At a bare minimum, you need to have something slotted in Alpha.

Quote:Your build seems to be more focused on damage than tanking on teams in Granite form. While in Granite form, your F/C/E/N defenses are horrible compared to what they should be. Even without Granite, you aren't set up very well.. You hit the S/L soft cap but fall short on E/N with only 28.6%. I strongly reccomend making two builds. I don't feel like putting that much effort into it, I was more looking for something where I could reuse a number of existing IOs and have granite be an optional power. My existing build only has granite and it's all but untouchable as-is, except for when I need to be more mobile.
I put the build together in Mids this morning to hopefully get more feedback than "it sucks, brah". I'll probably wind up mothballing it again or strip and delete at some point. -
I haven't really touched my Stone/Stone tank much since Physical Perfection was added, so I'm looking to redo it for inherent fitness. I'm taking the Cardiac path to help with the blue bar. I'm looking to have granite as an optional power, so here's my idea in Mids form:

The Red Fortunes were actually in for the 2.5% ranged defense on the 6-piece, but I've managed to trim them down some. I didn't slot Phalanx Fighting for defense because Mids says the bonus you get even when there's no friends near you ignores enhancements, and I'd rather not rely on having people near me to be softcapped.

I've been working on my BS/SD recently and I wanted to provide my current build so you can get an idea of how to get some extra rech and recovery. It doesn't have any purples, but it does have some rather expensive Hami-Os. Pretty easy to accomplish what you want, though. For example, if I wanted to take veng, I could drop Char and Super Jump or Super Speed.

As the title says, I'm trying to rebuild my BS/SD but having trouble wrapping my head around things since I haven't really messed with it in so long.
I have an old Mids build that I could post that reflects the current slotting and IOs, but it has been largely obsoleted. I took advantage of stacking BotZ in order to skip the fighting pool at the time, so now ranged mobs just eat my scrapper for a sharp snack.
Essentially, I'm looking for advice and/or any builds I could look at to get an idea of how a softcapped build looks in today's CoH. -
People are willing to jump at the bit to join a team, but are so unwilling to form one. I admit, I am not the type of person to form a team, even though I know it's easy to throw a PuG together and have done so on occasions where I feel like steamrolling radios/papers.
Unfortunately, this seems to be the silent majority of Freedom, as opposed to the vocal minority of those who farm AE relentlessly, regardless of zone events, code/database changes, et al. -
If I'm online tomorrow night, I can bring something. If I don't show up in the list of users in the channel, I'm probably not online.

Demons need to shut the hell up. I cannot remember the name of the power but the little mini heal that one of them has is also overly loud.
Female taunt sound needs to be changed or turned up.

Thugs summoning should be changed to an attention whistle, not that one piercing blast. -
Just how much benefit does multi-GPU/SLI give this game? I've been playing on a Radeon HD 5770 that I picked up some months back and don't really notice any problems.

No love for the Romans? I have a Broadsword/Shield Defense Scrapper for which I made a Praefectus Castrorum costume that's almost 100% spot-on. It confuses people on ITFs all the time.

Last time I did that mission, the office map had stairs on each floor. The chief was next to some of those stairs.

All of my Tankers have attacks, even my Stone/Stone. My Ice/SS is an aggro magnet, but I can also dish out some damage. I couldn't play a toon without attacks no matter how survivable, it would bore me to tears.
I did, however, see something odd that made me sad involving a Tanker. This one had Concealment, Teleport and Medicine. We were running +4 and zoned in to an outdoor map with blinkies and got ambushed, resulting in a couple of dead squishies. Questions arose as to where the tank was, look at the map and he's bouncing all around. A nudge by the team leader to kick and he says "I was looking for glowies". I believe he also proclaimed he was a "healer". -
When I bothered to log on a 50 and try CoP, the biggest issue was communication between the teams. The last time I was on an attempt, there were too many people saying "go" and "stop", but nobody listened anyway. I chalk it up to Freedumb living up to its namesake.

Scrappers aren't obsolete. If I want to play with Spines, Martial Arts, Broad Sword or Katana and I also want to be able to have some survivability without playing hide-n-seek, I'll roll a Scrapper. People will play what they want to play, regardless of how many of these speculative doom threads that pop up.
