  1. Also I'd suggest trying your luck with some of those positrons at the AE, plus it can help build up your funds by crafting and putting IO sets on the market. Resistant set IO's pack a big punch in the funds.

As for level 50 generic IOs don't pack as much of a punch in return investment until you have the funds to kiss away.
  2. Yeah I haven't seen too many elec/ela brutes besides my brothers and definity haven't seen a stone/sr brute on champion server. Uniques indeed!

Anything /energy armor is unique. I don't think I've seen many claws/stone brutes either. Yeah my energy/electric brute still gets love and yeah it was definitely a fotm when electric came out.
  5. You know majority of the "vets or common readers" don't suggest ideas, frankly because it gets a major blacklash from the all knowing. Would this kill the game, why not its in the minds of the all knowing and are afraid of change. Is it a waste of money. Sure just like facebook and CEO that makes more than Oprah. Does this game have years upon years left to run. Sure, everyone enjoys the same mindless grinding and now we have beautiful raids that isn't turning anyone away from the game. Oh and guides made by the devs, its for new games not just COH. Why should they care, its for future reference don't get bent out of shape about it. I haven't seen anyone on the DCUO and CO forums flocking to the helpful posts that were made by consumers because the devs were either too busy or saw no money to be made by them. Back before IO sets this game was pretty easy to figure out the mini and maxes but after thats when it turned into a beginning nightmare. I left the game because at time there wasn't good explanations on the IO sets and the confusion wasn't worth my sub. I came back to try it again since GR was so cheap during black friday it was worth it to check it out.

A quote made by a consumer that explains alot on free-form:
    Quote:
However, with all this customization, and the ability to pick and choose as you wish, the complexity that this allows also creates a steep learning curve. So many options available means there are many combinations that can leave your character underperforming, weak, subpar, or at worst, almost unplayable. These kinds of combinations are where many new players can get caught up, not understanding exactly how the game's synergies work, and what is effective vs what is not.
It isn't always overpowered but hey I think we get the point on whether those that chime in will see it as.

Why do I bother, its just a suggestion and was just a question. Normally I know anything that doesn't agree with the certain masses will get butchered and throw out in the alley. That's fine, no biggie here it is after all just a game!
  6. Man I didn't think I had to go into more detail but for some it may help. The free-form wouldn't be available to every tom, dick or harry that just joined the game. I'd say 3 yrs investment or 36 month badge gives someone access. As for the balancing deal = easy fix. Limit this new addition to only certain trials or a quarterly pvp olympics (say three days since it might cut into actual non-free form pvp time) in Recluse's Victory. How much of a time investment it would be is hard to gauge. Would folks be interested in it? Heck yeah they would. And frankly how many issues have we paid for other than subs here at COH and yet the game still lives on.

    As for this:

Are you serious?? Do you truly think in this day and age that people are still that ignorant not to take a gander of a guide created by devs at the launch of a game? A simple message in the launch screen will be noticed by over 70% of consumers. But companies are on a crunch to deliver a product in a certain time period and with the ease of information today it falls on the consumer to create the guides. Thanks to those willing to provide it free of charge!
  7. Frankly if you want harder content go to the AE and fight AVs. Its already available and only takes your own effort to create difficult enemies.
  8. Awesome mine finally copied over!!! WOOT!!
  9. Alot of cons verses the pros which is understandable. Don't you think alot has changed since pre-Alpha. It would be nice to consider free-form, maybe test it for giggles. You can have restrictions to free-form. Limit the choices to classes, aka tank powersets stay with tank powersets. Make an individual pick two powers out of a set before dancing to another one. Or you can frankenslot. These archtypes can only be used for certain trials or pvp zones. Granted its a risk and there's a 50/50 chance they'd even make a dime out of it.

As for CO, it was doomed right after M$ pulled the plug on it going console. Plus the game was a confusing mess for beginners due to the complexity involved in the vast array of choices you could make. Recently a few consumers have put together decent guides that the general casual gamer can read and figure out what the devs of that game could've done from the start. Same thing for DCUO, both wannabe hero games.
  10. The idea taken after an post stating following GR that COH has maybe 2.5 yrs left got me thinking of what if they introduced freeform powersets; picking what powers you want in a archtype instead a set as it currently is. Could this destroy a game or enhance it?

