DP... Ammo Type & Achilles' Question

If I change the ammo type to, say, fire, am I correct in assuming that since the attack loses its -def component that any achilles' will no longer proc?

I assume this is the case because these same procs will only function on an MM's mercs when they use the corresponding -res attack(s).

Actually someone in my global was saying the proc will still work. Might be worth testing out before committing to it, though.

As I understand it, any proc in DP will continue to work regardless of what ammo type it's set to. From what I've read, the attacks are in actuality always doing all of the secondary effects; it's just that unless you are switched to that particular ammo the value of that effect is set to zero. So when you shoot Fire bullets you are still firing a defense debuff power, just one that does 0% debuff.

Does it lose it's -def componant? It loses it's knockdown, but I thought the -def component was always part of executioner's shot reguardless of amo choice?

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

I haven't tested the proc in question, but I have the +rech KB proc slotted in an AOE and have specifically found it to fire when on non-KB ammo types.

Pistols loses its -Def.

The procs fire regardless of whether the component they are based on are present.

Example: Lockdown slotted in Suppressive fire. The proc fires even if using standard ammo(a stun effect instead of a hold).

The Achilles Proc will fire even if the -Def component isn't present.
