  1. Sadly the only way this can be controlled is through the Tankermind build. Which of course limiting on your build. Granted my Robot Traps is a BEAST without any purple IOs. And I can solo +8 +3 with it. But pretty much the way it is laid out at the moment your pigeon holed into a build regardless of theme or concept because of a long on going game issue that seems no serious attention or concern is being done to correct.

So it is broken but the work around isn't crippling. So in the Devs eyes its all good.

    Group Fly idea

Anything would be better then what they have now.

I always said change Group Fly to Grant Flight. Basically you buff a player to allow him to fly. The player pays for his own endurance cost and Pets pay for their own endurance cost. Similar to how Speed Boost works in concept.

But without a doubt your idea seems much easier then reworking a power.

I started noticing when I didn't run WoC my endurance recovery was much better. Or I should say when WoC would drop I started noticing that my Endurance recovery was much better.

There where time when all I could do was use burst as I waited for my endurance to get back up. I wasn't getting hit much but it was tough at times. End result missions took longer then needed at times.
  4. For those that might be interested

After looking at what WoC was giving me and how much it cost, it just was not worth the value. I seen more noticeable effect from the Poison trap 2 mag proc then I did from WoC.

I did a respec and went with Electric mastery and picked up power sink. If I wasn't so lazy I would have went villain to pick up Mu Mastery which I think might be a bit better because you can pick up the Mu pet and have Power sink at the begining.

I don't know what some might think is better an AOE attack which you have available all the time or a pet on a timer. But a good pet from what people say about it sometimes..

Either way I purposely drained my end just to see how Power Sink worked. Without a doubt working as intended and expected. Instead of making blues now with my inspirations I can make Reds to boost my DPS. Pretty much before all I was doing was making blues or slowing down my attack chain because I was low on end.

I also put a hold proc in the Power sink. Again Working well, it is similar to the poison trap proc just 10% instead of 15%.

I don't know if Poison Trap and Power sink hold procs can stack. And if they did what exactly would stacking them do to help me out.

At this time I can't think of anything bad about the build. Solo you get 30% damage increase. A lowest level red inspiration gives you a damage increase of 25%, so total your getting 55% damage increase when solo.

Any less than a 20 level difference and you'll need a lot of patience to watch it happen.
I sort of tested this out on gray cons. I noticed when I stood near gray con mobs they would get the damage but act like nothing was going on.

I am more trying to use WoC as an additional damage mitigation tool. But with the additional slots I went with Damage Procs along with the Purple IO CC proc.

I Need to just do nothing and see how WoC with all the Procs and such is really working out.
  6. Okay I got to 50 did a respec over to tatum build, since it was clearly superior to mine. Its a bit endurance heavy. If I can get together another 40 million or so I will slot up another Purple confuse IO in World of Confusion.

I slotted a few damage procs in it atm. Another Coercive Persuasion will give me a 4% end increase. Which is better then nothing I guess. I could slot Detonation with Damage / Endurance swapping out another from those powers using that set. Which might help the Endurance issue.

I was able to use some hero villain points to buy up 2 LOTG global recharge IO and had a drop for a Defense / Recharge LOTG. If I can pick up another LOTG global recharge and 2 more replacements IOs from LOTG. Trip mine should be coming up pretty darn fast. And the Health regen should be a nice added bonus. Further the Global recharge will allow me to spam pretty much any of my quick AR attacks and still get some endurance gain.

While Respecing I was tempted to change up and go Electric Mastery. I have a Dark Electric Defender with Power Sink is VERY Helpful in the endurance recharge Department. But I really wanted to try something different. Or even going to villain side to pick up Mu Mastery. I could pick up Power Sink Charge Armor and Summon Adept.

Lockdown in Poison Trap is nice.. The chance for +2 Mag hold from lockdown set goes off A LOT and it lingers along with the Poison trap. So just when you think the poison trap wore off, bam someone is being held. Just goes to show you how long poison trap last. It also is holding Orange con mobs on a regular basis which is nice

I'm going to stick it out a bit and see how it goes with World of Confusion. But if it becomes a real pain then I will switch over for Power Sink.

