I have been on 3 successful PUG's on Freedom but seen Zero on Virtue and when I attempted to form one during "busy time" I was utterly rebuffed.
Come on Virtue what's up with that!? Keyes is so much more involved than the other two, and IMHO fun.Is there a good time to find people interested in this, or has the server given up?
-
Clearly, the power for this pack would be "Line of Coke" and it would give you a speed boost while doing slight damage over time, with a medium end crash.
-
Or Pet Shop Boys Dunce Caps and Madonna Cone Boobs (I know technically early 90's on both)

Quote:ME!I love knockback. Absolutely *nothing* in this game feels as 'super' to me as opening up with a huge attack and seeing bodies go flying. Energy blast's Nova and the kheld equivalents are some of my favorite powers in the game.
Thankfully, I play on a server that doesn't seem to house nearly the proportion of KB haters as some people seem to run into. Never gotten any serious grief over it, not that I'd care anyway (especially as I *do* try to be sensible and not knock everything away from the melees, etc).
I love it. Even when playing a mele toon. Why? Because something on it's **** can't come up and stab me in the face.
The only time I've ever found KB to be somewhat of an issue is playing Willpower. -
According to Mids the LRM doesn't take snipe sets. Why the hell not?! It is a snipe, snipe sets are under used. So what's the deal?.
Also, why do so few sets do any sort of range increase. Esp: targeted debuffs & heals, end mods etc. -
-
I will take any buff, anywhere, anytime.
(Yes, that includes Sonic Repulsion, provided it's used appropriately). -
Quote:This! PleaseYeah for topics devoted to helping color blind!
So... when we getting custom powers listings?
In fact let me quote myself from the post I made on paragonwiki about this....
"Hey...for those of us that are "color challenged" is there someone out there that can see the full color spectrum who is able to take the color palates from http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:Colorchartall0sz.jpg and match them up to the bright and the dark color palate for the power customization screen? I'm not completely color blind, and I can tell that there is an obvious difference between the costume color chart, and the bright/dark color chart.
It would help if that person could assign the same grid number/coordinate that's on the costume chart for each color to the charts for the dark/bright power colors. That way those of us that are colortarded can look and say "oh I have color N5 selected as my pants color, so if my imps are also color N5 they will match".
I realize that instead of having a MSExcel like grid whomever does this will have to actually plug the letter and the number into each color circle, but I think since the palates are so different from the main, it would make the most sense.
The other option would to just use the same EXACT NAMES as are used on the main palate...though this would make it a little more difficult for the color challenged. (But still better than nothing!) Does this make sense? -detfrost1" -
Quote:K I'm reminding you; please research this.Remind me to look into this. I've done some "research" that brings the user agreement into question, and according to my understanding of how mezzes work, magnitude cannot be altered in any way. If Enhancements alter the effect of Only Affect Self powers and not the duration, then those powers must be configured differently internally.

