A lot of them were dated and not suitable for todays game as such. Even with issue 13s power changes most of the guides became a bit outdated.
Obviously a lot of good guides wouldv got sucked into the diet *soft drink advertisment* can by accident, just contact GR for the threads you want back xD (theyr saved on the internal boards?)

It's to do with this.
As you can see in the 'Migration' section, they're removing old threads so that they have to transfer over as little as possible to make it as smooth a transition as can be.
As was mentioned a few months ago and very recently in the annocenment threads, they've (the forum red names) have pruned all ooold and in-active threads from the forums ready for the new forums

Ahhh, cheers. That makes sense. Should've kept a copy of my guides - the kinetics one only needs a tiny bit of updating, and the Anti-tanking and Non-empathy guides shouldn't go out of date. Guess I'd best think about writing some new guides.

Still, removing all but 19 threads from the Guides forum really doesn't make much sense. Yes there have been a few power changes over the past few months, but the bulk of powers and powersets are unchanged or have changed very little.
It has nothing to do with power changes. It's to do with the forum migration and the need to prune old threads that haven't been active in the past 6 months.

It's a bit of a shame that no archive was kept. There were a few good guides there

GhostRaptor DID post and tell people to archive things they wanted to keep.
He's also said that they DO have a backup, on the beta for the new boards, and he CAN retrieve individual posts, preferably the OP ones. Just contact him with the thread title.

I didn't mean the posts were removed because of power changes, I meant that many guides would still be valid, despite the few power changes there have been recently.
For the record I have an archive of a lot of the guides. It is selective to the ones I liked and thought were some good but I do have a fair few.

I seem to recall posting a few guides, most recently only a few months ago. Went to look at it, and it's gone! Are older threads being purged from the Guides board? Seems a bit of an odd idea...
