Gaming Laptop Question - Advice Please
It's a Dell.
I'd go for the Warranty period, as chances are you'll need that long before you need to watch Blu-Ray movies or need more processing power.
Vote #3 for warranty. They pay off more often than not.

Thank you for the replies and PMs, all. Appreciated.
Last question.
I'm going to take your advice and go warranty. Do I want 1 year of "complete care" or 2 years of the limited with in-home service after remote diagnosis?
1 year of great protection vs. 2 years of decent protection. Thoughts??

Dell repeatedly comes in last in terms of Customer Satisfaction, carrying home ignoble wards from the likes of Forbes and Consumer Reports.
Ergo: I don't think that you are going to find that the words Dell and great protection belong in the same sentence.
If my own experiences are any indication, Dell will do everything in it's power to squirm out of honoring the in-home service part of the 2 year contract. More than likely their remote diagnosis will consist of a phone call and a cost to you to ship them the laptop.
As far as I am aware, Dell generally doesn't squelch on their 1 year warranties though.
See, everybody says that; but I had my last laptop for 5 years with no issue(s), and Missy had her desktop for almost 10 years with no issues until this year.
That being said, I am aware that this does not dispute the obvious numbers/facts........so I took everyone's advice and went the Complete Care warranty.
Thanks, again, all.

Since your getting the XPS, I would say 1 year of complete care. Friend had one and it had nothing but mother board problems. It was replaced once his warinty ended.
Just remimber 99% of the time when you get a replacement part for the laptop it will be refurbished. At times refurbished items can be good. (My current dell had the HD replace with in the 1st 3 days but worked great since).

Nothing saids its your spot like an ourob. Portal dropped on the ground.
Long story short; Dell messed up my order and they're offering me $250 of upgrades on my new XPS 15 laptop.
My question? Which of these items, in your guys' tech-savvy opinions, would be the best "bag for my buck" in upgrades:
1) Upgrade from I5 to I7 processor. --> This will reduce battery life and increase heat dispersion. And, funny enough, the I5 they offer has a higher max (Turbo) speed than the I7..though obviously the I& has more thread and a faster response time.
2) Adding a TV Tuner or BLuRay player. I can almost both if I go this route; or I can add at least one and add the 1080P screen option.
3) Additonal Warranty - Only have the year basic and its refurbished; might be nice to add a year or two on a high-end machine like that.
WWCD? (What would Champion Do?)
Thanks in advance,
