  1. First - really sorry about making a brand new post out of this; I'd use the old one, but I notice that threads with more than a page sometimes don't get any attention (or much) when bumped >.< and I still need some help <;.;> so err... pardon my forum clogginess; not trying to annoy anyone.

    Redrawn

    Alright so... as you can see I totally redid it, and I tried to take into account everything mentioned in the previous thread.

    I'm happier with the hammer, the legs *should* be about right, arms too... I appear to have made her a little thinner though... not sure I like that <;.;> what's odd is... she fills the same dimensions on the paper (I can put this version over the old version and the lines are close) so I don't know what I'm missing...

    A major annoyance is that I somehow lost the more dynamic pose in the process... I dunno >.< I leave it to you, my art forum compatriots... is this better overall, despite the lost dynamicism? I did my best, and I don't think I could re-draw it... I even re-did the eyes twice in photoshop because I hated what I'd done on paper...

    One thing I am happier with is the clothing folds.

    I dunno >< need tons of feedback here <~.~> Its annoying, I looked back at my old artwork during the Vintage thread... and I feel like I've gone down in skill, not up <>.<> outside of portraits <;.;> blagh. I dunno, its a depressing day for me for some reason. Ok I'm rambling >.< I shuttup now <~.~>
  2. Congratulations! I hope you get exactly what you want! <^o^>
  3. None of my pieces are digitally manipulated >.> scanned sure, but those old ones are alllllll me. Pencilified <,< /cry <;.;> and I *still* suck.

    This is just a little piece I did one weekend while painting my kid's room...

    *EDIT* - Kidding aside, I don't have anything vintage that I'm brave enough to share.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... <,<

    If it weren't such a famous piece... the sad things I'd believe it lol >,>

    *Edit* - Oh c'mon! >.> I showed my lame stuff... I show my lame stuff every time I post <-.->; You've got nothing to be embarassed about! <,<
  7. Haha, that's pretty clever <,<

    Vintage work eh? <'x'> Oh dear... I have *loads* of this stuff... I'm actually pretty damn proud of some of it too... I may scan some extra later but here's my favorite 'old' works of mine...

    Ayanei - Death From Above - This one is obviously old - its on notebook paper! I haven't drawn on that since maybe my second year of college >.>; this one is early college I *think*. She's supposed to be dropping on two enemies.

    Yuriko - Smoke on Asphault - This is the *original* version of my Yuriko character (the version I'm returning her look to, since her revamp made her look exactly like Rei Ayanami <x.x&gt - obviously I like thin c haracters <'x'> and her head's way out of proportion. But I was super-happy with the smoke! The character used to have a pair of knives in forearm holsters, that would shoot over her shoulders so she could grab them <,< Terribly impractical, but really cool looking! <,<

    Peace On Earth - The T-Shirt This was designed for a "self portrait" I did... the self portrait was supposed to portray yourself as you see yourself - not as you are... so this is the back of the shirt that the portrait had - the idea is its a blending of the three major monotheistic religions - the Cross, the Star of David, and the Crescent - to create this symbol that is meant as a sort of unifier for a story I was writing at the time. I included some other elements - the crown of thorns, blood tears, etc... lots of reasons <,< some of which were "Well it looked cool!"

    You can prolly see the Evangelion influence in the imagery <'x'> even if its not that well drawn.

    Duros - Adamantine Angel This is Duros - main villain for the story that featured Ayanei >.> I was really happy with this wing setup... its more imposing than the original 'steel' wings I was using for him... makes him more 'hover' than 'fly'. Was also very happy with the fur on the cloak.

    My first comic page! <,< - Try not to laugh... this was my first comic page... the idea is Ayanei rushing through a battlefield full of technozombies. (Zombies were the main fodder unit used by Duros >.&gt I was really happy with it at the time.

