I don't usually make SG recruitment posts...but I'll make an exception for you. ; )
The Pillars of Might would be happy to let you try us out for a while and see if you like it(see: sig).
There's always at least a couple of us on and we still run our SG nights every week; with turnouts of about 6-12 players on that night and on weekends. Not huge; but all good folks - and some you may know from the boards. (Dinah Might, Si, Darc Ranger, Synch, Solar Eagle, Maya Shakti, myself, etc.)
Most SGs seem to be much smaller now; with the global channels being the primary sources for teaming.
But, really, there are still a TON of great groups around (HoJ, RdlV, etc.) Why not try out a couple and see where you "fit" best?

Make a personal base, jump on those two global channels, and have a blast. The global channels are ideal for people with hectic schedules. There's no commitment, no hard feelings if you don't make the Tuesday Hami raids, and there's way more folks on those channels than any SG.

Although, I believe both channels are full and now both channels require an invite. I have been having good luck with Champion Redside channel since joining.

Let me preface this by saying I have looked at the SG/VG recruitment thread and it is not helpful.
After my last hiatus I was curious who has a semi-regular cadre on during the week. The background is my original SG (Select Few) is a shadow of its former self with guest appearances now and again from the old regulars. Im looking for a place to hang the hat of a few of my new toons (praetorians, etc). As a caveat I will just get right out the fact that my work schedule is absolutely ridiculous and my play times often erratic. Therefore I cannot commit to any serious raid group or nightly teaming. I also do not want to join a group which is so structured that there is no place for a casual gamer. Finally any megalomaniac SG/VG leaders dont waste my time as I have none for you. Therefore, if anyone is looking for an old grumpy tanker please send me a PM so I can evaluate where myself and maybe a few other friends may merge a few toons.
