Where's Metabolism Man when you need him? G'luck, Noire!

I'm one of the laziest marketeers you will ever meet. I know what salvage vendors for, I typically put it on market at that price +10% without even bothering to check the current market. I check market prices for recipes before I vendor them, but most times it's simply a formality -- the market price on a recipe I'm likely to find is a tiny fraction of its vendor price, meaning nobody else wanted this recipe any more than I did. I do this redside. I do this blueside. What invariably happens is that redside, I arrive at lvl 22 looking to upgrade to SOs with 400k to spend, and blueside I arrive at level 22 with two million to spend. Trying to slot SO enhancements and beyond redside reminds me of blueside before they introduced the market. I'm trying to slog it out, figuring if I can push one cash cow through redside it'll make all my other villains easier, but frankly I don't care that much about playing villains. I'd rather play a hero, AND the game is more fun.

I just don't get wanting more zones, and I don't see it as a "you don't have to use it if you don't want" sort of deal, either. New contacts would be introduced, exploration badges and plaques would come in, which would end up tied to accolades, arcs would start having missions in the new zones. The new zones would start creeping into the things you can already do without them. Why would I want that?

Spellchecker? Only if we run the character names through it first.

Mmm. If people are going to be rating my arcs based on the degree of difficulty, I may be the all time champion of suck. I'm mostly interested in the story-telling.
-
First one of you writes a mission with a boss named "The Boss", I am going to hunt you down.
-
Not positive, but I don't think you could use the same name.
-
Astro, I PuG regularly. If there were badges for jokes that bombed, I'd have all three of them on all my toons. I can't wait to try this anyway, knowing I'll have done well if more people finish my arcs than drop.
My ratings figure to go something like this:
1 star -- Start over. This one isn't going to make it
2 star -- The good stuff in here is worth editing to make it more playable
3 star -- Playable storyline, enjoyable
4 star -- Good story, good pace, challenging, very enjoyable
5 star -- I'm looking for people who haven't played this arc yet so I can drag them along on my next run -
How about two minutes? Starting a mission someone else writes is like paying the price of admission. You see a movie, someone asks what you thought of it, you tell them. If you tell them, "I got up and left DURING the opening credits" that doesn't exactly sell tickets to that movie, does it?

They're monsters. They don't have to have fashion sense.

Rikti portals were originally designed to give exp when they were defeated. On review the devs decided the exp should come from defeating the Rikti who summons the portal, and not the portal itself primarily so you don't lose exp by doing what any sensible person would do -- drop that particular Rikti before he has a chance to open the portal. I don't remember exactly, but I think the total amount of experience awarded for the portal and summoner combined decreased, since the increase in the exp for the Rikti wasn't as much as had been awarded previously for the portal. I don't remember this being described as an exploit when they changed it, but I'm not particularly sensitive to the word, either, so I may have forgotten. I do remember a number of people posting that they liked it the way it was, and equally many saying the new approach made better sense.

I don't remember if this has been answered. I much prefer to publish under a pseudonym, or anonymously. I do not want my in-game friends looking for my material and playing it, just because it's got my sig. At the same time if an author publishes an arc, I really do want to be able to flag that author for "find me more by this guy" or "please do not ever let me see another one of these again". What name will be showing up on our published arcs?
-
I think one reason I disagree with some posters is that I don't see the Hall of Fame as a way to get around the limit of three published arcs. If you want your arcs to have a good chance of getting elected to the Hall of Fame so you'll have more room to write, we do not see HoF the same way. An arc should get voted into the Hall of Fame because it is exceptionally well written, and for no other reason.
Want to post your fourth arc? Pull one of the first three. You've still got the file, you can rotate as many arcs as you like, but only three can be published at the same time. -
I disagree, Cyber_naut. This aint a storytelling workshop. If I publish one of my arcs, I expect it to get ripped. Every arc deserves a 1-star rating unless and until it proves otherwise. If you drop five minutes into the first mission, I obviously failed to prove anything.

The reader never owes it to the author to finish the book. The author owes it to the reader to keep them up till three in the morning because they can't put the book down. I've had books I never finished, that I am perfectly willing to dismiss as trash. I've walked out on movies as early as fifteen minutes in. If you ask, I can tell you why I set the book aside and moved on, but I don't owe it to the author to finish the work just to make sure it doesn't get better. If your story can't glue the reader to the page they leave dissatisfied, and your reputation suffers for it -- quite rightly, since you have offered to entertain them, and failed.

OK, they first mentioned this months ago, I outlined my pure genius story arc idea to a friend in an e-mail, now I can't find the e-mail and am no longer a genius. Very sad. I guess I'll have to spew some mindless trash and hope people like it.

Currently we can save costumes for our regular characters, and load them when we begin a new toon if we really want all our characters to look the same. Will these saved costumes be portable to the MA, if some of us want to get started designing our armies of minions in advance?

"I have more than my share of alt-itis, and I need character slots too!" -- Ghost Falcon
Now the truth comes out! Ghost Falcon gives out missions on Peregrine Island because they were actually missions given to him, but he's too busy levelling his peacebringer to finish them himself. -
I don't even know what this is going to do, if anything, or how it would impact game-play for those who use it. I know a lot of people are reading this and hoping they'll get some very good in-game tools, and I hope they're right.

"I have a great idea for another costume, but so far I've only found the Back Alley Brawler gloves, the Statesman Mask and the Hamidon Costume."

They're done with Roger Clemens, Foxy. Maybe your senator has some free time to look into this.