Thanks for all the responses...
I guess one day when I'm feeling particularly saucy, I'll transfer my grav/sonic to TEST and respec and try and answer question 2 for myself.
However I have another question or two:
1) If intangibility enhancements are no longer relevant why are they still in the game?
2) If S/HO's are the only thing that can affect the mag of Cages and I assume Dimension Shift... can't the devs just apply that ability to the (apparently useless) intangibility enhancers?
Is there a developer that has commented on this yet? Is there a specific developer that is in charge of standard (non-set, IO) enhancements I can PM and ask? -
I have a couple of caging questions:
1. Do intangible cages stack? For example, if I throw Dimension Shift on an AV that ambushes my team while we are fighting a large group of enemies; the AV shrugs off the shift, if I then throw out Sonic Cage on it right afterwords will it stack and overpower the AV?
2. Do Cages even stack?
3. Why the heck does Dimension Shift accept intangibility enhancements yet, Sonic Cage does not?!
Disclaimer:
I do not want to read a bunch of posts/flames about any of the following:
- the situational usage of cages; I personally have found numerous uses for Sonic Cage on my Fire/Sonic corr, and Dimension Shift on my Gravity controller and am thinking about picking up Sonic Cage with him as well.
- the merits or horrors of PVP caging,
- That you would kick me from your team if I caged a single person ever; frankly I'm a conscientious enough player to know what's appropriate and what's not; and am quite adept at the tactical usage of cages in both a solo, small team, and large team environment. -
BUG with ALL CUSTOM AV'S (regardless of flight) AND "Lore/In-game" AV's that have flight.
-Even when set to do not flee based on health or enemy defeat...they all seem to run, and run like hell. This was not this bad before i16, now it seems out of control. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, because it's definitely a bug. -
I'm still one level away from getting it but I'm curious to know...
Assuming I cast on bruiser
1) It's not timed is it? Meaning, as long as the bruiser is still alive, the noxious gas is on him.
2) Assuming 1) is true: If noxious gas recharges before bruiser dies and I cast it on my Arsonist, what happens? -
Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted, I'd love one of the primaries too.
I'm also very curious as to why people seem to hate Mercs. -
I was hoping somewhere in there would be like a spreadsheet or google doc with what are the benefits and the draw backs of each primary, in and of themselves. What are the benefits and drawbacks of each secondary in and of themselves and why some things mesh well, while others don't.
I was hoping that because MM's are so complex that someone would have done this already.
I am sad I am wrong. I've tried making masterminds before, I even went through and key bound all the crap, but both of my masterminds were Merc/dark or Bots/Poison, and I hated them around level 14 and deleted them.
Is there anything like this floating around? -
Why hasn't this thread died yet?
-
Mind Control/Stone Armor is painfully hard, Especially if you are a mastermind!
Mass Confusion for the lose. -
I was wondering, why the following AV's/Heroes do not appear to be unlockable though they exist in the game.
<ul type="square">[*]Blue Steel[*]Sunstorm[*]ShadowStar[*]Moonfire[*]Katie Hannon[*]War Witch[/list]
I have fought Sunstorm before so I know he can be added as an AV; furthermore the Kheldian PPD have no trouble being inside the Architect Missions.
Blue Steel should be Very easy for them to Animate they already have the costume, just make him a Shield/something.
Moonfire is just a female Sunstorm. So I'm not seeing the issue here, and I'm not buying the whole "No custom Kheldians" crap right now.
So whats the deal guys?
I've been dying for a chance to beat on Blue Steel and Sunstorm in the same mission ever since I learned about Mission Architect.
Thanks in advance for responding.
PS. Female Carnies that come into mele, and are acrobatic, should jump kick, AND have acrobatics. -

What gets me is that evidently most of the people who are really upset by this change have figured out a way to play that most players never even think of or can't afford and also allegedly are so smart in how they play that their pets rarely get slowed due to them having parsed every possible battle configuration. No doubt they feel that the game is being hopelessly dumbed down for the great unwashed masses and I can see their point. Then again they are so smart that they will undoubtedly figure out fun new ways to exploit bugs that the clueless Devs don't even realize exist so I don't know what they are worried about.
In any case they do not represent the vast majority of players but are rather a small and very vocal minority that nevertheless probably have the power to make the Devs pull their hair out in frustration with their apparent expectations of perfection or near perfection from a video game.

This seems to ring true, regarding the "angry" posts I have read so far.

Or, it could be that VS was "almost a pretty good power" with it taking the recharge from the caster, however, now its another power from electric to NOT take....unless it gets coded to...
1) fly in and explode on targets at the end of its life.
or
2) Stack with itself (ie. have multiple out)
or
3) gets another attack so its constantly firing
or
4) gets its end cost dramatically reduced.
or
5) gets its "life" extended by at least another minute, if not more. -