I don't know how long an mmo has for lifeblood but with guildwars not being out as long as coh, it at least is coming out with a "2" hopefully at the end of the year.
  11. I went ahead and PM'd Avatea again. They stated they were resetting it back on the 14th and I haven't had a single toon I copied end up there. Its sad that we can't test our builds; but yet a FTP game you don't have these issues with their test server.
  12. They know its down but I'm unsure if its working since I didn't get a chance to check it. Can anyone verify if its fixed? I've been copying to the public test server which I assume is the correct one although the going rouge one also shows up on the copy tool website.

Nope, probably should do their job for them. Back in 07' I never experienced issues with but since coming back 6 months ago I've maybe been able to copy 4 rooms across 4 accounts.
  14. Nothing frustrates me more than saving up the moola to buy and craft special IO sets (purple sets I wish) and feeling like that didn't deliver what I was truly looking for.

So wouldn't it be nice if the test server had a vender who sold crafted IO sets for a hefty price? Say 400 million for a full mako set or reactive armor. Purple sets make it double. Granted a working copying tool would need to be in place.
  15. Is it still not working?? I copied about 4 toons 2 hrs ago and not one has made it to the test server. Can we get a dev or mod to sticky a thread telling folks how long we should expect it to take since the copy tool site states 30 mins.
  16. Well hopefully this new content will please the masses of folks who've continued from the start of coh. I'm content with running another lowbie up in rank until my six month sub runs out. And to even think about renewing my other two accounts and for what?

End game trials/raids will always have a love/hate relationship with the community. There's always a 50/50 chance they'll renew or cancel.
  17. I guess I' d have to look at mids in more detail but man your slotting for end needs work. Just to give you a heads up but with my invul/ss I have stamina 4 slotted with performance and a slot of chance for end, plus physical perfection 4 slotted with eficiency, conserve power 2 recharges, and numina regen/recovery and I still carry blues. I haven't slotted miracle + recovery to see if that would help.
  18. masterpiece

    More crash now?

I was on champion last night and got 3 map serves and one disconnect. That would be painful to have it happen during the trials.
  19. level 26 to 40 salvage is easy to come by = AE tickets. A level 50 resist is about 600k to buy and craft where as a measly level 35 is only less than 80k.

Perhaps my original objective was lost in translation. does the resist cap at 50% Will I start seeing diminishing returns after hitting 40% and does that mean a 3rd level 50 resist IO is a waste when a level 20 will do and vice verse depending on the 1st and 2nd slot...?
  20. Ok so I've always understood that slotting with 3 of the same SO's diminished the returns due to ED. I've just went with 3 slotting of regular IOs no matter the level. I'm wanting to check to see if I'm getting it straight, hence just with regular resist IOs. Since they are schedule B they start losing their luster after reaching +40% bonus...?

So going with that assumed understanding would it be wise to say that you should slot 2 level 25 resist IO's with one level 20 resist IO to achieve a 52.26% (if calculating the reduction after 40%)? I always went the overboard with 3 level 50 resist IO's which would put me at 58.48% (per mids).

I'm just trying to look at those of us who maybe wasting influence crafting level 50's when a couple lower levels are all we need to satisfy before IO sets wander in.

Tubby hit the nail on the head!

Really slainsteel you think that list is golden? In todays Coh its all about content and placing invul down that far on the list would even make superman throw-up in the toliet.
  22. Hehe TheXor and not using quotes.

Efficiently running the AE mission, especially considering the times given can differ just a couple seconds to a whole minute just by controlling you inspirations use. With all due respect though, running the frontload mission under 4 minutes is pretty impressive at +4/x8 with or without bosses.
  23. Expertise is on /electric here but electric has the beloved energy and psi survival. If you are looking for builds I suggest piece meal it through 2 guides if in doubt.
  24. So is it possible to keep your attack chain endless if you had the rechrg, end, and health to sustain an endless amount of critters? Would that then make the redraw a non-issue?
