Level 20-45 Grouping concerns

Hello everybody; first and foremost I'm not writing this with the purpose of getting trolling responses, or smarty answers. And my apologies if this thread has been created somewhere else.

I have recently reactivated my account to see how the new content felt like about GR, and very excited about the new patch coming soon. But one little detail I have noticed, how do people level in this game to this date? The lack of groups is just horrendous, and all I see broadcast-ed at Maps with the AE facility is something like this: " Level 52+8 Farm = 10Mil a run Level 53+8 Farm = 25Mil a run and Level 54+8 Farms =50Mill a run PST for invite" Also people that are low level shouting: "Paying lowy Looking for Farm" And this is just what you see on the Broadcast channel... Along with the random IM's with Power leveling advertisements from many individuals, when you are playing a low level character.

By experience, the only farce in the game when you will be able to play in groups is if you make a new character in Praetoria until you hit level 20 and move on, it is almost impossible to find groups at low levels, and you will either be forced to solo your missions and have a lonely and slow leveling factor, or pay Millions of influence or infamy to get some levels. To be honest, if this what has became of CoX - The game is just not fun as it used to be, thank you Developers for offering greedy people and desperate unfortunate ones the option to create new exploits the game, will not be the first time, I'd say.

Thank you all for your responses, and for taking your time to read this.

FYI, if you are looking for quality low level groups , there are a bunch of players that regularly meet in the VIP room in Pocket D. If you hang out there long enough you should be run into some of them and that might change your tune regarding low level grouping. If you don't have the VIP badge then just hang outside the VIP lounge door in the D and you might be able to catch them coming out.

I've never had trouble finding PUG's. I mainly play on Freedom. Sure there are quiet times and times when groups are so abundant they fill instantly. I avoid the profiteers like a plague, but hey, if they want to miss out on content, temps etc and then broadcast such questions as "where is the Hollows?" after they reach level 50, well, it says it all really.

The game has only improved and if certain players wish to confine themselves to AE, that is the game they pay for.

As far as PL providers go, if a player wishes to hand over their log in information to a third party it falls foul of the EULA and leaves those who engage in the activity open to fraud and with nowhere to go once their account has been abused. Be it on their own head

paying to group is outrageous in my opinion. You join a group and pull your weight or if someone wants to tag you along for sights to see and free xp then asking for a truck ton o' money just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Perhaps you are grouping (or not) with the wrong people, or not starting groups. I've found people are more than willing to group and are looking to do so but are too timid to form and run a group themselves, or find it too much of a hassle.

I for one will play with you whenever, sure loads others would too (currently lvling a stone/stone tank with a friend who happens to be a kin def, which is nice) - called jade prison and 'easy like methadone'.

Are you using the team search tool?
Are you using global chat channels?
Have you tried forming your own teams?

Doing some combination of the above three things will solve 90% of teaming issues. Beyond that, when you encounter other players you enjoy playing with, add them to global friends. Perhaps even find an active SG of players with a playstyle that you enjoy. Wandering around and shouting 'LFT' in broadcast is about the worst possible way to get a team.

I agree with Panzer most of the time when i play i start my own team and try to get people that are a couple levels below and above mine and try and get a good set of AT's to make sure things run smoothly. Most of the time that works because alot of the times when i join a team it seems like the leader does not know what hes doing. So if you need someone to game with im usually on everyday @Zendain if you want to global and game with me if im not soloing that is. Also Orphaned i think i teamed with you today i was on my Brute Shinra Tensei Kinetic Melee/Super Reflexes.

I'm fairly new and learned the ropes from a nice lv 30 stalker who invited me when I was on trial account. Since then, it seemed to me that folks just don't want to lead. I usually form a team and as soon as I broadcast 'forming a team', I get requests to join. When I ask folks via tell if they want to come, 70% say yes. Most of the time I'm on, I'm usually leading the team. My guess why:
1) folks want to be able to quit whenever they want
2) don't want to spend the time looking and asking people to come
3) don't want to bear the blame if things go wrong

I was on Triumph which is a low population server and I still managed to fill a team with 8.

Basically, this. The problem is rooted in the paradox where someone wants to team, but they don't want to step up and take the leader reins to get it started.

I never have problems forming a team with PUGs on Freedom. If I'm lazy and just LFT, I'll get one within five minutes depending on the zone. If I'm forming, I'll get a full team of 8 in under 60 seconds.

The problem that the OP cites is basically a social one. It takes a minimum of effort to form a team on Freedom, but it does mean doing more than just putting up the LFT flag and hope that someone invites you to all the missions you want to play.

Addendum: Kudos to crayhal for stepping up and being an active player.

I personal start my own groups when i need to get a task force done or something along those lines.

The problem is that many player's seem to try an find groups in atlas an nothing personal your not going to find a brickstone mishion posting in atlas.

The only thing you will find in atlas is a farm as far as a team an this is what it sounds to be.

An if you want to be power leveled then player's are going to want something for there time considering a low level can not pull there weight an because of field anylist there is no real need for fillers.

Just want to share what happened in Cap recently. I found it amusing and pitiful at the same time. Chat went like this: (names modified to preserve anonymity)
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon B: lvl 32 dom lft
Me (crafting at Univ): why don't u both form a team?
Toon A: I dont want to form a team, I want to join one.
Me: Well, then, good luck
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon A: lvl 30 stalker lft
Toon B: lvl 32 dom lft
( ... etc ... )

I form teams often, but the team and me may be somewhere else other than Cap. When I do a search, I give priority to those who have the LFteam flag set, regardless of whether they're 10-20 levels below me.
After I grab all those with LFT flags, then I will ask anyone who is not in a mission if they want to come.
Broadcasting repeatedly in one zone has a low probability of my inviting that toon on the team, unless I'm in that zone.

People are willing to jump at the bit to join a team, but are so unwilling to form one. I admit, I am not the type of person to form a team, even though I know it's easy to throw a PuG together and have done so on occasions where I feel like steamrolling radios/papers.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the silent majority of Freedom, as opposed to the vocal minority of those who farm AE relentlessly, regardless of zone events, code/database changes, et al.

AE sucks.....off some portion of the playerbase, but its still easy to find/form a group most of the time. Just broadcast something like running villian tips missions in sharkhead or cap and you'll usually get a 3/4-person group for your 1st mish in like 45 seconds. Do it again after you finish mish one and are on way to mish two and you'll often get to 8.

Yes the other day i was bored an found a sewer team rather easy.

Well first off I try to avoid AP, and Cap if I can, to many AE farmers there. Second witch has been stated before try joining in a global channel you will be surprised. I found a team for a TF today just by doing a few mish in cro trying to unlock that TF. I did like 4 or 5 TFs yesterday just off of global channels. There is teams out there if you know where to look and not in AP, or Cap. Some times if you look here people are forming TFs here.

1. Ignore the people advertising for farms/PLs. It's part of the game, but you don't have to participate. It's certainly not a representative sample of what "normal play" is.
2. At level 20-30 you can find pick-up groups in Talos Island. At level 40+ you can find pick-up groups in Perigine Island. 30-40 is not so easy to find groups... but if you bounce back and forth between Founder's Falls and Brickstown, you may be able to find a team. I usually have more luck in Founder's. I also find I solo through those levels quite frequently.
3. There is a big differense between playing on a highly populated server and playing on a less populated server. If you're on a less populated server, and it gets to the point you're thinking of leaving the game, try switching servers first. It really is a lot easier to find pick-up groups on Freedom then other places.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