It would make so much more sense if we simply were allowed to slot any power with any kind of enhancement.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it actually wouldn't. Some powers would see no benefit from certain enhancements even if you could slot it. What do you imagine an end mod enhancements would do to improve Gun Drone? Oh wait...nothing!
Now I have jumped on the devs myself when they have done things that I don't agree with. Repeatedly.
I am honestly having trouble though, with the 'huge number' of people who suddenly find that -recharge was the only thing making their pets worth a damn.
If pets NEED that type of boost to be effective, then there is something wrong with the pet...period. If Gun Drone is 'useless' without a -recharge to its attack and LS is laughable without a -recharge to its attack and VS is also similarly useless, then these things need a buff. Especially since that -recharge buff was a side effect of something introduced to the game that wasn't initially meant to happen.
When someone comes and posts about how they are shelving all their storm toons because suddenly, they are broken and worthless, its silly.
[/ QUOTE ]
What is really silly is that a tier 9 power is totally subpar to others when it is not properly enhanced, including -recharge among others.
While at the same time some other powers that are right out of the box awesome ( like MindLink ) can still get even better because they keep their "sneak -recharge IO slotting" untouched.
Silly indeed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe what's silly is that people have a preconceived notion of what a power is supposed to do and don't look at the context of the power and the set it is in.
Lightning Storm is a compliment to the other powers in the Storm Summoning set. Its still a power for defenders, controllers and corruptors. I highly doubt its purpose was to be a stand-alone mini-blaster. It does AoE knockback and some damage. When used with the rest of the storm powers...its hardly subpar.
VS and Gun Drone, and this is just my opinion, both need a second attack or utility function to round them out. That does not mean that they should inherit recharge to attacks from the caster or IO sets.
Yes, I understand that some people will be affected, but I don't think they are affected to the degree where the toon is so much less effective, that they need to shelve it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its not that people will shelve them because they are much less effective, people are disgruntled because they can see "weaker" sets getting weaker. We dont have fire/kins in here complaining because quite frankly fire/imps is not where they get their damage from, the majority of that is from hotfeet, but poo man from earth control however needs all the DPS he can get Jack frost too (yeah yeah this magical fix will resolve all AI issues they would ahve us beleive but people on test are not reporting this)
VS and Gun Drone are just insulting powers in their current state even with their current "game breaking" ability to recycle their attacks faster. The cost to summon these is 26 end per minute which is rediculous, to put it in context if the crappy patron epic pets were on the same cost to existence ratio they would cost 104 end per summon, so you would need an accolade before even being able to summon it and these are powers in primary and secondary sets.
Many other summmons cost 26 end but not per 60 seconds, we have
Dark Extraction
Phantom Army
All patron pets
Dark servant
Fire imps
Phantasm
Fly trap
and probably more, all with longer durations, ranging from 200 seconds (dark extraction i beleive you can still get multiples of them out as well) to perma. I dont think anyones asking for GD and VS to be perma but even if they were it wouldnt make much of a difference as they still recycle the one crappy attack as opposed to the much better "pets" listed above and I never ever thought I would be calling a patron pet better than anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree here, the cost of this power should be brought down significantly or the length of its life extened.
OR....
one more option....
For those who played GodofWar 2...the "Voltaic Sentinals" in that game, at the end of thier life would explode doing damage...
So if when its life was almost over, the VS zeroed in on the nearest target and went suicide-bombed that target (sort of like Photon Morons). Then keeping the current life and end cost would be fine.
Since I doubt that will ever happen, I think that extending its life would be the best option for balance. Make the thing live for 3 minutes, have the base recharge at 3 minutes, that way itÂ’s rare for people to have more than one out at a time.
Another option, would be to give VS "ball lightning" with the same recharge as its other single shot attack. That would almost make the power worth it.

