My first level 50 took me just over a year to get. I currently have 4 level 50s. I think it is more about the journey to 50 rather than the arrival.
-
Personally I am sort of with the OP. If someone sets themself to LFT I just invite. If they are set not LFT then I don't bother sending an invite or a tell. Setting the LFT flag states you are looking for a team. If you are in my level range then "invite sent". I don't screw around with "Hi, I am currently in the area of looking for team mates to join me for mutual enemy bashing at or around the level of $level, Applicants must have super powers and GSOH".
Although at the moment with the tell system being screwed I just solo and recieve "Tell asdf" as a tell. My search comment is "just invite me as tells are broken and I won't get them". So much for people reading search comments. -

Any advice on this? What have I done wrong?

Expected it to work.
I have tried and failed to load costumes for characters with no modification on the scales. I think it is just bugged in general. -
Monkey see, Monkey click.
I like that one. I must remember to tinyurl it so it isn't so obvious -

I think I will not log my Maastermind in until then. That way I can get Double XP and Patrol XP at the same time. May just manage to get my first villain 50
[/ QUOTE ]
Capital idea except for the fact that DXP and PXP don't work together. When DXP is in effect, PXP isn't.

/em grief
Noooooooo!! all my plans gone to ruin. when will I hit 50 with a villain.. when?!?!
Maybe the day that patron pools are a nasty rehash of other powers I don't want or need. -
Enhanced graphics - But you won't be able to see them as you have to turn down/off the settings to get a FPS above 5.

Should have said that I have a few characters at normal height (5'6-6'1). I also have a couple at minimum height. The most notable being Mega Midget. Minimum height maximum bulk, although it is ruined when he goes granite armour and becomes a towering rock.

I quite like it when you get
Amazing game, top marks - Evening Post
Best game of the year - Sunday Mail
and such like. It just means that the game is so bad that no video game magazine/site/show would give it a rating above 'ugh get it off my machine' -
I have seen a fair few good ones. some are very silly, but still very good. I tend to take demo recordings of ones I really like. One day I may do some images of them.
As for the costume sets. I rather like them as starting points. My fire blaster has a costume that started out as the justice armour set and got evolved. The closest I got to using a full set was the boxing outfit for my tanker punch drunk pappy. -

I remember the days of debt at lvl 10
[/ QUOTE ]
I feel oldI remember debt at level 5. Just in time for the hollows to loom into view.

Does it reflect bad on me that my mains still can't play in any setting but the lowest one, I can't take down an EB with any of them and I still find the game quite hard when playing with them?
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends on what your mains are. I have 2 level 50 blasters. one AR/Dev and the other Fire/Fire. the AR/Dev struggles at times against Heroic. The Fire/Fire runs on Unyielding so that she gets a challenge. To me this is a gross mis-balancing of the powersets.
In general I would say that the game is considerably more forgiving than it used to be. I can remember letting the noobs in the team rush in for the alpha so that I didn't faceplant. Now I am the noob leading the charge. So I die, so what. Any and all debt is usually paid off by the next spawn. With the addition of the low level travel powers gained via the radio missions there is less chance of getting creamed on the way to a mission. So things like the aggro radius that enemies have isn't learnt by new players. I used to think it a challenge to cross the gultch at level 5 dodging the enemies so I didn't go splat. Now I just hit kings, do the missions and get the flight pack. Then go to the hollows.

