I'm trying to publish my first story arc. WHen I do I get this error...

"Unable to publish arc.: The field Description containd improperly formated HTML."

Anyone know what I need to do to fix this? And yes, contained is misspelled in the error, thought that was funny.

Thanks

Hee, that is funny.

But what's happened is some kind of unsupported HTML is in your description. Go back in, highlight it, copy it, and erase it, then paste it back in. Sometimes that gets rid of "invisible" tags. I can't remember, but I don't think you can have any HTML in the description at all, can you? If you have some, try taking it out. If none of that works, go into the file on your computer and look in the description section for  , which is HTML for "space" and can screw things up, too. Remove those, if you see them.

I've noticed that in some places, a simple carriage return is considered "improperly formatted HTML." Apparently, enemy "Info" boxes have to be one paragraph, no matter what.

Which is likely not as intended, as it also spread to our actual characters' info boxes (just don't open the part where you type it in and it won't happen, but if you open it once...BAM, wall o' text). I really hope they get that one fixed.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that. I have noticed that throughout the arc there are a number of places where it has replaced my carriage returns with <br>.

That same error can also put you over the allowed character count in MA text fields, I've discovered. For some reason the neither the character count routine nor the error trapping notices the added characters, but if you try to PUBLISH, it will tell you 'text too large'. Annoying, /bugged.
