I'll throw my 2 cents in here, although I have never had an issue with deciding what AT i want to play (I want to play them ALL), I do solo a lot and i have tried a lot of different combos and ALL ATs (except VEATS).
First off I would say if you love melee than stick with that. Dont try to love range, if it isnt fun dont play it. Honestly there are a lot of melee ATs and dozens of different combos to never replay the same ones.
However, if you are really set on trying "something completely different" i would suggest an ice/ice blaster. This is my main and my first 50. Damage is solid and it has enough control to solo well. I found it very fun.
IMO i would not chose a dom if you exclusively solo, because honestly you are going to die a lot (until you hit lvl 32). You are not going to be able to build up your bar fast enough to do real damage until your half way through the map and a solo dom not in domination is about as tough as wet toilet paper. If you are actually having fun with the dom, I would say consider teaming him until lvl 32 (atleast).

I know this has been brought up in a couple of other posts, but I wanted to post it here in player questions to get a direct yes or no.
When I click "recipes" and then type a recipe name, it displays recipes AND enhancements. Am i doing something wrong? If this is WAI, it is dumb. Dumb Dumb.
Also i encountered a bug this morning, i wonder if it has been happening to others. I posted an item for sale and it didnt post, it just sat in stored. I posted it again and it sat in stored. I posted something else and it immediately went to selling. I closed the interface and waited a minute and reopened the interface and it was still stored. I posted it again and it still sat in stored. Has this happened to anyone else? I gave up and logged off, dont know what to see later tonight.

I know its a little stupid thing but it has been bugging the heck out of me.
Why does the demon dialogue always say "compact" when it means to say "contract"?
That cannot be just a "typo" that got missed, as someone suggested. -

I think it is the other way around as far as what is intuitively obvious. The dominator=controller is the question mark for me. That being said, I think it should be:
defender=MM
tank=brute
scrapper=stalker
dominator=blaster
controller=corruptor
tank=brute
scrapper=stalker
blaster=corruptor
controller=dominator
but there still is a problem because
defenders and masterminds have NO pairing even remotely similar. -

thanks Deacon I did not realize the phoenix rez doesn't apply to pets, I will skip that for sure as my MMs rarely team. I think I want thaw (yes im very diligent to their dazed wanderings), although they seem tougher than ninjas or zombies I think I will try thaw and see how often I use it before considering respec out.

Right now I am planning on taking ALL the /thermal powers on my DS/thermal because by the descriptions they all sound good. However which powers are not as good as they sound?
Forge? (ill have assault and tactics)
Heat Exhaustion?
I was considering sidelining plasma shield, but then I remembered Arachnos (who are one of the fews enemies that give my MMs trouble).
What would you skip from thermal on a DS MM ?? -
Last night I made a DS/Thermal and got her all the way to lvl 6 !!! WOOT.
Seriously though, I chose thermal because I didnt have one already and it goes thematically. I made an evil pirate who was captured and enslaved by a good witch and was forced to save the innocent. At death she was refused from hell because of her goodly acts and was banished back to earth, taking with her some heat (ie Thermal) and an animated demon tail. So far this is the most fun ive had with any prestamina char ive ever made.
As for powers personally I dont feel the patron powers are all that great for MMs (except the shield), so im skipping them on this char. So there is plenty of room to take most of the primaries, secondaries, fitness, travel and still get some leadership. Honestly if there is anything this game has a lot of its powers.
IMO MMs benefit least from +RCH and I never slot for that. As for Hell on Earth just triple rech it and have it up every five minutes, that twice a mish. -

I keep seeing post after post after post of people using the words "surely," "likely," "probably" and even "definitely" in regards to people getting kicked from teams due to perceived "bad power choices."
Let me give some examples of people who, according to the forums, will get kicked from the team because of their own foolish considerations:
- A Mastermind with no Henchmen
- An Arachnos Soldier or Arachnos Widow without Tactical Training: Maneuvers
- A Kinetics without Fulcrum Shift
- Any Kheldian
Maybe I'm just lucky, or perhaps Triumph is just a better server than the others, but in my experience, you are not going to get booted from a team based on your power selections.

