Viewing the vaults of all my characters

I really wish I could view the vaults of any of my toons without having to log in and out of them. It's a real pain having do log in and out just to see if they have a piece of salvage that I need. Perhaps adding a dropdown list of server-character names might be a possible way to implement this.

i want that, too.

I want that with the ability to drag items from one character's vault and drop them in another's.

In Paragon City since June 2005.

I want some form of 'shared account bank', but this will do too. It's a PITA to mail things to alts one...by...one: especially if you need to shift things to a toon of a different alignment (e.g. my 'crafting' toon is currently redside, while most of the alts that need IOs are blueside).

Server: Guardian Globial: @Asri1
Asri - lv 50 MA/Regen/Darkness Scrapper, Incarnate, Badge toon.
Tiny Spider - lv 37 SoA, Crab
Street Cleaner - lv 30 Staff/Willpower Scrapper
Golden Moonlight - lv 11 Beast/Storm Control Mastermind

You could hide all of your stuff in your mail. :P that might be a pain too . I agreed it would be nice to have an account vault for your heroes/villains. Don't know why they would share stuff but that is ok.

No you can't. An email can only contain 1 item and 999,999,999 influence. You may only create 20 emails that have attachments.

Global mail sent to oneself will be kept for a maximum of 60 days, after which it will be deleted.
Mail that has been "bounced back" from a full mailbox will be kept for a maximum of 60 days, after which it will be deleted.

i personally think the vault should be made as a global storage for your characters, i personally never use it cause i dont really care that much about salvage

Toons should be able to put permissions on their personal vaults to allow other specific toons, globals, or even entire supergroups access. We already have the permissions mechanic in place for base storage items why not for the vault. I agree with the OP that the usefulness of the vault is not what it could be.

Oh yeah that's a great idea. Then we can sit here and read hundreds of threads made by people complaining about how some stranger emptied out their personal vault because they stupidly gave access to their global, supergroup.

And of course their will be even more nerdrage when they find out that the GM's won't help them get their stuff back because just like base storage, when you give them access they aren't breaking any game rules by taking what they want from it.

I would love that. I've seen similar stuff in other games that works well. Add-ons in WoW and Xunlai Storage in Guild Wars (not quite the same, but similar net effect). I am poor and hopping between characters looking for a piece of salvage takes a lot longer than I like.

Xunlai Storage in Guild Wars is account based. There is no individual storage/vault for each character. They all have access to the same single storage. I would like this implemented in CoH. I agree it is a real pain having to look for some salvage. It takes 30 seconds to log out to the character select screen, it can take another 30 seconds for some reason for it to actually load the character list, and occasionally I will end up with a connection error and be thrown back to the log in screen (Usually happens when switching between a few characters to check day job badges, but sometimes it happens the very first time I go back to the character select screen.)

But in order for them to change the vault system into a server wide vault that all characters on a server has access to, they would need to increase the capacity so it could hold a lot more salvage, perhaps based on the number of character slots you have on the server.

I would also like to have at least a 2 bill inf storage added to the vault (Guild Wars storage can also store gold), so if I need inf on a character I don't have to switch to another and mail it.

This would be a quality of life upgrade, but I doubt it will happen, at least any time soon, because they would have to completely overhaul the vault system to make such a change I imagine.

If the devs did give us a global vault I could see them allowing more storage potential than the current vault contains is by selling extra slots in the store.

There would probably be some other restrictions based on account type as well.

One way would be to give everyone the same basic vault with absolute minimum storage, and sell storage expansions.

They may choose to exclude Free accounts from having Global Vault access until they upgrade to Premium accounts.

Another possibility from looking at how they restrict Premium accounts access to making solo SG's for storage, they may restrict Global Vault access to VIP accounts.

It's also possible they could add unlocks to the Paragon Rewards table which would allow Prems to access the Global Vault, and get more storage as they aquire more rewards, much like how the Inf cap increases as one rises up the tier ladder and eventually allowing Prems who have unlocked the upper tiers to use the Global Vault without having to subscribe.