Would the easiest way of making it harder without putting some people off be to add a new level of difficulty above Invincible
[/ QUOTE ]
But what would it add? more enemies? Higher level enemies? I know my MA/Regen can handle +5 bosses with little problem. Just to push my luck I rushed a fake nemesis and a warhulk both +5 to me. I kicked them all round PI and reaped the XP.
What we really need is better AI, I know it is a lot more work than just slapping more HP and a higher level on enemies, which is the usual response. Imaging the scene. An empath, a stone tanker, a blaster and a scrapper all go after a fake nemesis. The nemesis sees them coming and fires his knockback blast at the defender. the tanker taunts and he moves away from the tanker, who lumbers after him. He then recovers from the taunt and nails the blaster with a knockback. Seeing that the scrapper is about to crash in unstoppable he targets the scrapper and plants a good one on him, down goes the scrapper. The tanker taunts and the FN is off dodging again. The defender goes to rez the scrapper and the FN nails him with knockdown again. etc. etc. Ok I know that is not really how it would go, but wouldn'y it be nice if the enemies had other responses other than run at, hit, hit, hit, hit. or stand still, shoot, shoot, shoot. As other responses what about.
Panic. One of the groups is one shotted. A minon takes off to get help, while the rest do delaying tactics to let them escape.
Fall Back. The enemy falls back towards the next spawn. Attempting to either draw it out into a ranged battle or to get you to trigger the next spawn.
Tanker return. The enemy taunts you. You rush a white dwarf and it uses its taunt and pulls in the heroes.
Delaying tactics. Enemies throw down things like burn, ignite, caltrops, quicksand and then withdraw. The same as heroes do.
Rush em. The leader of a spawn (boss possibly) picks a random target and the whole spawn rushes them. This would be after the alpha so it would be an OMGWTFBBQ!!! moment.
By the way, yes, these are designed to get people killed. Teams with charge, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, rez, hit, hit, hit, rez as tactics will find themselves getting hurt a lot more.
Also how about varying the powers that the enemies use as well? At present every hellion scorcher has the same powers. Don't they know about ED?
Or missions that actually require you to not wipeout everything moving, but infact give penalties if you try to. These could be more fun to deliberately fail as well. So you need to access a machine without destroying it. If it goes boom, you get increasing size waves of enemies coming to find out why the machine went boom. All you need to do is escape. Combine this with enemies throwing caltrops and you have a nasty mission, or some serious slaughtering fun. Have it be a maximum of N waves ending in an EB. When the team exit it is MISSION FAILED! so there is no farming chance there.

That has to be one of my favourites. -
I wouldn't say I have one main so to speak, but the main characters I play would be a blaster and a tanker.
The blaster dreams of a time when defenders and controllers don't out damage him, and he can solo lieus without having to run for his life.
The tanker likes hitting things. His main goal is to clear grendals gultch with a hellion on the receiving end of pendulum. -

how does a merging server mean a game dieing look at eve online one bloody server
[/ QUOTE ]
A better example may have been Planetside. It merged US servers at one point. Although it is still going.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, a better example would have been ANY game that has more than one server. EvE always has been, and always was, designed to run serverless. It's totally useless to try to use it as a comparison with games that have multiple servers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well yes
Although Planetside did the whole merge thing and hasn't seemed to suffer for it. -

I was in a team with my fire tanker the other other night and was amazed at how fast a shield tanker was getting creamed. I know fire tankers are not the most rugged of tankers, but the shield tanker was getting eaten alive and we were fighting level 43-45 Rikti.

For the record I have an archive of a lot of the guides. It is selective to the ones I liked and thought were some good but I do have a fair few.

i did remember reading something about this on the US forum from Sunstorm, i think he meant to be the Base guy redname and he was looking into the future about in improving rent
Issue 13 Base Q&A
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess the answer is then that they are keeping the mechanism in-game and live until they decide the 'direction' of bases. If they had taken base rent out altoether then folk may have moaned if 'in the future' they put it back again.
Side note, hope I'm not the only one who smiled when I saw mention of CoP - WooT!
[/ QUOTE ]
They want to see the direction of bases? Well its clockwise here but counterclock wise in the other hemisphere. -
I was using the power analyzer power and wondered if there was a way to extrapolate the various levels of each enemy based on one scan.
for example
Tsoo - Dragon Enforcer level 22
Max hit points 202.4
running speed 14.32
flying speed 14.32
jumping speed 30.14
max jump height 37.34
But without scanning a level 20 and a level 30 is it possible to calculate the stats based on a formula? I was going to assume that the HP works the same as it does for heroes, but what multiplier does it use? Does regen and recovery rate stay stable or is there another formula in action there? What is the calculation to move between a basic level enemy and a lieu or a boss?
I am after this for a project I am working on and would like to complete it. Without knowing these things I am sort of at a dead end. -
Thanks standoff but I am after the ones for enemies.
e.g.
lieu gets X over a minion
boss gets X over a lieu
minion gains +x% between level 1 and level 2
that sort of thing.
Failing that anyone know if the stats progression is linear for enemies? -
I know this has probably been asked, and answered before, but anyone know how stats progress between levels?

How about a digital version of the CoH card game? Another company in the MMO business has been making card game after card game based on either their MMOs, or licence from TV series etc, and the latest one (launched in late August) seems to have quite a following.
