    Music and CoH???

I usually play new mixes I'm working on in the background.

But for the "who do you like" portion:

    1) Radiohead
    2) Prodigy
    3) The Beatles
    4) The Police
    5) Bob Marley

  2. I don't usually make SG recruitment posts...but I'll make an exception for you. ; )

The Pillars of Might would be happy to let you try us out for a while and see if you like it(see: sig).

There's always at least a couple of us on and we still run our SG nights every week; with turnouts of about 6-12 players on that night and on weekends. Not huge; but all good folks - and some you may know from the boards. (Dinah Might, Si, Darc Ranger, Synch, Solar Eagle, Maya Shakti, myself, etc.)

Most SGs seem to be much smaller now; with the global channels being the primary sources for teaming.

But, really, there are still a TON of great groups around (HoJ, RdlV, etc.) Why not try out a couple and see where you "fit" best?

No; they do not have to be in attendance.

  4. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Paragon City - February 4th, 2011 - The time has finally come when we are proud to announce the debut of C.A.P.E., The Champion Association for Player Events!

Since its inception in early December of 2010, many former P.E.R.C. representatives and Champion community members have been hard at work behind the scenes developing the foundational layers of what is expected to be Champion's "prime network" for player event support and entertainment. C.A.P.E. prides itself on the philosophy that it is the Champion-exclusive event group dedicated to providing events "By Champion, For Champion." Additionally, Champion will stand behind its motto of ensuring that we are "Always Behind Our Champions!"

In addition, the founding members have already been working hard behind the scenes to create a GuildPortal website which will house many of the beneficial resources that community members can access in order to garner support for Player Events they wish to run. The site will be home to membership applications, forums, surveys, resources, and much more. This portal will serve as the core of the network and help to align both community and members alike in ensuring that all future events can tap into the fundamental resources available on Champion. This will be the most integral place to visit when drafting up ideas for events or looking for ways to help gain support in areas you might find your events lacking. C.A.P.E. invites anybody to step forth and visit the website today and help become part of the association. You can visit our website today at www.ChampionCape.com (website is under construction and always evolving)!

We want to first thank everybody for their patience and support as it has taken a considerable amount of time to get the association up and running. Additionally, we thank everybody in the community who helped provide feedback and contribute to surveys that helped shape the way the association will be ran. As always, we look forward to seeing where this new event group will take our community and cannot wait to see the benefits our community will reap.

For more information about C.A.P.E. and how you can get involved please visit us at www.ChampionCape.com or e-mail us at championcape@gmail.com!

    Sincerely,

    C.A.P.E.

Silas! Look! Somebody two threads over is making fun of Corruptors!

Now we'll be free to chat. ; )

  6. Glad to hear it! Stay tuned for updated event and prize information very soon.

Amily and Kahlan have really put a lot of effort into this one. So spread the word; it should be a blast!

  9. I'm not going to bash any other servers; they all have some great players and unique things to offer.

Why I would recommend Champion to ANYONE:

    1) We are extremely active with TFs. We have two server-wide channels (both of which are usually full) dedicated to help with this (and GM hunting, team-finding, etc.).

    2) As you mentioned, there are a lot of great writers here. From Juzam's interviews, to Silas' guides, to lots of our better-known players posting help in other forum sections; there are creative folks here who want to help.

    3) We have the longest-running CoH event in the game, here: Tanker Tuesday. We also have a Champion-only events committee that throws events in addition to the ones found on every other server.

    4) We have good people here. Every server does; but people here will really go out of their way to help you if you're seeking it. Look at any post made recently for help and I'll pay you if you see the poster mocked or alienated - we really do try to take care of our own.

    5) There are a good mix of players. We have some EXCEPTIONAL PVP-ers here, lots of SGs that are still around from the game's inception, and some Goldside/Redside players, too. We are not LOW population; we're 4th or 5th on the list, usually. Big enough to be fun and small enough to be personal - the best of all worlds.

I play on Virtue, too (Started the name thread sticky and some others there); and I like that server a lot, too. There are some GREAT people there.

But Champion is home. Like some of the regulars say: Champion or GTFO.

  11. My favorites:

    1) Croatoa
    2) Shadow Shard
    3) Dark Astoria (especially without the fog)

  12. CU is another Champion-wide channel that is primarily used for teaming, TFs, etc. BMT is PG-13; with talk confined to the game. CU is more of a "anything goes" channel. You'll find that people on the boards will try to argue one against the other; but both channels are just fine and serve their purposes.

    -------

As for the tip system; I sent a PM with a link and a simplified breakdown of information.

  13. I noticed a few Pingus are running with HoJ, now (real good folks).

I assume you're on BMT or CU (or both - each channel has its merits); those are always great avenues for teaming, too.

Failing all that: Add me to your friends list and I'll run with you anytime you want.

    Good luck,

  14. LOTS of people you know should still be around. (And Hello!)

It's why books are usually better than movies; the story is always better the way YOU imagine it.

Do get me wrong. I have kicked out SG members, but I'm talking about the rare "child behind the keyboard who says "F" every second word.
    This.

I have been really blessed to have been around so many quality people and players.

  22. See, everybody says that; but I had my last laptop for 5 years with no issue(s), and Missy had her desktop for almost 10 years with no issues until this year.

That being said, I am aware that this does not dispute the obvious numbers/facts........so I took everyone's advice and went the Complete Care warranty.

    Thanks, again, all.

  23. Thank you for the replies and PMs, all. Appreciated.

    Last question.

I'm going to take your advice and go warranty. Do I want 1 year of "complete care" or 2 years of the limited with in-home service after remote diagnosis?

1 year of great protection vs. 2 years of decent protection. Thoughts??
