    You're dodging the question...why should tanks do any more damage...they perform their role as they were designed by the game designers to do. The fact that you don't like the role they were intended to play speaks more to the fact that you are not a tank player, than it says anything about tanks being broken or needing a buff...or something else needing a buff/nerf for that matter.

    Brutes can theoretically run around capped to all resists, and theoretical physics can prove an elephant can hang off a cliff from a blade of grass...but that doesn't make it any more likely to happen. Nobody would bother trying, brutes are tough "enough", tanks are even tougher, you could argue superfluously so...but it doesn't change the role tanks were built specifically to serve and they serve it well. If you reduce brute resists caps, then an out of the box warshade with eclipse is now permanently tougher than any brute...period...at 85% resist cap, a warshade caps ALL RESISTS.

    Brutes can theoretically do slightly more damage then scrappers...I've personally never had a brute that hit 100% Fury sustained and hit the damage cap...ever. Sustaining 100% Fury is nigh impossible and would likely be impossible with any less durability as you have to take a ton of damage to get there and dish a lot back. However, scrappers can do max damage from the first swing, and don't have to chase enemies and take damage to build up Fury. That's why they don't need a taunt aura, they can do max damage straight out of the box. Brutes have taunt auras because they have to chase Fury. They're designed differently...it is what it is. Scrappers need not be any tougher, they do just fine.

    If you think brutes are so insane, then quit complaining and play them, if you don't like the playstyle...then stop complaining and leave it be. The devs have stated they are WAI, they are sitting where they are because the balance is in order. Trying to put a square peg in a round hole doesn't make you intelligent, or thinking outside of the box, or a balance wizard. Instead it makes you ignorant of the truths that this game was designed around by the people who designed it.

    Those are:
    (1) Tanks are most survivable and do the least damage
    (2) Brutes are slightly less survivable and do more damage
    (3) Scrappers do the most damage and survive well (with criticals and ATO procs it isn't a contest anymore)
    (4) Stalkers are least survivable and have the most burst damage

    Talking about toons running around hard capped out is a fools errand, and that argument will get you no more traction than any other fool who's tried to chase it over the last few years. Brutes are off the table, they are not up for a look, and this conversation is moot...beating a dead horse is getting old.

    You are a fool if you really believe that...look at scrappers with ATO critical procs and it stops being a contest, plus the ATO2 proc that's coming for them will make a GAP...that's right GAP between them and brutes, and a significant one at that.

    Look at pylon times, the best barometer we have to compare...Stalkers and scrappers ROUTINELY have lower times than brutes...so do Night Widows and quite a few Doms...

    Should we nerf all those ATs so brutes can be equal?? Of course not, the game wasn't designed for all ATs to be created equal. It was designed for all ATs to fill a role, and currently, all of them do that...you may not like the role some of them fill, but it makes it no less true.

    Why should tanks do more damage? They are WAI, how are they broken?

    Why should scrappers have more survivability? They are WAI and do more sustained damage than anyone...

    No, they pick farms that use a damage type their resists are already capped to...hence FA toons do fire farms...nobody eats 5 oranges and 20 reds before they run a farm...who do base this on?

    Brute farmers DO NOT eat pez to cap resists, they run FA and do fire farms...anyone who lied to you and said otherwise is talking out a hole other than their mouth.

    My observation in game is that I can maintain somewhere around 70-80% Fury sustained in normal play...farming you can get higher...but that's not normal play.

    Tanks can do all that too...a Tank at the damage cap is like a Brute @15% Fury with 100% enhancement in the power and 300% damage buff...where's the issue?

    Scrappers can't do it, but no one deals damage like stalkers and scrappers...

    Well, you'd clearly need proficieny with them, otherwise it would laughable at best and flat out comical at worst, up until the wooden "chuck" on the chin and an ambulance ride where you were out cold so bad you couldn't remember exactly what it was you were doing to end up in the hospital in the first place.

    Someone should film someone during that entire sequence of events for posterity now that I think about that for a moment. It has to have happened at least a few times before.

    I like them both pretty equally...

    But in a Corruptor, my vote would be for Dark/Cold...debuffs on both sides and some buffs from /Cold.

    Dark/Dark in anything is good.

