That and I often find myself mentally blocking out stickies when I view the forums. There're probably others who do also.
  2. Good raid. We were a bit short on people, but we got the job done in a timely manner. Well done.
  3. Thanks for an interesting event. I must say that 30 some L54 CoTs vs. about 10-12 villains is a bit of an overkill.
  4. Just a reminder that this is going on tomorrow. If more folks can bring a bio warhead nuke, that would help greatly. But like usual, we just need more peeps. We seemed to have the routine down pretty well, so hopefully it'll be a smooth raid tomorrow.

B: "ABSOLUTELY, I AM SURE AND HAVE COMPLETE CONFIDENCE THAT IT WILL. NOW KEEP TYPING."

    A: "....."

    Confirmed.

Edit: Seeing how the OP's last post was in November, I'm attempting to contact him by email.

Update: My theory is that it stopped working because the parser is not getting past a certain accented letter, which suggests it will start working again once the offending post is "scrolled out."
  7. Assuming that the Complete Collection Pack is going to be $10 (could be wrong on that), you're paying $40 either way, but you have to choose between being able to play Pistols and Demons early or the free month. Brilliant.

That's awesome. I'm getting in the same way I did last year.

Imageshack and photobucket both allow you to do this.

go ahead and try it if you dont beleive it.

its a pretty handy trick, though, specially for winning various contests or other forum related things since they wont have any record of it happening other than word of mouth, but than again, who trusts witnesses now a days anyways?

    =P
    That's not quite true...

You just have to know where to look. Demobot still got Arkyaeon beat, but it was a lot closer than the edits suggested (Assuming Ark's web server's clock is on NTP. Pretty sure imageshack is in Demo's case).

    Comic-Con 2010

So who's going to Comic-Con this year? I see that it's mostly sold out already. >_>
  11. Sure, I can give you a hand.
  12. Well, I knew someone who said he worked at a gaming store who claimed to extend his account by using CoH codes. This was a few years ago too. So conclusion:
    1. He was just BSing.
    2. This was a relatively recent change.

I've also tried applying one of the extra GvE codes I have laying around. The results confirmed what Kyo and Stargeek said. I've also discovered that basic CoH retail codes (not CE, GvE, Mac, or Architect) cannot be applied to any running account and are for new accounts only (tried applying one to an account opened with GvE). What's annoying is, costume codes do not exhibit this behavior. I applied a costume code that the account already had back when they were giving them away on Twitter and the code took.
  13. Tell you what. Petition and ask a CSR.
  14. Yes, you get the 30 days and there's no limit to how many you can apply. This is only for the retail disks though. Codes bought from sites such as D2D are only for new accounts. In which case, it should say specifically on the game info page. Mind if I ask where you're getting them for 5 bucks a pop?
  15. March 2nd perhaps? One can hope.
  16. First off, even though there're still problems, this week's puzzle was a vast improvement over the previous 2 weeks... IMHO.

Not gonna sit there and do calculations, but I expect the chance of getting a false positive drops off exponentially as the number of letters in the word increases. You would expect that it is very improbable for an unintended word appearing in a word search to fit the weekly theme as well, but alas we've seen some 2 out of the last 3 weeks. So setting a minimum number of letters for words on the word list (5 or higher) could be a good solution to the problems that has been plaguing this contest.

One thing I think that's taking the fun out of these contests (talking about the Wednesday and Friday ones too) is that many people are taking them way too seriously. For some, it's just how they perceive contests. For others, it's the lure of getting costume codes. I imagine you'll get a lot less people n-raging about these contests if the CCs are taken out of the equation. I also know that, that was the entire point of these contests: to give players a mean of getting these codes alternative to going to Comic-Con, PAX, Hero-Con. So the CC prizes are here to stay. With that said, if Avatea does choose to "close down" the word searches, I hope she would consider instead keeping this contest alive, minus the CCs, and do a separate contest for the CCs.

One other thought: the community has been coming up with solutions for problems for this contest and I think progress is being made. Starting a replacement contest means starting over with a potentially new set of problems. Enough of my ranting for now. Thanks for reading.

Because it is *not* a ten-word, correctly spelled, linear word puzzle.
Have you been reading the thread? Apex is not part of the list. And you're better off directing your questions to Avatea. I'm wondering as much about this as you are.

There're 7 confirmed words that were found in previous posts. So I'll focus on the 3 that are missing: Finder, Pirate, and Surging. I see an incident of Suging and one of Sruging, but not Surging. And I see an incident of Fnider. And I don't even see anything resembling Pirate. >_>
  22. If you used a word search generator program and are currently looking for the words yourself because the program didn't provide the solution, you might want to just post the list of words so the rest of us can look too.
