Quote:Yeah. Until you have to go looking all over the map to defeat that last enemy that ran like hell so you can free the hostage and finish the mission. Sometimes they don't come back and it can take a while to track down the punk who took off.Mobs running away is cool because you won't have as much damage cause hes running away

I did go to Night Ward to do the Trilogy and Fireball missions finally. I noticed the day job badge icon for Midnighter shows up in the status tray outside the mansion as well as inside the first room of the mansion (does not appear in the cave-like area in the back).
-
Well I did not know that. But yeah the mission is short enough to complete.
-
I've noticed some safegaurd/mayhem maps are really off. Your character's actual location is displayed improperly on the map. You could be on the west side of the map and it will show your character out of bounds on the far east side of the map as an example.
Edit: The in-game map not displaying character location properly is really troublesome when going for badges in some of the bank missions. -
Heh. I have a braodsword/shield scrapper with the ghoul tantrum emote from the Great Escape Neutropolis zone event. When using the ghoul flex emote while my shield is active, my character roars like a Cimeroran Traitor enemy instead of dropping on the ground and going spastic like a defeated ghoul. Personally I love it.

Quote:#1 You have to be at least level 35For a while now it seems that I haven't been getting any V-merits for completing missions with the Vanguard Recruit badge active. Is that happening for anyone else?
#2 You need to complete the first mission, Join the Vanguard, from the contact Lavantera to obtain the Member of Vanguard badge. If you do not have this badge, no matter how much time you have from your Vanguard Recruit day job temp power, you will not get a single Vanguard merit. Period.
#3 You must be at least level 35 to earn the Vanguard Recruit day job badge. If you are less than level 35 you will earn credit toward the badge but not earn the badge until you reach level 35.

Quote:Xunlai Storage in Guild Wars is account based. There is no individual storage/vault for each character. They all have access to the same single storage. I would like this implemented in CoH. I agree it is a real pain having to look for some salvage. It takes 30 seconds to log out to the character select screen, it can take another 30 seconds for some reason for it to actually load the character list, and occasionally I will end up with a connection error and be thrown back to the log in screen (Usually happens when switching between a few characters to check day job badges, but sometimes it happens the very first time I go back to the character select screen.)I would love that. I've seen similar stuff in other games that works well. Add-ons in WoW and Xunlai Storage in Guild Wars (not quite the same, but similar net effect). I am poor and hopping between characters looking for a piece of salvage takes a lot longer than I like.
But in order for them to change the vault system into a server wide vault that all characters on a server has access to, they would need to increase the capacity so it could hold a lot more salvage, perhaps based on the number of character slots you have on the server.
I would also like to have at least a 2 bill inf storage added to the vault (Guild Wars storage can also store gold), so if I need inf on a character I don't have to switch to another and mail it.
This would be a quality of life upgrade, but I doubt it will happen, at least any time soon, because they would have to completely overhaul the vault system to make such a change I imagine. -
Quote:Have not tried this out. I don't think they really care about fixing it at all.I just had a character spend a week in the Midnighter Mansion in Night Ward, yet it did not gain any progress on the badge even though the day job icon shows up while there. Can anyone else verify this?
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=288064 (Thread I started about a similar bug)
The auction house in Imperial City and the underground Imperial Resistance base also has a day job icon when you go there but no progress toward the badge is made. Not even a progress bar shows up in your badge list. Same situation as you: I left a character there logged out for several days and no progress bar period.
I sent in a support ticket back in February regarding the Imperial City auction house bug and it's been that way some time since before February.
I suspect the issues are related and can both be fixed at the same time, but like I said: THEY DON'T CARE.
Honestly. What is the point in having a day job icon show up if the badge progress isn't being awarded? If they don't want to fix it so you can earn the badges, then maybe they could just remove the icon from showing up.
Edited for typos.
Edit 2: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Imperial_City#Day_Jobs
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Undergro...erial#Day_Jobs
The wiki doesn't list an auction house day job badge for Imperial City or Underground Imperial City (Day job badges in Underground are inside the Resistance base in each city and you need to be Resistance alignment to access them)
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Night_Ward#Day_Jobs
The wiki DOES list the Midnighter day job badge for Night Ward though.
For Imperial City, my guess is the wiki doesn't list the Auction day job badge because it hasn't been awarded for quite some time and/or the badge was never meant to reward it in the first place and the icon showing up has been a mistake that was never addressed. -
Quote:For Windows 7 the folder that contains the saved builds by default is in C:\Users\(username)\My DocumentsBuilds are stored in the user's default documents folder and the program knows to look there after installed.
The nice thing is, if you uninstall Mids it doesn't delete the folder with the saved builds.
For my personal taste: I just turn off User Access Control in Windows because I got sick of it asking me "The program wants to make changes to your computer, is this OK?". Ant it isn't just CoH or Mids. It's many programs the UAC kicks in on, and that's with it set to the default medium setting. Nobody but me uses my computer at home and I run as an administrator.
To the OP, you can always uninstall Mids and go here http://www.cohplanner.com/
Grab the latest version, 1.957, and reinstall. Hope that helps.
If you want to chance it, you can just turn off UAC in Windows. -
Oops. Didn't see someone already posted the info for you.