The Defense Cap is great, it's a decent build. I have nothing to complain about except the endurance, But only because my powers are cycling faster then I can use them. Will hold out till i19 and hope they fix the way players respec.

I changed up your build and added 4 procs in it. I was able to pick up the purple IO as well.
  8. Look up Ratero and run his build.

I have his build in the same thread just cheaper. Of course cheaper means less firepower and such.

As a test to make sure I am running my missions on +8 +2 with bosses and have NO issues. Again, no purple sets.

I am going to kick it up to +8 +3 and do some more looking. But without a doubt it is one of my best kick butt toons.

I finally figured out the level 50 setup and it gives me no issues.

Caltrops ( Trip Mine in the middle )
    Me
    Poison Trap
    Trip mine
    Triage Beacon
    Acid Mortar
    Trip mine
    Bots

After that I just drop all Traps at my feet if the fight is going on still.

There are times I just Provoke and caltrops
  9. Is this a bug that keeps them quiet even after the emote is done or it is just good while the emote is in effect ?
  10. Ahh you stink Tatum now I need to respec.

But I think its gonna score.. I will let you know.. Of course I will need to respec again when fitness go inherit. Hopefully they will introduce a new way to respec with i19

I dont know about you but I like to play my lvl50s so I dont mind having long range goals since I love running SF's/TF's.

Ok I'm gonna spend sometime playing around in mids so I'll be editing this post to add more if I find any better options.

    - I see a great opening once i19 Inherent Fitness comes you can get your fighting pool moved up into your 20s. This will make you more exemplar friendly with more defense at a lower lvl and your -KB protection

    - I like taking Poison Trap as soon as its available. Why wait till 18?

    - I'd take Slug early so you can have an attack chain. I'd take this at lvl4 and as above to get Poison in early push Triage Beacon back to lvl14. In the lower lvls when you have poor recharge Triage Beacon is very situational.

    - Why Red Fortune is it a question of Money? All of those will have FAR better bonuses with LotG's not to mention the +7.5%recharges. If those Red's are for the +2%dmg dump it really you wont miss it and right there you just free'd up slots. 3slot the shields def/def,end/def,end,rch

    - Replace basic Heal IO in health with Numi Heal for +12%regen bonus

    - Now once i19 goes live I see a bunch of ways to shuffle things around that will make the build a bit more streamlined but we have to wait for that =)
Money is an issue, but actually I had LotG in the build and intend on spending some money / hero tickets / merits to pick up LotG IOs and the recharge. Numi you can't get with Hero tickets will see if I can get it with Merits.

I didn't look at the build yet. I just want to post some comment related to this post first.

    Yes.. Without a doubt

I looked at it last night a bit more. They really, really need to spice this power up a bit.
  13. I would like to post a build and get some insight on it. I am currently at 49 with it and have 3 ( or is it 2, I forget ) slot available to place once at 50.

I have ignite slotted with 3 Positron blast atm and was going to slot the next 2 at level 50 in ignite and add one aegis resistance to mind over body.

I was also considering placing contagious confusion proc in world of confusion tatum mentioned to me in another thread. And maybe just Frankenslot Ignite forgoing the extra recharge bonus of Poistron blast IO set.

If anything seems odd, EG seeker drones, it is because I needed the range Positional defense. Of course the dark watcher is in there just for the added bonuses to end. With all the toggles running I figured I should try to get as much as possible. I guess I could move Dark Watcher slots to another power. Which as of this posting sort of seems to make a bit more sense.

Anyways I don't want to bore you anymore and babble on. Here is the build I can certainly try to explain something that might not make sense. I would really like to keep my positional defense caps. But willing to listen to anything.

  14. What I found to be an issue is with placement type powers the lag makes it very hard to drop stuff on the ground. I have tried several times to drop a Triage beacon on the ground but it would just not drop. Once it did I discovered you had to key up the next power for it to work. The minute you stopped you would have to start and try to get it it going again. I would have my pets goto here just to keep my chain going.