Your comments are summed up perfectly there, you seem to be accusing people of taking advantage of a "loophole" which is farcical, this has been the status quo for 7 issues and certainly known about within the dev team (but not by the majority of players) People will have become used to however this effects their damage output and this will unfairly effect many players.
[/ QUOTE ]
K.... and in my counterargument I will compare granite armor to pff to make my point that I should be able to attack through the pff... because that to me was the way you were going.
And since i5?Like before Io's, villains, and such? What the hell does the KTF have to do with anything?
And as much as you would like to believe that large groups of people were using (hamis?) to get past the recharge of gun drones and Vs I can pretty much assure you that that is not true.
And people got used to it? People got used to the smoke grenade fix, mag 100 protection in Acro, and a number of things.... what is your point exactly? Oh yes, if people get used to something it should stay that way forever.
[ QUOTE ]
What I find galling though is sub par powers are being held up as examples of specifics that need this "nerf" VS and Gun Drone, without any lip service whatsoever of "if we find this affects said power too negatively we will look at what we can do to improve it" That line alone would have shut up 90% of people annoyed at this change, we cannot expect that as a given as player powers have remained broken and unchanged for years previously.
[/ QUOTE ]
They are being held up as examples of what it is supposed to do and what it is actually doing? I just thought he chose them because they were the clearest examples (ie only one attack) of the problem... and not because they were overpowered (a shark that seems to be jumped alot in this thread).....
[ QUOTE ]
This is just another nerf that they tried to pass off as a buff "yeah yeah it will fix retarded pet ai....maybe....perhaps....in one pet....."
[/ QUOTE ]
From the little I know of coding it is pretty much impossible to tell whether or not a bug will be fixed until after you do the change... more so in more complex systems. From my (very little) experience it tends to be trial and error until you solve the problem. As much as you would like for them to leave certain aspects untouched while they try to fix negative aspects... I'm pretty sure that is impossible/very hard to do.
[ QUOTE ]
and "but dont worry, your pets wont be able to be speed DEBUFFED either..... you know all those rampaging mobs that -recharge debuff your pets.....well ok theres hardly any.....

You mean besides the 5th column, arachnoids, Arachnos (soldiers, widows, fortunatas, Tarantulas, the robots), banished parthenon, Cabal, Carnival of shadows, Circle of thorns, Coralax, Council, Crey, Devoured Earth, Freakshow, Knives of artemis, longbow, The lost, Malta, Outcasts, Paragon Police Department, Paragon protectors, Psychic Clockwork, Rikti, Soldiers of Ruluruu, Tsoo, Vahzilok, Vanguard, Winter hord, and Wyvern?

Don't forget the Sky Raiders machete that slows too.
And Nictus. -
OK.... so can you have multiple factions in a mission.
I.E. a war started between the Malta and the Pretorians or something. With some of say Battle Maiden's group and some of Dominatrixes group, and the Malta

Subjective:
Overall, I like the Merit System. It's a decent way to build up credits to get decent rewards. In fact there's only one minor issue I have with it at all:
Lusca.
I can understand the other GMs awarding two, but Lusca? Lusca isn't a normal Giant Monster. It's NINE. Technically eight if you count the fact that the head doen't attack at all. Lusca requires much more time and effort to bring down than any other Giant Monster, so why does it give the same rewards? Each tentacle should be worth a single Merit on it's own, since you have to take down at least 6 of them in order to defeat the thing.
I say give Merits to the tentacles instead of just granting more to defeating the head, because that way if a group decides to take out more than just the required 6 tentacles, they at least get some extra reward for their effort.
[/ QUOTE ]
OMG Right... whenever I start a Lusca fight, I advertise it as a "LUSCA RAID" I've done this ever since ISSUE 6!
Why? Cause it takes so damn long.
Also what's up with hammi not having more merits seriously thats like hmm mitos plus the nucleous x3....yeh his reward...not acceptable.
On the subject of hamido, the end reward of the Lady Grey TF/SF is also unacceptable, and does not take into account the weakened hamidon defeat which can be rather lenghty if youdon't have "just the right" team! -

I've been busy redoing my base since I-13 hit. I still have lots to go, and yesterday it was time to work on my Trophy Room. While I was doing it I thought I needed a centerpiece of sorts, something big. Batman always has that giant robotic T-Rex in his trophy room. So I wanted something showy and big.
I stopped doing my trophy room for a bit, pondered, and had an idea. This was it:
Giant Robot 1
Giant Robot 2
Giant Robot 3
And I just had to sit on his shoulder.
I tried my best to use mostly tech items. My plan was to create something along the lines of the Iron Giant. Something looking like a toy robot built from various items and equipment. I also built him to be as tall as I can, using the lowest floor and the highest ceiling.
For concept, I'm thinking he's basically a robot made up of various equipment and parts, built by magic and is held together by it, kinda like a golem. And the usual, hero-stops-giant-golem-toy-robot, beats bad guy, and hero reprograms robot, deactivates it, and brings it home.
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL, that kicks @$$.
Nice job!
