Congrats!
That is one crazy arsed feat!
Next week, on crazy Kahlan and co. Kahlan attempts the impossible by jumping the Grand Canyon ona Uni-cycle, with an anvil strapped to his waist, while making a cupaccino!
"Grand Canyon? Hah! More like a crack in the pavement!"
*Deep voice over guy*
Will he make it? Will he plummet to his death? Will he spill his coffee on the way over?
Tune in next week to find out!

Quote:hahah, cheeky stuff.I had a name "Fr0st Banshee" and I didnt like it, so I came up with a description that I copied/pasted off of wikipedia for the marvel superhero "The banshee" and then I copied his costume and had a friend generic me and I essentially got a free name change
Its giving me ideas.

Quote:Quote:I'm curious if you even ever pay attention to what's going on in the world or if you just make stuff up as you read it and if you really believe that is what is going on. Going Rogue is New Zones. New ATs. A whole new world and I may have forgotten to mention but Carnival of Light... Yes... they were hinted at by Posi. AE is nothing like what Devs write, what we always ask for 'new content.' If you're not interested in it, I'll expect to never see you in Nova Praetoria.
There will always be things that don't work. That's what you get with an evolving product. Base raids you're not gonna get till after Going Rogue. That's what they are focused on, so you may as well get over it.
You know what? I figured it out. You post just to oppose everyone else.
Congratz, you have the Drama-Queen Title. Enjoy.
Hahah, funny stuff Friar, made my day.
And to Felecia...please direct your attension to this thread...

I bet the OP regrets saying anything negative about GR now...
I hope you post your previous comment there, it will be highly amusing. -

Quote:I hear ya on that one mate, theres being overly Politically correct and then theres just plan stupidity. Any name like that could have the potential for great harm.I did have to report one person, for whom I still feel bad about reporting, but the MM's name was that of a war criminal from the 40's. I felt it crossed the bounds of good taste considering the crimes that were commited. It was an obscure name, but one I recognized and reported. And it was changed.

Heh, i dont know what i was thinking but i made a thread last night with the simple title of "Mongoloid Porn Inferno."
It was a drunk-bored experiment to see how long it would take for it to get deleted (around 6-ish hours) because ive seen blatant misconduct go on in some of our threads with no consequences.
Was also an attempt to see what those consequences would be.
And it got me thinkin about other things that are policed, like in-game names for example. It got me curious as to how many people have had a toon Gen'd.
I, for 1 have and i know only of 1 other who has as well, hers was a reference to a movie title i think and mine was in reference to an illicit substance but there must be more peoples out there.
So, what was the toons name?
What did you change it to?
Do you think it was a result of being reported?
Mine was Burnin' Budand it was changed to iBud, my global handle.

Quote:I want to open by saying that I think CoV's system of unlocking contacts via Mayhem missions is a mistake. It doesn't make the game more proactive, since you're still reacting to opportunities. It just makes it more cumbersome.
Secondly, while I'd be happy to have a variety of paper/scanner mission TYPES, I'd really like to have the ability to target a specific faction. It really helps with hunts, and sometimes I just feel like taking on someone in specific.
Here's what I have in mind. We want something that's proactive, right? So instead of waiting for the paper to print something for us to react to, why not have a source of information on the enemy groups where we can go to check? It'd go something like this:
This is the PPD criminal database. Who would you like to investigate?
1. Freakshow
2. Council
3. Warriors
4. Tsoo
5. Family
6. Sky Raiders
Prompt: 3
Listing recent Warriors activity. Which would you like to investigate?
1. Robbery of a local pawn shop
2. Kidnapping of Dr. Winslow from the local hospital
3. Theft of Isis' Divining Rod
4. Suspected possession of illegal artefacts
5. Arrest warrant for Yanis "The Strong" Sertakis.
6. Suspected gang activity in the abandoned Peterson office complex.
Prompt: 5
Yanis Sertakis, the leader of a violent Warriors faction suspected of multiple thefts, assaults and a murder, is believed to be hiding out in a cave complex underneath Talos Island. Sertakis is considered armed and extremely dangerous, and no PPD forces of sufficient strength are currently available to enact his arrest. This is an official request for any licensed heroes to arrest Yanis Sertakis and bring him in for questioning.

Of course, that sort of thing is a lot of work to pull together and a lot of work writing missions. However, these missions might end up being slightly less random (and random isn't exactly good, judging from experience), make more sense AND give us better opportunities to actually do something truly proactive. And I mean proactive in terms of narrative, not just proactive in that "I clicked a button, it wasn't automatic."

