Quote:Wait JUST a second. You get part of a closet?Article
So, the 2 costumes we've already seen (shiny pants and non-shiny pants) are BOTH going to be in the show, as well as a not-yet-seen third costume that will be the more iconic look, with the short shorts.
At first I thought, "Why does she need three costumes?" Then I thought of my wife, and all her clothes taking up 3/4 of our closet (I'm grudgingly allowed the remaining 1/4). And her clothes in the hall closet. And those in the other hall closet. And the ones taking up most of the room in the closet in my son's room. And the ones in the two cedar chests. And the clothes in the armoires (stand-alone closets). Oh, and her clothes in the dressers in our bedroom. So yeah, we're lucky there are only three costumes!
Please explain to me... How do I get in on this action? -
"Liberal Media Elite", my Stephen Colbert homage.

It seems that the (guy in the front) of this group, and a few more of the mob are quite angry, and the others seem unsure of their ill-intent.
This group is possibly being unduly influenced by the negative charisma of the 'man in front' (who may not even be the leader - I've got my eye on the 4th guy to the right - he looks even angrier than the guy in front, and he's got an even more vicious, 'up close and personal' weapon.
I mean, seriously, can you imagine actually attacking someone with a weapon like that? PTSD, order up!
And the guy just to the right, he looks quite unsure of himself - I don't really think that when push came to show, he'd use that sickle at all - he'll just drop it and run, possibly screaming.
And how about the guy immediately to the left and behind the middle guy? Looks to me like he wants nothing more than a sandwich.
This 'mob' has phail written all over it. -

And BTW, since no one mentioned it, there were at most 2 seconds left when we finished it. I suspect there may have actually been less than 1 second remaining, but I know my clock had less than 2 seconds showing (I was hitting powers with hands, nose, feet, other appendages...
so I couldnt watch the timer all the way down.)

I'd like to be able to use a command, for example, /Judgement to activate whichever power is currently slotted in my Judgement Incarnate slot, rather than have to use /Ion Core Judgement. [same for any Incarnate slot that can be activated, like Lore and Destiny]
(This is so I can avoid having to change my bind when I switch or upgrade. Cause I'm lazy.)
I know there are more important things to do, but I'm just sayin', it'd be nice. -

Just imagine in real life, you hear, out of absolutely nowhere at all,
"Gofornogotsinger targetted and ready!"
and then this gigantic flashing red circle appears under your feet...
Are you going to stand around and ask what a Gofornogotsinger is? -
Quote:Erm, I take it all back. I for one welcome our new independently stinkin' wealthy, well armed, mobile and heavily armored Overlords.Yeah...
Every time I see one of these, I think of these guys, who are actually working on doing it.
Their major funding is from their CEO (I believe) who is independently wealthy from his stint in the technology sector during the dot com boom.
Also, I'm going to start investing heavily in solid steel ball bearings about 9" in diameter. Get me... i dunno, a billion of them. -
She saw Ep. 3... and said, "Um, so let me get this straight. The younglings ended up... Ya. I'm gonna... JOIN THAT GUY!"

