What to choose between 5 powers.

I have a problem.

I cant decide which of these not to get when I do a respec. I can choose 4 of these powers, but which ones?

The choices that I have are :-

1. Repel
2. Propel
3. Crushing field
4. Acrobatics
5. Wormhole

Repel would be good for personal defence, plus if I go pvp it might help.

Propel for the damage and if I solo I would have 2 attacking powers instead of 1 (lift & propel).

Crushing field for the immob, but is an aoe immob any good if I get the aggro? should i get it and just not use it if I have to solo?

Acrobatics to give me status protect (already have CJ and SJ- want to keep SJ as I dont like relying on hitting a mob to get a travel power).

Wormhole for the ability to teleport foe. Anyone know if this teleports a group or one baddie?

Could do with some help and opinions please, I just cant decide which one not to take.

Kinetics (Repel)

Inspector n00b strikes again...

PS oh, and skip Repel which doesn't go very well with the other kin powers.

CoX 50s: <ill/rad> <ice/ice> <fire/kin> <grav/sonic> <ice/storm> <earth/kin> <kin/elec> <cold/psy> <thugs/dark> <fire/dark> <dark/elec> <night widow> <EM/ninj> <mind/icy>

Isn't Wormhole an AOE TP & Disorientate?

If so theres no contest. A second containment causing AOE mez. Mmmm.

Propel is always amusing, dispite its lack of damage.
Repel is cracking for PvP
Crushing field is a good follow up to GDF and (if ure lvl 41+) its good to use before you hit a high damage Epic pool power, i took fire mastery which adds to your damage out put

Acrobatics is good for anti-knockback

Wormhole is a good power although it needs a few ACC slots on it before you see how good it is... it can also save your team when they are 'on the ropes' if you use it well. it targets a group not just single target, so i'm afraid its not really much of a substiute for TP Foe. i think of it more as a panic button/source of amusement in outdoor missions

hope this is of some help

I think I can get away with picking up a different power at lvl 41+. The power pool most suited for me has only 1 power that I dont want.

I think its a contest between getting Crushing field pre-41+ and getting repel post-41+. I was aiming to either get repel or crushing field at around the 30's mark (after I got all the powers I need and are in a middle of a "what to choose.. i got what i wanted" patch).

So, should I get crushing field pre-41+ or repel pre-41+ (this would be around lvl30).

Crushing field.

Yep I'd agree. Just don't go nuts with it. Unless theres a Fire / Ice tank or a Spiney or Dark shieldy thingy Scrapper on the team to out aggro it.

Just as a note - your pet has the repel field. The singularity is also intangible, so you can go stand inside him if you want to watch mobs bounce away (or run through him if you're being chased). And this way, it doesn't cost you any end! Repel is end-heavy if you're bouncing a lot off it.

Propel is great fun, but I find that I seldom have time to use it in a team. The mobs are usually dead before the animation has finished. Soloing, it's a good addition to an attack chain. Smacking someone with a pool table is always fun.

The group immob is good, especially if you're teamed with a blaster who has rain of somethingannoying or you want to keep mobs huddled for mass-debuffing purposes (such as fulcrum shift).

I think of the ones you have listed there, repel is the one you are best to miss out.

[/ QUOTE ]It's actually the most damaging controller ST attack I can think of (not sure if spec. wounds is more or less), it got boosted around I4.

Yep, it's more damaging that Spectral Wounds. More often resisted though.

I'd get acrobatics. Mez and knockback protection is useful for PvP and PvE and allows you to get off that extra power instead of being knocked on your [censored] or sent to sleep.

Don't get Repel. All the other powers has uses.

Repel is a fun power just to run through mobs in Perez Park and see 'em bounce all over the place but overall pretty useless + as stated before you can always just go stand in your sing if you need the melee protection.

Was playing in Sirens last night and repel was pretty useful (had got it on a respec just to see how good it would be in PvP). It prevented me getting ASed which is always nice.

Thats true...forgot that one. But it has to be said that it's basically the only use for it.

In PvE theres no real point in taking it, 'cept maybe as a panicbutton but i would still recommend the other powers over it everytime.

I'd rather get repel than acrobatics, I hate the idea of mez protection for squishies, and repel can be used as a great control tool, especially post-ragdoll.

Yes, I see your point...I just love to lie on my back all the time unable to do anything while my team gets killed...come to think of it...maybe I shouldn't get any powers to make me better at what I do
