It was also a dev who strongly implied (in the European fora) that DP/Demon summoning would be in I16, and NOT in a paid expansion. Now, they seem to be IMPLYING exactly the opposite- a dangerous argument, I know, since nothing really specific has been said one way or the other.
Let's get a direct statement from a dev, please: is this the direction of the future? Everything useful/cool/desirable/asked for will be paid for, and for free we'll get....MA nerfs and...um....Vines? -

Attacking someone repeatedly could be construded as griefing especially if they announce their intentions in a civil manner in english :P The only thing gained from any pvp attack is a reputation increase and now recently a recipie. Every five minutes? Fine o.0 But since you attack a person over and over, the ONLY thing you get from it is the satisfaction of impeeding their progress.
Unless I'm mistaken, what else do you fet out of it reward wise?
However, we managed to get some civil pvpers to come over and beat on them while we worked on our base

UM-- SO not a hardcore PvPer, but...No? This is almost as wrong as complaining because the street mobs in Mercy try to gank you as you run across the zone to a door mish.
We had exactly the same thing happen- granted, they didn't keep attacking us CONSTANTLY- mostly because we kept sending their butts to the hospital. It was actually kind of a nice break from the 'trigger the MM's bots when she drops team, stand still and melt' routine. We got a couple of good scraps in and STILL got the generator for the group.
It's a PvP zone. expect to get attacked.
The other side of that argument, of course, is several times I've gotten snarked at by folks who wanted their duels to be private, and got real upset when I crashed the party...possibly because they were worried about their rep, or their drops? Sorry, guys, can't argue it both ways. If you're in a PvP zone, you might get attacked. Deal. -
Horribly scarred and vengeful ex-postal worker.

Option menu, GFX tab. be sure 'advanced GFX options' is turned ON- you'll get a whole series of new options further down the menu.
-
There are actually 2 steps to responding to feedback- collecting it and determining if it exceeds a certain threshold so that it requires action, and THEN deciding what that action should be.
What's your threshhold? If you've got, say, 100k subs...are 10 complaints enough to reopen a system? 1000? 10,000? As someone else mentioned, there's a grey area as well of non-reporters both pro and con.
Even if you have (Y) players saying something doesn't work, you will have (int<=Y) different opinions on how to fix it, in many if not most cases. Fix it one way, someone still complains. Fix it another way...someone still complains.
I'm one of the complainers, for sure. Almost all of us are. I like the things I like, and I dislike the decisions and fixes I don't like. I've snarked in here about things that I've thought are boenheaded, and, unfairly, more so than I've supported things I've thought went well. I think it's human nature.
So, rather than the usual Manichean 'the devs do/don't listen to the playerbase enough' thread (which we have plenty of already, thank you), maybe what needs to be discussed is the /system/ they use for filtering and implementing player-suggested changes. -
Well. NOW it shows green on the login screen, but down on the news page. And I still can't get it. Sounds like a forced reset. Was in the middle of editing a costume, hope that doesn't bork anything *sigh*. welcome to I15...
-
Obviously. But I'm curious to know if it's a hardware failure or another unannounced panic DT.
...Like they found out someone was farming Hellions in AEp

Was just forcibly kicked from Virtue with a 'lost connection to DB server' error. When I tried to log back it, V, Champ, Justice, Guardian, and Protector are all showing grey as if they're full.
We lose a router? Or what? -
In Darrin Wade's mission to rescue 6 hostages and defeat Sith'leen, for some reason the non-hostile hostages now follow you for a while rather than running for the door. After a minute or so, they'll turn around and bolt.
Extremely minor just...weird. -

I don't mind. The whole AE thing never makes sense. Heroes and Villains stop what they are doing to go play a video game. This is like a real life version of World of World of Warcraft. We make our heroes and villains in a game so we can play a game as them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Orrrr..you could actually *RP*a little, ignore the mechanic, and use the MA to play the stories you CAN'T in the core game- things specific to your chars or your SG. And then actually assume that they're as real as the OTHER mishes.
I agree, an AE in RWZ makes little sense. But it bothers me less than that the ones in Atlas and Galaxy are easily accessible for newbs, but the one in Mercy is in a +5 zone. Just like all those missions blueside early on that everyone complains about. -

Me, I just hoped it wouldn't go through because I believed that every idea in it would be implemented badly. So far I'm pretty much expectant to be right.

