Slotting advice

Hey all, i've been playing my fire/kin for a good while now and very much so enjoying it (lvl 31 as i post this).
When I8 comes live i plan to respec the toon a little bit and as i do so i thought i'd get some advice on slotting.

as i said above its only the slotting i want advice on, the powers are going to be like this and i refuse to change it :P

i currently only have fly for travel since that is my prefered choice, i am however picking up the jump pool for cj and acro.

PS I still have to say I'm very dubious about some choices: Health for a kin? (and 3-slotted!!!) 2 travel powers? No Hot Feet???

How come Hover and Acrobatics? Dont they do the same thing . . . and Hot feet is lots better than Bonfire actually does more damage than imps

Firstly to Okton, looks like its pretty close to my slotting that one, but only 2 in fly wont do (will explain why further down). and on Fire Ball i really thought 1acc 3dam 2End would do it, i run siphon speed perma and when needed i hit hasten, so having an End or two seems better than a recharge dont you think?

now, a little explanation to my powerchoices then, since it seems that is needed

i took both the jumping and flight pool because of a mix of concept and annoyance ^^

Fly is and will always be his main travel power, but i wanted cj and acro for the mezz protection.

i've thought alot about hot feet, went on test and tried it out, sure its a nice power but its really not for me. only times i wanna be that close to a mob is to hit Cinders or heal then back away again.

bonfire i took just for filling up really, couldnt decide what to put in that last powerslot so i just took that for fun

Fair enough, although with Siphon Speed and 3-slotted Hover, you're basically flying .

You'll need to be in melee a lot more often for Transfusion / Transference / Fulcrum. So Hot Feet does some extra passive damage (and quite a bit after Fulcrum) while you do other things. But if you don't like it, skip it .

You might get more utility from Smoke: the ThT_Debuf is small, but useful, the -perception lets you get closer before you hit Flashfire.

fair point on transference, i have it on my kin/dark defender and it is quite lovely, allthough it can miss, and the longer i can go on before having to use it the better

but you've made some good points and i'm gonna take it all into consideration

about flying with hover and siphon, kind of annoying having to siphon ppl all the time, especially during long flights, and siphon speed + 3slotted fly is much more comfy

Which is why a good kin tries to fit in Tactics (but that's another story...). In any case, I also play a kin defender and they play quite differently actually.

Gotta say I agree with OkonOOb on his points. Fire kin plays much better up close and I have tried with various playstyles (presently lvl48). Cinders, FS, fireball,Hot feet, crazy imps = arrested mobs. What a rush!
Tactics tho seems to be necessary to get the most out of the /kin.
However each to their own and i am sure you will enjoy the set no matter what the build.

oh i am enjoying it, very much so, only 5 bars away from Imps now and if i love it now i cant imagine how much fun it will be! i'm sure that, on my way to 50, i will change styles and powers various times, but for now the "safe" style is what i'm sticking too this being my first serious troller and all.

I don't miss much even fighting on Invincible...just slot 2 acc in every power and you're fine for the most part.

after getting my lovely cute little imps last night i decided i'd go on TR again and try out the build i posted here, liked it alot, i also tried another build this time with Hot Feet thrown in and i must say that with both hot feet and imps i've kinda had a change of heart when it comes to hot feet itself.

after some consideration about travelpowers, hotfeet etc. i have actually decided to have his future build something like this (with hotfeet this time ):

any thoughts?


i decided to drop Fly (can always get it back later) and pick up hotfeet.
the reason i changed my mind about hotfeet was because i decided it can be nice to have that extra damage when soloing, and when teaming i just dont have to turn it on if i dont want to

Looks better . I would just make sure to 6-slot Transference. You can easily move a slot from Health and one from SB (or an EndRdx from Hot Feet).

I manage with 2, especially after Transference. Maybe try switching off Super Speed and Super Jump when you're fighting Phil

uhm, why 6slot transference?
with 2acc 2recharge it gets 81% acc (15% base acc + 66% enhanced) and its up every 18 second.

slotting it for End Mod only affects the drain and draining them completely seems kinda unnecessary(spelling?) since i dont have any other -End or -Recovery ,other than Transfusion wich is minimal, so the End they'd recover that instant second after being drained is enough to keep them fighting anyway.

No: it actually increases the amount of endurance you recover too .

Yup....slot 2 acc, 1 rech, 3 end mod or 2 acc, 2 rech, 2 end mod according to playstyle.

does it really?? bc accoarding to my planner and those i've asked in-game it only increases the drain, but if it does indeed increase the gain as well thats just bloody marvelous

well, if i thought it was THE greatest power before this piece of information i certainly think so now!

gonna change the planner for both the troller and my kin/dark defender to fit in some End Mod in it