    Rad/Rad is another good Corr/Defender combo

    Dark/Kin is fun...or Fire/Kin, Cold, Rad, Storm, Dark

    Controllers...I like Dark Control and Mind, Fire and Gravity, but I don't recommend Grav to just anybody, especially someone who isn't already familiar with support toons.

    Doms...I have a Fire/psi/psi...things melt so quickly it even amazes me sometimes...plus insane regen/recovery from Drain Psyche, lots of AoEs

    I used jab solely for a set mule, you are correct in guessing that I don't use it at all...my attack chain is KOB->Gloom->HM->Gloom repeat...I don't even use punch to be honest... I had 2 slots left over and slid them into jab for the +regen set bonus...I could respec and move them, but it wouldn't change much of anything enough to matter one way or the other. If I put them in rage, I suppose I could change the to-hit buff and recharge...but I stack rage for 57 seconds already...and I don't miss now. I could put them in tactics or something like that and reduce endurance costs...but it would be less than 0.1 net end recovery gained with 1 slot and less than 0.2 if I used both even. I could put one more slot each in health and Stamina....get a numinas unique and a perf shifter end mod in there...other than that...that's about the only thing that would be really useful...and I don't really see a need for it at this moment.

    Set bonuses...it allows me to use a set that will get me more recharge and +max endurance without taking an extra pool power. It doesn't hurt to have a ranged power when you're occasionally held as well, and it hits hard when you use it...(which admittedly is almost never) If I lose one bit of recharge I cannot run my attack chain without gaps. So, I used it specifically for that. Also, the way my build is setup, I could take dark obliteration, it's an AoE, and I suppose I could slot it with a purple, but I don't have the interest in it enough and I honestly never use anything but KOB/GL/HM/GL and an occasional FS...everything else is to run that chain and get defense/recharge/hp/end where I wanted it.

    I could have done this I suppose...

    Fire / Storm

    You're not getting much use out of the 3rd recharge redux in summon adept...it's almost worthless using that slot for that in that power.

    Charged armor could be slotted much better...there's a lot of resists you're missing out on with it slotted that way.

    More accuracy in powersink

    Use 3 LotG in weave(+Rech, Def, Def/End), if you want 4 use the Def/End/Recharge or Def/Rech

    Tough could use 3 Aegis and the steadfast or 4 reactive + steadfast 3%

    Vengeance can use a +rech LotG it is far more useful

    Assault is using a slot that isn't doing much with the 3rd end redux

    Manuevers can take 3 LotG pieces...do that, it works a lot better.

    Freezing Rain needs damage...LOTS more damage and Recharge

    That should help you for starters.
  11. Slot Soul Drain with 5 armageddons and a to-hit buff L50+5 IO and slot Dark Consumption with 3 erads + 2 scirocco/multistrike (or 5 oblits) and a L50+5 endmod IO.

    Shadow Maul is good...but those 2 are AoEs that hit far more targets and can be made to deal above average damage. There's more AoE in DM than most people think.

    Archery/Miasma

    Archery/Dark...looks a lot of fun...if it was me, I would actually slot tough a bit better and reduce the end consumption...but...other than that...you burned a lot of slots in tactics and aim...I think you could have spared some there...but I haven't looked in mids. Aim alone will get you instasnipe...tactics is pretty superfluous...I would take assault for more damage...but it's up to you.

Higher damage is a form of mitigation, but even assuming the brute puts out twice as much damage the tank comes out ahead from a survivability standpoint while doing less damage.
    Thank you, I have tried about 3-4 examples in this thread and the last one...that should be laymen enough for anyone to understand!

    The build won't be that bad, they're not nearly as bad as they used to be....you can buy a set of 5 panaceas now for less than 1 bil inf if you're not after the proc.
  23. 2 things:

    After proc changes in i24 you'll want to swap slotting in GC and SD...the heca proc will fire much better in SD and your attack chain will be BU-GC-SD-GC-GD

    You could accomplish virtually the same numbers or even a tad better by taking 3 oblits out of flashing steel and 3 out of lotus drops and putting 3 pieces from the Superior scrappers set in those instead. You could likely even save a slot here or there to use elsewhere if you wanted. Splitting the set up into 3s will get you 10% S/L def or 5% melee. Very useful...

    Also, if you swapped a few of your doctored wounds sets for Panaceas you'll pick up the recharge you lost by taking out the oblit pieces.

    These changes are reflected here and I far and away recommend you stick to this build the numbers are just flat out better than on the other...
