/elec dom with thunderstrike, flurry, and kick and I'm not kidding in the least.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yaaaay pool powers, I13 PvP is win.
  2. You could pick up the +perception base buff, it adds another 100 feet to your perception radius but that'll still put you short of the cap. Basically if a Stalker really doesn't want to be seen, you won't see it until it's right next to you. These days Stalkers are probably the least of your worries in a zone unless you're not watching your HP bar.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
obvious answer would be an EM stalker or a spines but night widows are very close behind atm.

fyi brutes still have a 700% dmg cap...

    [/ QUOTE ]
EM Stalkers are kinda lolz now between the AS nerf, removal of unresisted damage, and ET animation change. Night Widows are probably the most "burst"-oriented villain melee PvP spec right now.

And yes, Brutes have an 850% damage cap - but I'm pretty sure I can safely say you'll never hit that cap in PvP. Hell, most builds of any AT can't hit their caps and those are less than half the Brute cap.
  4. Neither did I, maybe they'll add me too.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Everyone always likes to debate, but no one ever really provides evidence.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This works both ways, you know. Also necroposting is bad, mmk?

This reminds me of EvilRyu, who routinely calls into question the ability of players who actually know what they are doing.
  6. Well, they did nerf accuracy during the I13 open beta - anyone else remember that?
  7. I wasn't sure either, it was something I'd heard. I sent Castle a PM about it but never heard back.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Or you can drop concealment and get fighting or medicine. Theres a craftable phase shift power that you can buy from WW over and over again, and I doubt you need the stealth or invisibility from that pool anyways.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Temp powers don't work in arena. If you're only going to be in zones, the Warburg temp phase (30 minutes of use, can get up to 3 times) and the other craftable/temp phases should get you by.

I dont know much about SR because I've never played one, but:

    [ QUOTE ]
I have room for fighting or medicine. Which do I take?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Medicine.

    [ QUOTE ]
Should I take the AoE def toggle, AoE def auto, neither, or both?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Both if you can - the auto has scaling resists and they both grant valuable defense debuff protection.
  9. Fitness. I've found I'm not really missing the extra end recovery that Stamina gives, between the Numina and Miracle uniques and a few recovery set bonuses, and regen rates get neutered by DR anyways so Tough is a bigger net benefit than Health would be. It's mostly a mess-around-in-zones build so if I were to get into serious arena with it I'd probably pick up Tactics
  10. [ QUOTE ]
That just sounds dumb. I would have to run back to base all the time for elude drops because im using it all the time for recovery instead of when I need it to survive.

No offense, but I have the room in the build for fitness anyways.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The old school SRs have been doing that for a long time. Why would you need to run back to your base every time Elude crashes when you have blues for that very reason? If you can fit in Fitness then sure, go for it, but many SR builds are really tight and can't.

    [ QUOTE ]
if you don't take phase or leadership on a regen you're a joke

    [/ QUOTE ]
No Leadership on mine. I do have Phase though. Only reason I even bothered taking Tough is because it gives resists to everything in PvP and because Kick is sadly one of the better attacks now.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Any info on how order of invites to the team factors into priority of who gets what? I know its suppose to be random but from what ive seen (and I have no numbers to back that up.. thats why im asking) and what I have heard that it isnt totally random.... have I heard wrong?

Sorry.. sorta a thread-jack, Excellent info.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It's random. Apparently there were some issues with drop codes before I12 which caused sidekicks/lackeys to get more drops than their mentors but no redname ever confirmed that.
  12. Drop the Fitness pool, take Body Mastery. Alternate between Elude and Conserve Power.
  13. Oh right, whoops. But you could RP the crits.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Movement needs to be readdressed. The ability to use full movement, even with supression, allows escape from combat to be too easy.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I am not sure why so many people complain about people being able to escape from combat. What is your natural instinct when you realize you are facing defeat? You certainly don't stand around waiting to die - you get out of there, so you can survive for another fight. In "old PvP," that's what travel powers were for - if you were in over your head, you could jump, run, fly, or teleport out of harm's way. In "new PvP," the travel suppression rules have reduced the viability of that, and methods of escape have been limited to things like Phase Shift and PFF.

I understand the "if you start a fight, finish it" mentality, but it doesn't really apply here. If I discover I'm over my head - perhaps I'm outskilled, perhaps the other player has an extremely effective counter to my build, or perhaps I'm outnumbered - I need an option to get out of that situation. I also understand the "stand still and fight!" (AKA "fiteklub") mentality. People are used to PvE, where hordes of dumb AI enemies stand around waiting to be killed. When you face an opponent who isn't a dumb AI enemy, you're shocked to discover that there are things in this game that have the potential to create a challenge, and beat you up badly.

You wouldn't believe how people react when I go into RV on my Spines/Regen and fight people. They will find any excuse for my beating them - anything from "you used inspirations!" to "I can't hit you if you're hopping around" or "WTF are you using your ranged attacks for, you're a Scrapper!" I know that standing toe-to-toe with many builds will cause me to die very quickly - so I use the powers and game mechanics available to me, in the best way I can, to ensure I last as long as I can. It's surprising how many people complain because am using legitimate PvP tactics to get a PvP kill.

    tl;dr version:

Don't get rid of the (already reduced) combat speed. It's part of what makes the game fun. If I wanted slow PvP, I'd play WoW, or I'd exemp down to level 4 or something for a match. The fact that we do have decent movement ability in PvP is the difference between life and death for some builds, and it keeps an element of strategy in. Without travel powers, PvP would simply be "target enemy, press follow, click buttons until someone dies." That's not fun, that's stupid.
  15. Night Widow? Spines/SR Stalker? SS/Fire or SS/SR Broot?
  16. [ QUOTE ]
    Quills is the anti-stalker power

    [/ QUOTE ]
Seriously, AS isn't anything to worry about on another melee toon. My Regen has around 1730 HP base, and a Stalker's Build Up + AS + Energy Transfer + Total Focus had me simply reaching to click Reconstruction.
  17. Drop Quills, drop Ripper. Get Phase.
  18. Especially with it being autohit right now and all... it's basically like being able to turn a Blaster into a meleer anytime you want to.
  19. Here's the build I'm using on live. It's a bit unorthodox but it's worked very well for me in both zone and arena PvP.

He is right, but wrong. Defense in large amounts isn't OP. Elusivity though is.

    [/ QUOTE ]
High amounts of defense is still powerful because tohit caps at 30%. Admittedly it's with the addition of elusivity that it becomes a problem, but if you can get a lot of defense build up, it becomes meaningful.
  21. Just wanted to point something out from the OP:

    [ QUOTE ]
obscene ammounts of defense (Sr)... are no longer so immensely overpowered

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Anybody else find this hilarious?
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    Question?
IN the MA ,If you want your AV to be a VEAT
Do you need to have them Unlocked? ( meaning a lvl 50 on red side) Or will all Arc types be open to the MA?

    SM~

    [/ QUOTE ]
I believe Castle said it is unlikely that Kheld or SoA powersets will be available for players to use. However, there are groups in the game (such as PPD or Arachnos) that use some of the powers available to Khelds and SoAs, so you should be able to use those.
  23. Indeed. Elusivity's still brokenly powerful in many cases.
