Now here is the crux. I have no idea how to slot it. I have an inkling when it comes to the human-form powers since those are sort of similar to other ATs, though any advice there would be appreciated. At the moment I'm dreading leveling up vbecause I just know that I will screw up the slots.
But what really puzzels me is the Squid and Dwarf forms. Now have I understood correctly that the slots in a form (like Dark Nova) also affects the powers in that form? Like the tohitbuffs in Nova will make all the Nova attacks hit better?
Also you you can slot the Nova with both EndMod and EndRed. Now since the form itself doesn't seem to drain end I'm not sure I understand what the EndMod and EndRed's does. If i slot it with EndRed's will that decrease the amount of end the nova attacks does and if so what does the EndMod do then?
Can someone help me straighten these things out?

The end mods act like a mini stamina on the nova as endurance recovers more quickly. The end reds just reduce the amount of endurance used in the form. -

It still rocks in PvE watching all those confused minions running around in the arctic air killing themselves and doing the baywatch slo-mo with snow storm and freezing rain., all with Jack standing around not doing a thing! More vodka than ice on that pet methinks.

A few comments to your build:
- Block of Ice: doesn't really need an EndRdx, a Hold or Rechg would be better.
- Gale: I never use it, so haven't added any slots to it. I don't think it takes ThT_Debuf anyway.
- Frostbite: useful for immobilising groups once you have Tornado and Lightning Storm. Careful before then since it will negate the kdown of Ice Slick. Given how low you are on damage, you might take Chilblain and slot for damage first, then switch to Frostbite later.
- Hover: Fly is all I would slot.
- Shiver: people tend to go for this or Arctic Air. Each one has its (dis)advantages. I might take it at 49 just because I don't need anything else, but it's probably overkill in terms of slows.
- Ice Slick: 3 Recharges!
- Health: not great for squishies since it won't prevent you from getting killed from burst damage.
- Flash Freeze: not a great fan of sleep powers, but OK if you plan to solo a lot.
- Hurricane: see slotting suggestion above.
- Glacier: wouldn't bother enhancing the Slow.
- Thunder Clap: low-mag disorient, so not that useful given all your control options. Something like Steamy Mist is much better imo.
- Jack: he's basically perma until you zone (or he dies), so I don't bother with recharges.
- O2 Boost: even though it's only a mini-heal, I find it useful for emergencies when teaming and to keep Jack alive, so you might want to take it earlier (or not).
- Epics: I'm quite happy with Ice atm, and depending on when the new changes come in (i.e. Containment for Ice Storm), might or might not switch to Primal for Power Boost.

Good points there Okton this is pretty much how I played my ice storm up to 50.
Think slotted hover is pretty useful helps you get around missions a little easier.
Still not convinced with glacier due to it pitiful hold time but it is a good panic button, but if you are planning to be hovering out of range then it might not be so useful. I have a build at the moment which is more up close and personal with arctic air and CJ,SJ,Acro, a bit more of a rush and better PvP.
If you are going to be soloing then an epic blast instead of hibernate might be worth considering.
I have the primal atm and it seems to be the best the power blast is really useful as well! I have tried all 3 on my ice/storm.

Gotta say I agree with OkonOOb on his points. Fire kin plays much better up close and I have tried with various playstyles (presently lvl48). Cinders, FS, fireball,Hot feet, crazy imps = arrested mobs. What a rush!
Tactics tho seems to be necessary to get the most out of the /kin.
However each to their own and i am sure you will enjoy the set no matter what the build. -

The AoE hold is pretty much worthless in PvP. The recharge is too slow. Im sorry, I thought you wanted a PvP build, not a hybrid.

erm i did want information on a PvP build its just that you said i had missed 2 holds and the posted build did in fact have block of ice listed. So i was a little confused as to your post but not to worry. Also i meant that i have picked the AoE immob not the hold(glacier) as stated. Anyway this thread is getting a little confused and my actual respec bears little resemblance to the build posted for comment. It does appear however that people have lots of views and playstyles for the ice storm set as it is an excellent set with so much to choose from. -

Port and cigars sounds great and maybe some chin stroking as well.
Went for the power boost and blast root just for a change as i've not tried it seems to work really well tho the psi armour is missed for its extra protection. Tornado is great and I kept it.
Ended up leaving LS out tho i do miss it as it does look so good and moody!
Not actually practised much PvP yet so maybe while u puffing cigars i can freeze u out! -
Ice storm has so many good powers you will be struggling to fit them all in. I have a level 50 Ice Storm and have respecced through various builds. I agree with the must have powers and the fact that you will need stamina. Tornado does work well in PvP and can be fun in PvE if u use AoE holds to lock them down. Always fun to throw one into a room just for the chaos effect! Tankers will not like you for this power generally. Lightning storm has a great show off effect but has been nerfed somewhat and i have dropped it on my most recent build.
You can go for an up close build with arctic air, hurricane and the jumping pool to get acrobatics so you can get in close with reasonable safety, or for a more tactical overview build with slotted hover and lots of storm and AoE holds.
Glacier though useful at times has loooooong recharge and very little hold time and i have not used it since my first respec.
If you post a preferred playstyle I can post a build for you. -

This toon has been 50 for a long time now and was an excellent team controller. I want to start using it again and am trying ideas for a pvp build. I have taken out many AoE holds such as glacier and frostbite. I have also taken out tornado and thunderclap. Have added arctic air and the leaping pool for a more up close and personal playstyle along with aid self. I am looking for a ny comments suggestions on this build. My only worry is the damage output as it seems pitiful with this build and it seems I will be able to slow and hold but it will take forever to kill anyone!

I haven't taken it on my Grav troller (and might skip it altogether), but do use Fire Cages a lot on my Fire troller. Remember that AoE holds have a high acc penalty, so they won't be holding much before you get SOs. And as was said before, group immobs are useful for setting up containment, if you can survive the aggro.

I have taken it early on with my lvl 16 Grav Rad troller and it misses a lot so doesn't help keep mobs from splitting up and gets me a lot of aggro and not much containment as well.
Better off with a loud hailer and yelling "over here kill ME!!" -

Thanks for that advice Max. Makes it sound a little more interesting than i thought might roll ill/FF to keep the damage up. Had thought of doing mind/FF but i would like to solo when i need to and mind not damage heavy.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why I might want to roll a /FF troller. It is one set I have not tried and in essence it seems you only need the AoE shield and shields for teammates. Correct assumption? What would be the best primary for this set?
