, and I only had a single target heal, can only infer what it's like with a /dark
  4. [ QUOTE ]
When you're done, can I have your stuff?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Nah I'm just respeccing out of the power, not dropping the character
  5. [ QUOTE ]

Either way the power is far from useless and is uber in it's own right. I can ask any Storm Defender or Controller right now if there going to respec Hurricane out of there build due to this nerf and they wil say No. It would be like me saying that Unyielding is pointless to take because they added a -5% to Defense and lowered the Mag protection. It's making Mountains out of Mole Hills.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I think you're wrong.
    I AM a storm controller
I WILL respec out of hurricane, the only use I have for hurricane right now is to try and keep meleers away in PvE (I don't do PvP), and that ability has been neutered from the power so, to me, it's useless now.
  6. Ouch, I really really don't like this change.
Come on, 100 people do PvP, 2000 don't... why again do we have to affect 2000 people so 100 have it better?
I used hurricane as a 'melee repeler', when things went south I would turn on hurricane so mobs wouldn't get to me... now that's not possible with a slower 'tick' that just means the mob will be repelled from my corpse

Well there will be a free respec with I7 so guess it's time to remove hurricane from my set, pity as it made perfect sense RP-wise, but I'm not picking a power only so I can use it in Pocket-D for flavor
  7. What you're seeing is that you're fighting a group that's very similar to a hero/villain PC group. What you're complaining about, I'm pretty sure if you look in the Tsoo's forum (which we as real people have no access to) you will find all the bosses complaining that controllers can sometimes hold them in one shot, and that we need to be nerfed
I just hope that if they find that some powers are bugged, powers that we as PCs use too, they fix it for both PCs and mobs. The game even after ED is still way too easy, we don't need any unfair advantages over the mobs.
Please devs, make us sweat through the battles!

Fastest time I got 'Toy Collector' on an Alt was 72 minutes. And that was delayed only because some others showed up during the run. 200 is nothing, gang. Yes, repetitious but stay focused on the goal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Took me 3 hours using super speed and I had figured out the spawn points in an unpopulated zone. Anyone using teleport, or no travel power would certainly take much longer.

Don't go saying "200 is nothing". 100 would serve just as well without dragging it out overly long. Being a holiday event, it should be fun, and beyond 50 or 100 it is just a chore instead of fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Your problem is that you wanted to do it all in one session.
I got some 50 the first day, then some 50 the second day, then after that I didn't even go toy-grabbing. I was playing normally, grabbing whatever toys I found on my way to missions and stores, and a few days later suddenly I open one and *splash* I got a badge
  9. Nooooooo!
Don't change this bug, leave it there I like it! Gives the zone a distinct personality
'Port Oakes, we will be with you forever!'
  10. [ QUOTE ]
For those of you who were in Beta, you know I always do my best to listen to the community, as does the rest of the Cryptic team. As always, we are all listening and watching. Nothing is permanent in an MMP. New features will be added, and things will change. Not every change will make your Hero more powerful, but it is our goal to make it more fun. Those are not always the same things. It is not fun if it is not challenging (that is, easy is not always fun).

My point is anything can change. If a change is bad, it can be modified. Many rants about Hasten hit the boards before most people even tried out the changes. Also, many of the upgrades and improvements to other powers were not even considered. So, for now, I am simply asking you to try things out for a while, and we will do the same. I promise things will ebb and flow until we hit a sweet spot. My guess is Hasten will not be reverted, but the pendulum will probably swing back the other way a little bit. The same may hold true for Accelerate Metabolism.

So, with that said, let me give you my 10 Commandments of Geko:
*I will always listen to the community (that goes for the boards, in game, and thru mining data and statistics).
*I will not be scared to be wrong.
*I will react as quickly as possible, but not sooner than needed.
*I will not be scared to be unpopular.
*I will not make a change to the game simply because it is popular.
*I will do my best to continue to make this game fun.
*I will not intentionally stealth nerf.
    *I will not reduce Accuracy.
*I will try my best to give you detailed information.
*I will make Statesman wash my car.

(well, 9 out of 10 aint bad)

    A few last words…

Please try to avoid rumors. We have no intention to stealth nerf. Once in a rare while a change goes out that falls off a patch note, or a change is made that affects things in an unforeseen way (technically, this is a bug). But it is not in out best interest to try to pull the wool over your eyes. If you think you see a problem, please politely let us know. Long ranting posts full of disrespect often gets ignored and a real problem may get overlooked. If you see a change that is not in a patch note, it may not belong there, but it may also simply have been overlooked. Either way, we will do out best to confirm things for you.

Finally, there are a lot of you, and these boards are huge. We read as much as we can, but we can’t read and respond to everything. But never assume you are being ignored. Remember, for most issues, please use the in-game petition tool.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I for one like the changes introduced, and please DO NOT roll back the changes to hasten. I played CoV beta and it was refreshing to see not *every single character* have hasten in their build. I had hasten in some of my characters and didn't in others. It was not a *must have* power, but it was still a very strong power.
Leave I6 changes as they are, they are very positive for the game and makes the game a lot more fun.
  11. Remember there will be an overal increase in mobs' health. Maybe (just maybe) fights will be longer and the drain will be more noticeable. The problem right now is that this effect is not because fights are just too short

    Statesman:

I love the new Outcast powers, in fact it's probably one of my three favorite things about the new update. They're very challenging to face, but employing reasonable tactics they're not impossible. Any halfway decent group should be able to face the Outcast without fear.

I'm begging you to collect data for another few weeks before making these adjustments because I think the existing player base just needs to learn to adapt new strategies for facing these devious foes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would you care to shed a light on this gem of wisdom you posess? What new strategies are important in these zones? More Conrollers? Nope, because controllers don't AoE hold at those low levels. More Defenders? Nope, they were already highly desirable. More Tanks? Nope, they too are already highly desirable at that level. More Scrappers? Nope, since there's not much AoE at these levels, Scrappers are as valuable as Blasters (perhaps more so).

Does it mean more hit and run raids to dwindle mobs? More pulls? Perhaps, but how heroic do you feel doing that? I'm not saying it's wrong, it's just doesn't make feel like a very super superhero. Does it mean more full groups of 6 to 8? Yes, it does. However not every player can spend all night waiting and hoping to get into a group. The few who are like me, who organzie groups find it takes a great deal of time, and it requires continual re-recruiting as players log out/quit.

I like to think I'm well versed in strategy. Every strategy I come up with for the new difficulty has a downside. Granted, most did before too, however the difference is much more dramatic now.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually controllers do AoE hold at those levels, it's called Flash.
To another post, no, people are not in the Hollows because it's 'new' and later it will be empty. The second contact (after the first one in Galaxy or Atlas) was (at least for me) the policeman in the Hollows. After a few missions, you get the third contact in Galaxy or whatever, so I was there to do my contact missions.
  13. just a couple of things.
    - First, you have the *option* to get those missions, you can always choose not to get a group mission. You don't have to 'clear' a contact's missions, that is just your personal idea that a contact must be 'cleared'. You're not losing anything by not choosing those missions, they are stand-alone, not part of storyarcs or anything.
    - Nerfing or 'fixing' a power is not the same as forcing people to group. The smoke grenade fix is a perfect example. It was making some blasters to beat groups of mobs 4+ levels above them without danger. This was making many other heroes useless, as controllers/healers/tankers weren't needed in a group with a smoke grenade blaster.
  14. Have you tried it? I've heard from people that have used the powers in test that the pets are actually more powerful now (at least the fire imps). They can take several swings now, and hit more often.
Basically, test it, see if the change is actually for the bad, come up with numbers, and we can discuss.