You know, I'm one of the first to jump on things I think are boneheaded...but this is just really out of the park. Have there been slips and screwups? Sure. Has EVERYTHING to date been badly implemented? No way in Hummus. -
*hugs* So sorry. Even when you expect it, it's always terrible. And someone ALWAYS tells you you should run right out and get a new companion, like that'll fix things.
-
uh...no? 'fix here, break there' is an NOT acceptable paradigm. If they were the first to ever use an embedded character editor, I could see it, maybe. But they've been around for at oh, a few weeks, now...as it is, folks have been asking for MORE space, not less.
Another quasi-half-fix. Yay. -
In fact, this bug has been present since I14 live. It SOUNDS like, from the OP, that they actually fixed it on test, and then borked it again. If that's the case, hopefully the fix will be reimplemented in the next patch.
Because yes, this was, is, and continues to be REAL DARN ANNOYING. -
What would really be NOT cool is if we end up with 2 powersets the community has been begging for for ages being available ONLY through a paid expansion :/
-
Actually, I saw something similar happen in a group starting an arc. We'd started once t and dumped out to...don't remember now, reset diff, or something. Reformed team, and suddenly the leader couldn't pick up the arc. We discovered that somehow the MA had INSERTED one of the runarounddoingsquat tutorial mishes into her list, filling her last available slot.
There are a LOT of odd, intermittent bugs in the thing. I've been unable to select certain mishes for no immediately visible reason- get the 'accept' window, hit the button, and nothing happens. I got STUCK in an arc once- after I finished it, the rating screen did nothing, and the contact acted as if it were the first time I talked to him. Had to log out and log back in to get free of it. Etc. etc. etc. -

A larger issue is probably what this is going to do overall to the villainside population past whatever level is required for crossing sides. There is simply more content blueside. Granted, this is less of an issue with AE, but as one can access AE from both sides why not be on the side with more dev content and have more of everything?

Redside:
-fewer annoying cross-zone FedExes
-no lvl 2 mishes in insanely dangerous areas
-No "Go talk to frigging Lt. Wincott" (instead redside gets the annoying 'go talk to this PvP 'contact' who just says 'behind me is the door to a PvP area'.' ALMOST as boneheaded and annoying, but not quite.)
-cooler Epic Ats
-getting to be, you know...evil? -
This bug has happened once before. IIR it's a server-side issue. very likely you'll find yourself reset after today's maint. period.
-
That same error can also put you over the allowed character count in MA text fields, I've discovered. For some reason the neither the character count routine nor the error trapping notices the added characters, but if you try to PUBLISH, it will tell you 'text too large'. Annoying, /bugged.

...somebody give me a good reason I can't name a mob neither "Zealot" nor "Disciple"
[/ QUOTE ]
Zealot is a character from the Image Wildcats series, and Disciple is a character from Spawn.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sooooo...someone gonna sue bible publishers for mentioning disciples(tm)? Or fisheries managers for talking about salmon spawn(tm)ing?
Come on. the most logical thing to do, if one is REALLY this paranoid- note I say 'logical' not 'easy'- is to maintain two lists: one applied to the name field ONLY, so noone, GOD (tm)...err excuse me DEITY(c) forbid names their custom critter 'Blue Devil (tm) Spawn (tm) of Satan (tm)', and the other applied to all the rest of the text blocks containing ONLY profanity, NOT words...

Well. the first 5-day down week since Iv'e been in-game. Wonder what THIS one is about.
Maybe they're removing the need to unlock MA content at all? since you can now score almost 2k tickets at a time from certain mishes, it's kinda pointless. -
Desks you can actually SIT behind. The various executive desks, desks w/compies etc are far too close to the attached chairs. You CAN make your own, but that requires more time and more pieces, and honestly usually doesn't look as good.
Heck, though, at this point I'd settle for ANYTHING added at all in the way of items...