If I was the starman of the team and I picked up a MM with no henchmen, they would be booted immediately. In the same manner I would immediately boot a tanker without rock armor or invincibility.
If I was the starman and picked a soldier/widow without TT, I would probably look at their vet badges. Under 6 months I would send them a brief polite tell. 9 months and over I'd stay quiet. Either way I would not boot them.
If I was the starman and got a Kin with no Fulcrum, I would send them a tell, politely but strongly suggesting they get FS as their next power choice. A Kin without FS IMO is like a blaster with no nuke, or a tanker without granite/unstoppable. Bootable based on how well they played their remaining powers. Although honestly I dont know if I have EVER seen a Kin without FS. Do they really exist?
I dont like playing Khelds, but I love having one or two on my team. A mediocre triform warshade can be nice on big teams. A well played triform warshade can make even small PUGs steamrollers. -

Thank you all for your input. This has been observed with two or three different enemy factions both redside and blueside and the duo was always formed before the mish was chosen. Part of me wants to believe this is working as intended even though it is extremely odd. I am going to try some different enemy groups and see what happens.

When I am set to +0/5 no bosses OR +0/7 no bosses on a duo I do not get any bosses (sometimes not even end mish boss).
When I am set to +0/6 no bosses on a duo I get bosses (about every other mob).
I know this is "working as intended", but it seems very odd to me.
Do you find this odd?
Have you experienced this ever?

I have "activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse" DISABLED, but it still does it sometimes. Even when I am at the AH. Is there anything I can do to truly disable this from happening? This is on Windows 7, and yes it is a laptop.

Nothing on set is an accident. All costumes and all props are carefully prepared long before the actors arrive. I am not familiar with this particular show, but if an actor is wearing a shirt (in any non reality show) with a logo on it, it came from the costume designer who got it approved by the producer first. It is not 'just whatever the actor wore that day'. The network probably got legal permission to do so from NCSoft ahead of time. Usually no money passes hands its more like:
Network: Hey were going to display some of your product. Can you sign this?
Creator: You won't show it in any negative context.
Network: No no.
Creator: Cool. Enjoy, here's my sig.
Network: Thanks.
Everything on set is done with almost military precision. Even the angle of product labels relative to the camera is monitored by the set designer. -

I was all "I want Demons NAO" for a while too. Then I saw them. Really disappointed with the fact that their heads are cattle skulls. Cattle skulls, really? That sucks. If I imagine in my mind what demon heads might look like, cattle heads are not in the top ten images. I am really really hoping they are customizable to some degree. I almost would have preferred cot demons with no originality then cattle heads. the power animations look good and the whips effects look good as well. I love the fact that they have cold powers as well as fire. I feared they would be all fire attacks. anywho

I will probably go thermal, for thematic reasons. Also I already have /poi, /traps, /dark and /storm and i would like to try something new if its convenient. I will start thermal right away, but if it doesn't feel right i think /dark would be good as well.

If you tell them to follow defensive and you are being attacked (even if the enemy is missing) they will continue to charge ahead and attack. If you tell them to follow passive (as Klaw stated above) they will break off attack and follow you. I have had the experience that a sniper that i didnt even see would take a shot at me and miss and suddenly the pets take off running, but checking combat tab always revealed I had been attacked.

That is kind of sad. People like what they can see. When they see one defender make a huge green number rise from their head they know they have been saved from the edge of the river styx. But a set like sonic isn't directly visual in its effectiveness. -
You don't NEED a healer. You want a healer. An empath on a team makes life easier. Especially in certain lvl ranges. The last time i logged my Empath i immediately got invited to a team one tank and three blasters fighting Ritki the blasters were sleeping the entire time and the tank was exhausted. CM and heal other were the only two powers i used, we steam rolled the mish. A couple mishes later the tank left. The blasters were going to quit, i told them go go go i will keep you alive. CM and heal other we didnt even slow down. CM and heal other and AB, yes you dont a healer, yes you want an Empath.