I like this idea...a lot.
Reminds me of the old Matrix game. -
Quote:Im in the same boat here, my computer isnt bad but it isnt a NASA comp either. I have over 3 gigs also and yet, sometimes i have time to bio while waiting for the Market to open, particularly on DXP weekends.Factually incorrect. I have over 3 Gigs of RAM - the most 32-bit OSes can address - and I still have this problem. This is not an issue I can fix by installing more RAM.
I also get the "greyed out" bug(?) with some items, where you have to click the item and then it finally shows. -
Jeez, this is an old thread, but i might as well keep it going.
My names Darren but thats names about as cool as Hitler's. Im 22 and i live in Rockingham, a coastal town with 5 or 6 beaches thats about an hours drive from the capital city of Western Australia. Im currently between jobs and im too lazy to go find one...plus CoX takes up too much of my time.
I would call myself a Tradesman because thats all i have ever done, i'd love to get into Astronomy but iz be too unedumacated for that.
I like long walks on the beach, candle lit dinners, the sounds of birds in the morning blah, blah.
But seriously, without going into my lifes story, ima big SNAG at heart that dosnt like to wear the pants. Hellllooo, lay-dees!(hah! sounds like one of those internet dating sites)
Ive been told the only decent pic i have is this one...not very photogenic.

Quote:I take it you've never seen an episode of Star Trek or the X-Files then? What gets me is how can they take a story that was boring as a half-hour TV episode, and make a full movie out of it?
*ducks and heads for cover*
I know the trekkies will want my blood after that comment. -

I'd have to agree with Phire, it looks fairly good, from what ive seen of the previews that is.
The question is, will it rival Transformers 2 for the shiney eye candy though? 'Cos you have to admit, that movie looked pretty sweet. -
Welcome!
Another Aussie?! Glad to have you on board, we are few and far between on Champ.
The place truly has gone to the Americans. -
I would've said it looks ok but then i saw that Cameron Diaz was to be the main so it will epicly fail.

People that think HeroCon is the shizz... (there may be some jealousy in this
)
People that believe just because they had to walk through fire and glass and bees to get something, so must you... -
I honestly thought that it would gimp my +rech too much and that i would have to take some wierd powers to do so but i guess i dont really need 100%+ and hasten.
Thx Kahlan, for making me feel the fool, yet again! -
Great guides! +Rep for you!
Havin seen what cold domination can do to romans ive always wanted to make one but ive never gotten around to it, thx for the push. He will be shown much love and purples. (is also a +rech junkie)
Also, how much ranged defense do you think would suffice?
I kno soft capping would be stupid so im inclined to think 25% will do. -
Quote:Because I wouldn't want to keep subscribing if I get nothing out of the deal.
Vet rewards - costumes, powers, perks, and all - help keep players who are having waning fun levels from cancelling. You may think I'd lose nothing, but I'd most certainly look long and hard at my recurring billing during periods of boredom if/when I suspect that they'll kill the system, or even start gutting it a bit at a time (what you want them to start doing, from your posts).
Separate styles of things that are mildly derivative but not nearly the same? Go ahead. The vet reward pieces need to remain vet rewards, though, because that's the incentive to stay instead of just doing the drop back in for a month when issues drop kind of thing.
I highly doubt you would cancel your sub because they made costumes available to all...It might be the last straw on an already crumbling house (your perspective) but i doubt it would be a big enough reason, on its own, to quit.
Tell me, what would you lose? -
Quote:I couldnt agree with you more but you arent goin to lose anything if they make the costumes available to all, so why would you quit?Vet rewards provide an incentive that causes people to forgo that kind of behavior. It retains the cashflow of players who enjoy the game and the rewards enough to not quit at the drop of a hat, instead of letting them sever their ties and roam off to other pastures, perhaps never to return.
Or is it "Hey! I had to walk through glass, fire and bees to get muh stoof! So everyone else should have to struggle as well!" ? -
Quote:As always Dave, you have missed the point of the thread...I suggest you read every post...and slowly, so that it sinks in...Having played this game since the start, I like the veteran's reward system. Seems like us vets should get some sort of reward for paying/playing longer than the other players.
To the OP, if you want to be able to have shorts, I would petition for the devs to introduce some more costume pieces, not overhauling/changing the veteran's reward system. I think it's much more likely they add some more shorts than changing the rewards system. Changing the vet system would probably upset some people, whereas adding more costume options would not.
Quote:Would I pull the plug on CoH if the vet rewards went away? Yeah, I'd go explore some of those other games, be a Green Lantern or something, it's not like I'd be missing out on any vet rewards. I would tell myself at first that I could always come back. And then a few years would go by and I'd probably realize I'm happy in my new MMO home. -
Sorry, i wasnt able to attend today because of some RL dramas...people need to learn how to drive properly...