Ah, ok. If it's intentional griefing, that's one thing. Not Cool.
But if a bunch of heroes and villains find themselves gathering for an epic mission in PD, and some of those people who have recently acquired Phenomenal Cosmic Power in this endeavor can't help but test out those powers and revel in the experience, that seems perfectly RP-consistent.
I felt that was more like what the object of the OP's derision was referring to. If I am mistaken, I take back my comments. If not, I shall taunt you a second time. -
Quote:I do find the highlighted statement interesting. While other MMOs were making the gameplay harder and harder, not giving in at all to simplifying/shortening/abbreviating level progression and UI enhancements, CoX went in the opposite direction... Others raised the level cap, CoX refused on principle...Fear of failure I doubt, and this individual in question sounds like someone that cares about who joins his team (not exactly min/max player, but probably doesn't want to team with a petless MM for example).
As a result, this individual in question may end up liking the end game system with the market leader.
40 man----->25 man----->10 man
Why is CoX trying to go in the opposite direction of industry trends I don't know. CoX was highly regarded for its small group content for a long time, and when the rest of the industry has started to follow this formula, CoX decides to give up on its Golden Standard???
No wonder this individual is jaded.
I'm sure others are more qualified than me to give more examples about how CoX has repeatedly bucked industry trends to the benefit of the playerbase. So now "they" 're all going to smaller teams... though I'm (wildly) guessing the content is geared to the UberElite players...
And CoX is providing something suited to larger groups - this may be considered in some ways consistent with 'bucking the trend', no?
When the Market Leader responds to actual player input, and not 'market trends,' maybe they'll have something I want. They can count all the money they want, just not mine. In the meantime, lulz to the Market Leader. -
I find this humorous. "I want to RP... as long as there are no outside influences to affect my RP, which could enable me to react to the situation in an in-character sort of way. I want a very tightly controlled environment in which to RP. I'd like everyone to stand in a designated space, recite lines that I have specifically laid out, and not bring any random elements into this little space I have designated that might disrupt my elaborately staged reality."
Isn't RP, um, playing a role? Don't people react to the circumstances in which they find themselves?
So what you're looking for is the absence of any RP; instead, you'd like a set piece performance, which others are free to watch. Kudos! I'll be over here, not participating in that in any way. -

It makes me shrug. There is such a big difference between wanting to feel important and being important.
In my limited experience,
people who qualify for the latter don't bother with the former,
and people who achieve the former are seldom the latter. -
Whichever one you like playing the best. I would guess that the Doms would do well on BAFs, and the brute might do well on Lams, so you might just do all 3 at once - you can alternate to maximize your Empyrean merit earnage.

Or (in case it hasn't been mentioned), tell your friend that it's OK to take a break, play some CoD and get faced and berated by ADHD 12 year olds on Red Bull and pixiestix, then when he comes back all beaten down he'll have a new appreciation of what is good about this game.
Seriously, everyone needs a break now and then. -
I don't want the first one (I don't need to be told taht I'm too slow clicking the green button, tyvm...), but I would add this, to a bit of risk of the same problem, though -
Highlight the people with at least one Molecular Acid in one color, and the people with the (un-enrage Marauder power) with a different color...
Oh. I see Dumple seems to have mentioned that. -
Agreed. As a very active participant myself, I really don't care if someone is 'leeching', I'd rather risk that then having a team get less because they are a Rad, for example.

Apocalyptic Revenge of the Chicken McNuggets!
"So, we're tasty with Sweet and Sour sauce, are we?? I'll dip YOU in Hot Mustard!!!" -
OK, I shouldn't be so negative about the possibility that this could be engineered - we've already seen amazing things.
I will say that on a volunteer, donation-based funding basis, with an inexperienced project manager, I'm pretty sure this would be a buncha money tossed down the drain, possibly used to enrich some random entity. With millions of dollars and NASA-level scientists behind it, I have no doubt it could be done.
A few example issues that would need a dedicated team of people: tolerances, materials, manufacturing equipment, design stress failure, general engineering design, cashflow... -
Hmm. I have a strong feeling that this may not really be physically possible in full scale. With a smattering of engineering experience and a degree in Applied Mathematics, I know enough to be dangerous. (Note that the guy 'attempting' this has "no technical expertise," in his own words. So he'll be like a project manager? I suspect this is more of a publicity stunt than any realistic kind of project.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big SW fan, and I'd love to see this work, but I wish an engineer would have come up with it rather than someone who basically has NO knowledge of complex multi-stage mega-engineering projects like this one.
Of the top, it may be that the energy required to move such a behemoth vehicle may outstrip its ability to carry the weight of an engine that can power said vehicle, for starters. Also, the legs are shockingly thin on these critters, so it may not even be able to support the weight on 3 legs at a time (which is the minimum if you think about how it moves).
The saving grace is that you're only moving one leg at a time, so moving said leg does not seem SOO difficult... you may need to shift the center of gravity a few feet around on each leg motion. If not, the vehicle might be inherently unstable, I think, and that might be a recipe for catastrophic failure...
Not so sure it's a good idea to send money to this 'cause' (ie, 'guy'). Other causes might put it to better use. I hear Charlie Sheen is having some troubs lately... -
You know they're colorable in the tailor, right?
