  2. Welcome to the game! Hope you enjoy it as much as i have.

One thing that is very different in City of Heroes compared to other MMO's is that the game is very heavily instanced. There is not much outdoor grouping so to speak.

Joining your servers global chat channels will give you an outlet to look for teams.

Setting your "looking for' message to something along the lines of "level 13 dom lft" will make your toon stand out to others that are building teams.

Also dont be afraid to open up the looking for window and start sending tells (whispers in WoW) to those around your level range and see if they want to join a team that you yourself lead.

    Good luck and have fun

    PC freezing up

check under the development forum, there is a tech issues sub forum there that has a good group of people that are generally happy to help. you will also find a faq for common problems with CoX.

Hope you can find what you need to get up and playing smoothly soon
  4. EM/ELA: My 1st toon to hit 50. Made in I7 and really hit stride when IO's launched. This toon got Io'ed the old fashioned way... By selling Wing Recipe drops back when they went for 10-30mil each. Never played after I took a year off from the game. So I dont know how much better energize could make him. Frankly dont want to see what the nerfs to Em/ did to him either. Attack chain used to be ET>BS>TF repeat. Now ET takes so long to animate I'd fall asleep before the damage hit.

SS/FA: Great all around toon. AOE is awesome. ST more than enough to get the job done. /fa can be so squishy sometimes but you got the great heal and you do a ton of damage. This toon hit 50 in the coolest way I can imagine. KO blow for the kill on Statesman on a RSF... Ding! Even if he isnt my favorite brute that will always be my favorite level up moment.

Dm/Wp: Easy mode for soloing. Gets a bit dull with no AOE but feels very powerful.

Many many others that are all lowbies 30 and under at the moment

    Edited for clarity

    AE Question

If you are using AE for content then you are going to slow your leveling speed.

Well written stories that are dialog heavy are going to take longer to run than paper/radio missions.

Just actually reading the intro's and dialog in a good AE arc is going cut into your xp/min.

Then you have to take a look at the time that you spent earning 0 xp either looking for a good arc or playing a bad arc and deciding it is time to go back and look for better content.

So Radio/Paper missions are going to probably be better for leveling when you cant find a group to run with.

All that being said the AE has a ton of great content that is worth slowing down and playing if you have the time. AE also have a lot of junk that no one should be subjected to ever. Luckily for all of us the folks in the AE forum have been pointing out the diamonds in the rough. Take a peak in there sometime and see if anything catches your interest

    Your welcome

Your Welcome to whomever bought my Regen Tissue +Regen for 35111 on redside... I Was trying to post it for a bargain price of 25mil when my 6 month old son thought that it was the perfect moment to go click on the mouse lol.

The moral of the story: Never try to place items for sale whilst holding your infant. You might just lose out on 15-20mil in the blink of an eye.

Oh Well back to rolling bronze drops on the ticket farm. The 3 Steadfast +def that came along with the +Regen will take the sting out of the loss
  7. [QUOTE=beyeajus74018;2577247]Take it from a father/husband who has very little time and has to get up constantly when he has time, Brutes, Masterminds, and stalkers are perfect for soloing. [/QUOTE

Going to have to second this response. Scrappers are nice blueside for solo play also.

Any AT in the game can be solo'd but some will be much much slower at it then others.
  8. going to jump on the 10-14 bronze rolls bandwagon.

your going to be able to put a down payment on a scrooge mcduck style money pool by the time you get done crafting and selling steadfast 3%'s and all the other high dollar goodies that drop from that reward bag.

If you hit level ten, but was not trained up to level ten, in someone else's bank run, then you are not Security/Threat Level 10, and don't qualifty
I see the problem being that I didnt train before the bank mission last night. I was solo so hadnt thought to bother with the extra trip to the trainer. Thanks for the reply
  10. Hey guys I was away from the game for about 6 months and just started playing again. I was wondering if the temp travel powers that used to be granted from completion of the AP and Kings Row Mayhem Missions are no longer being granted for completion of those missions?

I did the Kings Mayhem last night just before I logged off. Robbed the vault and defeated the hero. Clicked the exit button and got nothing for it.

I hit level 10 from xp from the kill on the boss so I should have still been the correct level range to get the zero g pack correct?

Not really concerned as I'm getting the MA booster tonight so Ill have ninja run to get around with, just curious more than anything.
  11. Either Im one of the lucky ones or things are starting to smooth out. Just tried to update and log in. Had to get the hotfix 8.4meg patch and that took bout 15 seconds then i could log in just fine.

Hope its starting to clear up and let the rest of you guys in who have been trying for hours now

    I hate you Devs

So, let's recap. A group of developers (presumably) turned an advertised social event into a festival of griefing, exhibiting behaviors (fighting in Pocket D, camping the reclamators) that can and have led to suspensions for mortal players.

Just so I'm clear on this, is that okay because they were developers, or because it happened on the test server and not to anybody's "real" characters?

Just so I understand the precise configuration of the double standard being applied.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's posts like this that ensure this sort of thing will never happen again. Way to take away the beach ball pal.

These kind of parties have happened before and they will happen again.

I understand the nature of Photon's question though it reads fairly harshly at 1st glance. I dont see him calling for a ban on these types of events and he admits to not having been at this party at all.

I'd have to answer back to Captain Photon that while the "Dev Celeb" factor plays a role in the fun I had. The nature of the Test Server covers anything the Devs wish to do there.

Rules, game mechanics and even the toons you have transferred over are not guaranteed to be stable nor function in a normal manner on the Test Server.

I dislike PVP as much or more than anyone but getting ganked by some Devs in their pocket universe that they set the rules in didn't lessen my fun anymore than getting insta PL'd to level 40 in COV beta did.
  13. I had just finished a newspaper mission in Port Oakes of the go beat up X type, went well, handed Hamburger his rear. I was reading the paper to find my next mission when what do hear from an NPC?
"So you took oout Hamburger?, Big friggin deal. You ever hear of Ghost Widow? She'd kill you with a sideways glance"
I have never laughed so hard at the screen, nor felt less tough as a villian than at that point.