Here is a guide for Praetoria I found. Worked quite well on a recent character I spent 2 weeks on. http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Tyger%27...ing_Allegiance
Only the Warden and Responsibility arcs can be done by either alignment. The other 2 story arcs are mutually exclusive. The Power story line can only be done by Loyalists and the Crusader story line can only be done by Resistance.
An example would be starting as a loyalist character, switching to resistance, then calling Provost Marchand when a missions says you can.
It clearly states in the mission dialogue something like "for characters that start as loyalist/resistance, you can contact Provost Marchand/Calvin scott to inform him of....." It goes by your first alignment choice you made when creating your character if you skipped the tutorial or chose in the tutorial.
Edited for typo -
I had my Warshade in City Hall for the day job. So when I logged in today the first thing I saw was..........a Hellion standing next to the exit inside the building.

OK. I took 2 slots off Black Dwarf Drain removing the Touch of the Nictus pieces. Looks like without the Nictus pieces it would heal me for almost 200 points and it will take less than 5 seconds to recharge now.
I put 1 slot on Unchain Essence and replaced the Razzle Dazzle with a full set of Kinetic Crash for the 7.5% extra recharge. The other slot I went ahead and just placed it on Shadow Step and 2 slotted it with Time & Space for End Redux and +Range removing the single Blessing of the Zephyr KB protection. A set bonus from Kinetic Crash gives mag 3 KB protection and my total shows up as 11 now which I think is plenty. (I COULD add the Blessing KB protection to Shadow Step for a total of 15, but I think that may be too much. Although I could 2 slot it with Blessing for the defense bonus but that's too minimal to make a difference in my opinion and the extra regeneration from Time & Space's bonus would be more useful.)
As for the Kinetic Crash +recharge set bonus: With hasten on it recharges in 120.7 seconds now and Eclipse recharges in 87.9 seconds. Looks close enough to Perma-Eclipse which is what I was going for. Also more regeneration to boot.
So here is the tweaked build. (would have been nice to get some advice but ya'all too busy debating on other things.) But do tell me please if you think this looks good. I was never asking for someone to make me a build. Only for advice on some tweaks. Thanks in advance.