I will need to look that up I'm in the dark with confuse IOs..

Tatum I will say this I think the build could be better. I'm just a bit lazy trying to figure out how to make it better.

I do notice World of confusion going off, but of course the minute they step out of the smallish circle it wears off. At first I panicked a bit because for some odd reason when I first picked up world of confusion I could not drop a trip mine. I though that world of confusion was causing some sort of interrupt. But it's all good now. Just had some issue targeting the floor for some odd reason.

I will post the build for people to look over and give some insight. I have yet to post a build that I thought was perfect that someone didn't fix to make it even better.
  16. Bot Traps without a doubt. Even if you went Demon traps one nice AOE hit from a AV will kill your pets. With Bot I can put myself out in front of the Triage Beacon with the pets behind the Triage Beacon but still be effected by it. Demons tend to run into melee
  17. I have a AR Traps full positional defense cap. I picked up world of confusion to help mitigate damage a bit more. I can see it working a bit.. I only have it one slotted atm for endurance. But at 50 I have 3 more IO placements left. I can either slot for additional recharge or I can use the 3 slots and put them in world of confusion if I can get better results out of it. Assuming someone knows first hand I will. I know some powers sometimes are just not worth slotting more then 1 or 2 IOs in it. I just don't know if World of Confusion is one of them.
  18. Thanks for the reply, I didn't think of the Build up Proc that way. But it makes sense. I do have the Achilles heel Proc in there atm.

I understand the tip comment, but what is the 22 mission part at the end of your statement?
  22. I did some searching and didn't see an answer for this.

I was considering putting in Decimation Chance for Build up Proc in Acid Mortar.

I am wondering does it have a chance to go off for each mob hit by Acid Mortar or just when it fires ? Since Acid Mortar has a 10 shot capacity Just looking for what the best proc to slot in it atm.

BTW I only have room for 1 Proc. Its a defense cap build, so thats all I have atm for Acid Mortar. I know many will be chiming back to slot it with many Procs. I would if I could though.

I'm misunderstanding the thread ? I am pretty sure the title makes it clear.. Do you know what a black hat is ?

They clearly talk about buying up IOs and selling them at a MUCH higher price.. They discuss about buying up 1 IO out of a set and then reselling them for a much higher price.. They also discuss about just deleting the IOs.

Here is the deal. I play 2x a week. for about 4 hours a day.. Over 5 years I picked up maybe 5 or 6 purple IOs.

When someone is selling Obliteration IO for 50 million.. To a player like me it might as well be 1 billion.. I just tried my chance to get a Obliteration IO from rolling silver rolls which gives me a 50% chance to get a rare from table A and rolls from table B.. Since both tables had Obliteration IOs I gave it a shot.. I tried to roll for lower levels since it was slightly cheaper. After spending 6000 tickets I didn't get a single Obliteration.. I did get a crap load of turtle something from the slow set. 6K worth of tickets is about a months worth of work.. Pretty much all down the tubes.

I can not afford persay to waste my time playing wall street game when I want to play city of heroes.. I do sell some stuff, but again I do not have 10 hours in a day to research what the latest and greatest IO is going to be. Or what electric characters IOs I should buy out and flip for a much higher price..

TF give you 25 Merits, I might be able IF I am lucky ( and that is a BIG IF ) do 2 a game session. The reality is I might get in 1 a session. So that is 50 Merits a week. If I was lucky enough to get into 1 TF per session It would cost me 1 MONTH to be able to pick up a LOTG recharge. Just ONE LOTG. I'm not even talking about purple sets here.. Forget about Purple sets for this discussion..

The real reality is I don't get into a TF every night I play. Unless maybe if I hang out with my Kin every night. But as many I want to play other toons also. Those other toons don't get invited as much as my Kin persay. So I might, which as of this writing I don't, but I might get 200 merits a month if I put mind to trying to accomplish something. Again do you think that is right or fair ? Hey I understand you, you have much more time to play then me. So you can do all these things. I don't straight and simple.

But when I do run missions I do get salvage. I can afford 1 million to 2 million a week to buy some salvage.