    Yumii - First Blood - This is an incomplete piece... but I was happy with it at the time. Its actually bigger than my scanner would allow (thus the huge dark spot... there's alot missing!) I was happy with the face though - all that liquid in the air is blood, most of it just not darkened.

    Ayanei - Purity - *now* you can laugh. This was an attempt at a fine-artsy nude piece. It should be SFW; but I warn you it may not be. The proportions are bad... was happy with the composition though. Even if it is pretty damn cliche.

    End of the Begining - Sick of Ayanei yet? >.>;; I drew her alot... she was supposed to be a manga char (and may yet be... I still like the story I wrote with her); this is after her first fight with zombies. She's just an ordinary 16 year old living in a wasteland (the world's been nuked and this is hundreds of years later) - but she's got all these cybernetics (through an accident... I'll explain later if anyone cares <,&lt and the cybernetics just 'take over'. So she killed the zombie versions of her entire village. Kind of a double whammie - one that they were dead in the first place, the other that she had to finish them off herself - and that she wasn't in control of herself at the time either. Yeah, its cliche out the wazoo too.

    Angel Tatoo - This was just a piece I did because I was obsessed with angels... still am to a degree. I wanted to do a very intricate tatoo design; and I succeeded sorta >.> The proportions are bad... she has no bum! At all... like its just completely flat. This was a time where all my characters had crazy facial tatoos and such. Twas a phase!

    Duel
    One of my favorite old pics... its a duel between Ayenei and Duros. Obviously, Duros is missing his hood, revealing a little more than was obvious. You can't see the face but I'll hint - Duros isn't exactly a he. (Subtle, I know!)

    Just 1 more I promise >.>

    Self Portrait - This is that self portrait I mentioned earlier, the one with the insane shirt. That's how I thought of me at the time <,< I *told* you all I had a huge ego! See? <T_T>; My art teacher even mentioned it. >.>; /shrug

    If you wanna see more (are you crazy?!) Check out my Photobucket - Warning! Its a total friggin mess in there lol <,< Also, the CuppaJo pics are all drawn by Crimson_Jimson (You already knew that, but I wanted to mention it anyway) - I just colored em! Oh, and the real pic is me >.> you prolly already knew that too though!

    Ok ok I'll shuddup now <'x'>

    A ninja drawing

    I think overall its pretty cool hehe <^-^> its not "finished finished" but its nice pencils for sure!
  9. <'x'> I thought that was part of the positive aspect hehe <,< I felt the circuitry was a major focus (along with the head) and the black was to provide a backdrop <'x'>;;

    But again merely my opinion <,<;
  10. See I personally really like the brightness on the circuitry <,< But thats just me!

    I think its much improved... but I agree.. *something* is still "off"

    I'm not sure what though >.<;

    Btw, the Eye of Horus was a good touch... I'd actually been thinking the "Arcane" chest symbol, the one with the pentagram and lines (which I figured would 'mesh' with the circuitry); I think the Eye works nicely too though

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The Shoulders, perhaps? I've been thinking about it, and it just seems that they don't fit... Or perhaps they do, but the colors are all wrong.

    As for the chest symbol, I had the same idea in mind, until I saw the Eye of Horus. Seemed to fit better.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hrmm... you know what would fit this guy perfectly? We don't have it yet... (maybe I8)... but an "over-the-shoulder cloak" type cape.

    >.> I think that, with a tan-ish color for the cape with sort of a desert tatter to it could really work... then again that's merely my thinking.

    I'm tempted to suggest going with a tan base, instead of a black base... >.< But then again that's part of the "Blood of the black stream" thing... so I dunno. Just thinkin aloud!
  12. I've used 4 lives waiting >.> So yes <,<

    Yep I see why I did not win. Those are amazing costumes! Grats again to the well deserved winners! I bet it was really hard to choose. Ms. Japan looks amazing!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I thought the costume was really neat except one element... <-.-> Boob slider turned ALLLLL the way up. It shouldn't turn me off - but it does. Especially when its an otherwise *really* cool costume - but 'missile boobies' just annoy me <x.x> Granted - my opinion isn't all that valid.