Quote:I completely forgot about that. If I have Dwarf form and Eclipse turned on in Mids, then turn the slider all the way up to 16 for Eclipse, my resistance goes through the friggen roof!Hey, it sounds like you don't quite understand the mechanics of the game and especially Eclipse. Eclipse gives you resistance per enemy, so you can actually get resistance up to 85% in human form. My MFing Warshade guide is geared towards tri-form warshades, but you can still get a lot of information out of it for your bi-form.
As for the defense softcap, that's 45%. A good goal is 32.5% because then you can use a small purple inspiration to finish you off. Again, I have a guide that explains the softcap. I recommend you do some reading.Shows over 300% for s/l and 85% is max for resistance on a Warshade. So it's 1 of those things where the more enemies around you the better off you are?
For human form with Dwarf form off and all toggles on including Shadow Cloak, but Vengeance off, my s/l defense is 35.3%. I think when fighting Shadow Cloak will be diminished as stated in the power description but I have no idea by how much.
The main thing I was going for was Perma-Eclipse. With hasten on it recharges in 123.2/s and Eclipse in 89.87/s. Almost perma but I just can't seem to find a bit more recharge. I have Razzle Dazzle set in Unchain Essence because I hit the "Rule of 5" for 6.25% recharge in set bonuses with 4 Decimations and Call to Arms in the level 32 pet.
Edit: Thank you for letting me know about resistance increasing from Eclipse with more enemies in range. -
I have a level 35 Peacebringer and in the costume creator, there is a wisp animation option for Light Form.
But this discussion is getting off topic. I was asking for help with my Warshade Human/Dwarf build. -
Quote:Well that answers THAT question. Thanks. Why Eclipse yes vs Light Form no:
Eclipse is just a click buff; click buffs carry over to forms.
Light Form is technically a form change in itself (although it can be set to wispy aura FX on the body), and thus is not compatible with Dwarf Form.
But my main question is: How can I slot my build for better survivability and maybe a bit more recharge? No purples or PvP sets/pieces. I'm not rich lol. A bit of advice would be nice. I would post in the archetype forums but only VIP can post there. -
I spend some time checking the archetype forums and can't seem to find builds to use as an example that doesn't involve purples or pvp sets/pieces. Mostly Tri-form warshade builds.
Almost perma-hasten which would give me perma-eclipse for human form.
Defenses for human form suck. Can't get smashing/lethal up to 32.5% which I think is the soft cap without having Shadow Cloak on. With it on I have them up to over 35%. With all toggles on besides Vengence, and Eclipse turned on, my s/l resistance is around 70.7%. With Black Dwarf on my resistance is 63.7%.
For some reason Mids allows Black Dwarf AND Eclipse to be on at the same time. In which case it's showing 80.3% s/l resist. Can Eclipse be used while in dwarf form on a Warshade? Mids won't allow Light Form to be toggled on at the same time as dwarf form for a PB.
This is my first Warshade and I have no clue what to do. I took Nova form and don't like it one bit. I was expecting the flight to be like hover: slower but more control. It's annoying going through a mission only to try and stop to attack a group and keep on flying by.

Quote:Oh Jesus! Saw the 2 posts before mine as recent but didn't look at the time the OP created this thread. I'm not at fault for rezing this thread, but I did contribute to the necromancy.REALLY bad necro-thread (nearly 2 years undead), please, guys, watch the posting dates when replying...

This has been going on for several months now. Occasionally a Hellion will spawn inside Atlas Park City Hall. Always the kind that has a shotgun. There was one time I entered the building a while back and as soon as I entered I was knocked down by its blast. Usually it spawns right inside the entrance next to the door but this time it was standing near Jack Wolfe right in the middle of the hallway entrance.

Here is how I take a screenshot when PRNT SCRN doesn't work in the game: I use a free program called Irfanview.
First I press ALT+Enter to put the game in windowed mode. Then bring up Irfanview and click Options>Capture/Screenshot. A window will pop up with options. Leaving it at default, CTRL+F11 to take screen shot. Click start in this window then bring CoH back up and press CTRL+F11. The game will minimize and Irfanview will come back up with a perfect screenshot of everything.
Here is an example: (forgive the crummy Microsoft Paint editing. I'm new at it.)

Quote:As VIP member you receive 1 Paragon Reward Token per month. You also receive 1 token for every 1,200 Paragon Points you buy. When buying points it is cumulative meaning not all at once. It adds up. If you buy the larger more costly bundles, the free points from those do count.i have been playing city of heroes for more than 1 year and i haven't gotten any of the rewards like the trench coat do you have to be a member or at least subscribe once?
Example: $100 = 8,000 points + 1,600 free points = 9,600 points รท 1,200 = 8 reward tokens.

Edit: Forgot to mention, Non-VIPs do earn reward tokens when buying Paragon Points. -
Further frustration: Mastermind bots. Gets so friggen annoying when enemies take off running upon aggro and my bots go chasing after them being pulled into other enemy groups and having too much aggro. And of course, the pet AI stinks as well. I can tell them to "follow me" but they insist on chasing them halfway through the map. Even sometimes when I tell them to "heel" they continue to chase.
Considering this thread was started 4 years ago and it hasn't been fixed yet, I doubt it ever will. -

Edit: I forgot I had already posted that screenshot in an earlier post.

The weird thing is, as I was doing all the story arcs in First Ward, minus the VIP only since I'm not VIP, the NPCs in question would disappear and reappear as I progressed. I would go back to the survivor compound to level up or vender off enhancements while in the area since a mission entrance would be near there.
I think something goofed up when they added the Tunnel Transport System in the zone.
I did send in a support ticket on this just now. Hopefully it will be fixed eventually.