Why can't a average player get the chance to have some decent stuff as well. Why is it required I need to go to the market to buy IOs.

TIP system. Okay Every 10 missions I get a Hero / Villain Merit. Which I can use every 20 hours. First off I have done these missions as mentioned on -1 +1 setting. Let me just say even at that setting these missions do not take minutes as described. Especially ones like the one where you need to do the 3 escorts out of the mission. So again I am compelled to do 5 hero / villain merit missions when several of my toons in attempt to farm some tickets for the following week when I can turn some in.

I know all this stuff seem trivial when you have all the time in the world to spend. But many don't.. Why can't I use the items that drop for me in the normal course of game and convert them to what I want. At least now I am not pegged to running 5 hero / villain missions on my toons then trying to get a TF/SF. Selling the IOs I don't need. Figure out if I can make more selling them crafted or uncrafted. Move stuff around from toon to toon.

You know those Orange con Pacing of the turtles, I don't need them. And they sell for garbage. So for the amount of time I spent on the obtaining those tickets I feel cheated. I feel like I'm a hamster on wheel with no reward at the end. And its a bit disheartening and a bit of BS for spending 6k in tickets and getting nothing out of it that I can use on any toon. Or sell for any real value so I can buy something I can use.

Now if I could break them down into some sort of salvage to make another IO or build up my supplies towards making that IO I might need. Then at least I feel I have gotten something out of them. At least they went towards something I can use or eventually use. But as of now I got junk for a lack of a better word.

I mean really think about it.
By the time I log in and square my stuff away and what not. I'm already down 30 to 40 minutes. I'm down to 3 hours and change. Unlike what one poster said about doing 5 missions in 10 minutes. Another 20 to 40 minutes later for the TIP missions. I'm down to 3 hours or less. Again that is just one toon. If I get lucky and get on a TF / SF thats another hour. Even if I am hanging around Cim or RSF waiting for a speed run or just doing it normally time is going to wasted. Again this is assuming I am running on a 50. If I am doing something on a lower level toon much of this can be kissed good bye.

The simple thing your missing is you have to either run AE missions or Do TF / SF every game session. Why should I have to do either or both or any. Why can't I obtain what I want through normal game play of running radio missions or doing the many, many story arcs the game has to offer.

What your saying is the AE system and TIP are part of the normal game play. They are absolutely not, they are additions, but not part of the regular game play. Otherwise it wouldn't matter if you were doing a hero or vigilante mission for the TIPS, but it does. You can't be screwed by doing a radio mission or story arc mission. AE missions are in a building in certain zones. You don't leave the building. IF that is what this game is about then might as well get rid of the zones and have you just log into that building after creating your toon. So again AE is not standard game play.

Story arcs a flawed as I mentioned. If you help a player do 8 out of 9 missions for a story arc you get ZERO credit.. Even if you have the contact or could get the contact. You would have to do all 9 missions all over again.

End result normal game play for a average player is useless. You get random drops during missions, you get random drops for AE system and the Merit system in one shape or form has limitations placed on it. Understandably why, but nonetheless Limitations are there.

Again a to a Billionaire a million is not a lot. I think that is the way many of you guys are thinking about this. Hey dude, every night when you get on do this and this and leave the weekend to doing this and this. Well if I could get on every night then maybe it would be good.

I could understand if someone feared that a player might flood the market with IOs and lessen the value of a IO, thus preventing you from making billions. Then just tag the IOs created by players as not trade able or sell able.

Your right I don't, but it seems they do. I think you can do your own searching in that forums for other similar threads.

Average players are not doing Trials, Strike Forces or Task Force missions every day. The average player is doing regular story arch and radio missions. Unfortunately I can get an invite to a team in which the Team Leader is running his story arch and has already started and has done the 1st or 2nd mission already. So though I am gaining the regular Inf and Exp. after running the story arch missions only the TL ends up getting the merits for the arch. Even if I have the contact but just never picked up the mission from him.

I am doing the TIP missions pretty much as to what was mentioned already. I thought it was something else others might have been talking about. Regardless the above reply still holds true.