    Fear Fly I thought was REALLY cool though.
  14. Funny thing about that graver <'x'> My sketches start nude too <;.;> I just royally suck at doing the human body <~.~>; (Ever notice I *never* draw guys? >.> There's a reason for that... and it has nothing to do with discomfort!)

    This just reinforces... I need to practice more hehe >_<; Thankies for the advice <~_~> I definitely will be working on this lots more (btw, the arm things are feathers >.> its not easy to tell though <;.;> I need a bigger working surface - but I can't scan anything bigger than regular printer paper <x.x&gt

    Anyways >.< Muchos gracias everyone. Hopefully the next one after this will be much improved. This one won't be 'perfect' but I'm going to touch it up as best I can so the next can be much much improved. <>_<> Must work harder <gets a pair of acorns and a huge cuppajoe >.>

    This will take awhile <-.->// <scribble>
  15. [ QUOTE ]
    Here she is... and here's what I did:

    1) shortened the arms, because the biceps were as long as the forearms.
    2) lengthened from the knees on down to give the impression of more height, and also because the calves were too stunted, you cut out the ankles almost.
    3) went back to the arms from the shoulders and widened them to make them appear bulkier.

    You still have to finish the one foot, but I think it's more in proportion, as by my comparisson of the original and the change.

    LJ

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oooo... <o.o> Hopefully I can do as much in photoshop before I finish it >,< thanks for the help! It... helps! <^0^>
  16. Here's a modest improvement...

    Like this? >.>

    I made the arms a bit larger... I didn't want to add alot... mostly because I can't due it already being inked (stupid me not posting the pencils for mistakes first <x.x> last time I do that!) I basically drew right over the old, then editted the old out in photoshop >.> (hooray for the magic computer!)
  17. mistformsquirrel

    Rowr

    I really like that one LJ >.<; Her face is 'different' but its not a *bad* different!
  18. I think its much improved... but I agree.. *something* is still "off"

    I'm not sure what though >.<;

    Btw, the Eye of Horus was a good touch... I'd actually been thinking the "Arcane" chest symbol, the one with the pentagram and lines (which I figured would 'mesh' with the circuitry); I think the Eye works nicely too though
  19. I'll see if i can do it in photoshop <~.~>; if not I'll have to start over again <X,x> but at least I know I can do it if needed. Thanks, both of you >.< So frustrating; recently I've been 'on top of the world' feeling like my art was really getting good... and then this <x.x> twice... not to mention I totally mucked up an ink of Yumii I'd done recently /sigh
  20. egad <_ _> lol, what a stupid mistake... now to figure out how the hell to fix it... Don't suppose you have any suggestions? <~.~>;

    I'm hoping I don't have to draw it a 3rd time (I will If I gotta <>.<> but if I can avoid it >,&lt
  21. Ok... so I've done *2* versions of this pic so far... 2... anyone who's seen some of my other work knows I don't completely suck... right? <;.;> So why is this looking like a bad 10 year old drawing?! I'm going friggin nuts here.

    Here's the pic

    I'm going friggin batty...

    The left arm (her right) is 'broken' looking (I'm going to photoshop fix it) - and I generally like the legs... the torso could use a little work...

    But the biggest problem are the arms and head... they're terrible <;.;> What do I do? I know I can fix some of this with color but... ugh. This was supposed to be a fun surprise for my best friend <~.~> and its looking like it was just thrown together <;.;> /sad SAVE ME JEBUS! >.<;
  22. Bwahaha <,< Nailgun ftw! >.>;

    Icecubes... not a bad idea lol <'x'>

    I keep asking my 16 year old why stealing clothes from a homeless person who's about 10 sizes bigger is cool. He can't answer me but geeze I am tired of seeing his 'crack of dawn'!
