  1. It's got the same tohit debuff as DN - in my opinion, it's silly not slot it for such.

    Level 12: Fearsome Stare -- ToHitDeb-I(A), ToHitDeb-I(13), Abys-Acc/Fear/Rchg(13), N'mare-Acc/Fear/Rchg(15), Fear-I(15)

Or you can go 4 dark watchers and an endoplasm hami if you desperately want the set bonuses.
  2. Is that confirmation that a check for scourge is made on every tick akin to Rain of Fire?
  3. I really like the potential in this combo (notably EMP + Aim + Soul Drain + Ice Storm + Blizzard + Dark Consumption), but I'm having trouble deciding on def or corr...

Do Ice Storm and Blizzard Scourge on every tick?
  4. Recently began leveling a mind/fire but I keep thinking back to mind/earth and fissure. I was just wondering if people had experience with either/both of these combos? Would the damage from /earth/ice be considerably less than /fire/fire ?

My main impetus for this second-guessing is the fact that I like to be in melee range and /fire is somewhat lacking on mitigation for such tactics.

    Anyone?

    What?! Leave me alone!

Only defense /shields is inferior on is psi; otherwise, defensively-speaking, it's superior. Nevertheless, call it wannabe-rebelism, but shields are getting pretty trite as an answer to everything. Electric and Dark are also great sets
  6. Cool, thank you. Haven't played redside, or a dom for that matter, in ages
  7. What I mean to say is, do quickly interrupted snipes still build dom or was that nerfed in some fashion?

Bump, would also like to know this... 1 check for scourge or multiple checks similar to Rain of Fire?
  9. Reactivated my account and trying to think of something "different" to play. For people who've played this combo, how well does it mesh? I like a fast pace in combat - does it lend itself to that?
  10. does your monitor have a video overdrive feature? is it on?
  11. Congratulations! Hopefully, it stays problem-free. Be sure that the BIOS also has the DRAM set for 1.9V.

    I hate the AH UI

My only major complaint about the UI is that you have to scroll down the 'Bidding' tab every single time you wish to cancel the most recent bid. Makes for very tedious bid-creeping.

Still, with auto-complete, the tabs, and large bidding fee confirmation, it's miles better than what it used to be.

    DP/Dark critique

How's this build look to people? I'm trying to balance the long activation times of DP, so I opted to get Pistols over Dual Wield and passed on Piercing Rounds. Elsewhere, I was shooting for a combination of +Def and +recharge. Opinions?

  14. I use MSI Afterburner to change the Fan Speed : Gpu Temperature curve. http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

It may or may not support your girlfriend's card, but if it does it will be a simple matter to tone down those temperatures.

Oh, and my card, an ATI 5870, it runs at 82% usage... ON THE CHARACTER SCREEN... Yeah, way to go programmers! In game? 95%+ And it doesn't decrease if I alt+tab, it actually increases to 99%.

I'm tired of people defending this new graphics engine...

If you are having issues with your computer while playing the game, CHECK YOUR TEMPERATURES! Don't assume they're ok.
  15. I like me my -kb

But, even more than that, I like me my herdicaning. Hurricane + Conductive Aura is a no go

It's an interesting combination conceptually, but logistically it's a mess. My opinion.
  16. Has your computer always exhibited this problem or only recently? Possibly after installing some software?

Do you freeze up or is it a blue screen-> reboot?

If you open up your case, are you greeted by a veritable playground of dust?

If you open up Device Manager, are there any exclamation marks signifying problems?

...throwing things out here because, as it stands, it could be anything - too little information to go off of.
  17. Not to be confrontational, but how can anyone like those clockwork sound effects; most notably, the sound for that one attack on lieutenants where his backpack lightning rod thing discharges. It's just a loud distorted mess.

Not referencing electric control but rather new clockwork sounds.
  19. There's no other way to say this, so I'll apologize for any feelings hurt beforehand for anyone who is in charge of sound production... if there is anyone in charge.

It used to bug me that the background music in this game was hit or miss. You might hear it one moment and it'd be gone the next. Moving from one area to the next, the music would resurface and I'd sigh, wishing it were more constant. Wishing there was more effort put into it.

You get over this though, you unfortunately come to expect it. But who or what was behind the new kinetic melee and clockwork electrical sounds. The latter sounds like some sort of electrical fart, and the other sounds like some homage to the Grand Prix.

Sound plays a vital role in a person's experience. Have you ever tried watching a movie with only verbal dialogue? It's dull. So why does it feel like CoX has an intern working in the basement on sound? On a weekend. Between beer runs.
  20. Bad timings can indeed lead to system instability, even if it manages to boot up. Do you happen to know what RAM you purchased?

If you do, you're looking for 4 numbers, ie., 7-7-7-20... These numbers are CAS Latency—RAS to CAS Delay—RAS Precharge—TRAS. They're always in that order, so you don't really have to remember what they stand for. Just locate the DRAM TIMINGS setting in your BIOS. You should consult your motherboard manual if you're unsure.

Another possibility is RAM voltage. If your RAM has too much or too little voltage, it can also lead to instability. There is a setting in the BIOS for this as well.

Disclaimer: If you are unable to find the proper values, leave the BIOS settings alone. I would wholheartedly recommend you do find what your RAM is rated for however.

    Good luck with XFX!

    /Rad Debuffs?

All debuffs stack. It's why all defender/corruptor/controller teams beat everything with ease.

All scrapper teams? All blaster? I tend to roll my eyes
  23. Out on a limb here, since I've been having issue with mine, but did you say your chipset drivers were up to date?
  24. Check your memory timings in BIOS. Don't trust 'Auto'

If still nothing: you've checked your RAM, your sound, your psu. It's your motherboard. This is my opinion.
  25. Ah, you have a 480. Have you run any benchmarks on your card after the problems started cropping up? Perhaps your card's turned into a lemon?

Also, are you getting this type of GPU usage in Praetoria or elsewhere as well? In my opinion "ultra mode" is coded pretty poorly, especially involving Praetoria environments. Things lag there, plain and simple. My 5870 can't handle full 60fps there - and that's with, I think, 8x antialiasing. With your settings, I doubt even SLI 480's could get constant 60fps in that locale.

What's with the strange 1920x1148 resolution btw? Are you running in a window?
