naw, they actually stated it was a mistake during the last DXP.... posi went on the boards and posted about it.
-
So did you guys lie to us when you said it was a bug last time?

you also have to understand that a few other market pvpers (like me) are storing enhancements in crafted form for the sake of volume (and keeping the same immediate profit on a per market slot basis).
salvage will crash a week or two after dxp. -
Elec/TA... Spamming Tesla Cage on blasters with end issues is lolzy.

Quote:i kind of agree.With free reactivation and dbl xp and gr pre buy all hitting, any thoughts to moving back this weeks thurs and sun matches to next week? If freedom dings red like it always does it could make it hard for people to get on and lag tastic for those who do..
i'd rather just pl this weekend and not have to do it again for 3 months... -
also, jimmay, quit while you're behind.
trying to out-troll hot heals is one of the world's most retarded endeavors. just stop. -

Quote:best of them all.Okay, I'll add my 2 cents.
-Blasters don't do damage unless they have glad jav procs, which are 1.8billion influence. If you are not divine and buy your influence, or farm for them extensively, you will get out-blasted by controllers. Also please re-add unresisted damage, make everything like the old bugged TK blast.
-Controllers are not damage, please revert the mez changes and make people other than criticalkat use bf's again, thanks.

Quote:taunt works by GET THE F OFF YOUR SR AND ROLL A REGIN SONThe combat log says Taunt is auto-hit but I suspect it's lying to me. I've heard the Taunt portion makes a ToHit roll, but the -Range portion (the part I'm interested in) is auto-hit. In finalizing my approach to Taunt, I need to know if this is accurate or not.

Quote:if you're getting droned it means one of the following is true:I don't believe the devs ever said that tp droning is a valid tactic (they also never denied it though)....but they did very clearly say that tp'ing someone into a spawn of NPC's to get kills is a valid tactic. In fact, valid isn't the word they used. They made it sound like it's not only valid, but actually a great idea and something they themselves would do.
And considering getting killed by NPC's gives debt while being droned doesn't (a case of something negative vs nothing negative), it's pretty safe to assume they are ok with that too.
If that's not enough proof for you, consider the fact that people have complained about it for YEARS. Literally 100% complaints and petitions about it have been ignored. 100%. So yes, they consider droning a valid tactic.
Case closed.
1) you're stupid and ran into one.
2) you're stupid and got close to the villain base when there was a villain sitting by the drone, and he tp'd you.
3) you're stupid and got herded into a drone/tp foe.
what do all of these things have in common?
oh yeah.. you're stupid.
also, clipping 5 villains/heroes with a wormhole into a drone is damn perfectly legitimate if camping a hiber is legitimate. from my point of view (i like to pretend all of you aren't people; just androids and programs built for my own personal enjoyment), under current zone rules it's an automatic kill. sending 5 people into drones at the same time, it's just 5 sequential automatic kills.

Quote:i drone you like every other day.Well I watched Vennetrix quite a bit of the time last night and his claims are not so far fetched. He was a great add to the team he was running and I watched him near solo a tank and scrapper using a pool and web nades trap setup. It was pretty sweet. He got other kills of note but these two I watched near the hero base were impressive. The tank is one of the more well built ones we see in the zone and he was defeated in less than 10 seconds with very little outside help. GG
I got sent to the hospital once on my main Corrupter over the nearly two hours I observed and played near him while he made, lets say a few more trips than I. From my vantage point I would have to say the SS / SJ combo was the superior escape travel setup in most of the situations I witnessed. He was suppressed a bit and spiked is what it looked like to me. As to be expected. But I am playing a Pain secondary and am a little more resilient to be fair.
However he did have some situations where he was able to hover out of range for many of the SS only users and got some lols out of me for his taunts and such. He did make good use of his Hover / TP setup quite a few times. He was able to make quite a few good escapes using invisibility or phase as he noted in his posts. I was able to make more escapes is all. Although they may have been gunning for him after some of his comments on here. Just to try and prove him wrong. I dont think they did.
I also observed how he attempted to pursue a few runners who either resisted the TP or he got a bad roll on it. I was not impressed much by the results of his pursuits. He did get ahead of the runner a few times but most escaped over the sustained pursuit. Pursuit with TP is a mixed bag. I will stick with my SS / SJ setup I think.
All in all, a very viable build but I still stand behind my earlier comments. I would not suggest this to a starting PVP player. I would suggest learning the ropes on a ranged toon but probably not that secondary to start with. That is not to say that I would never play a traps for PVP. I would think it will take much more practice, trial and error to refine the skill. A new player should start with something easier is my opinion.
Good work Vennetrix. Some of the later ire you are getting is because you really did well on that build last night.

Quote:it's not about damage.I know you probably don't want to share you're build with me, but I've tried building a mind/cold, and its so... tight. I cant possibly fit all that I want, what powers would I cut short on slotting with?
And someone told me a few weeks ago that mind/cold was pointless because there was too little damage, and too little -rech? Care to chime in?
i don't really like playing damage toons. i mean, i end up blasting a lot since i'm an acceptable lock, and dont do stupid **** too often, but unless you spend an exorbitant amount of money in procs, no cold will outdamage something like a dom or blaster.
things to consider:
confuse does not mess up mez spikes;
tk will take an emp out for a good 20 seconds;
heat loss will let you run tk without running out of end, even on a cheap build;
levitate is good against zone scrubs;
mesmerize with a placate proc will placate people even when they aren't targeting you;
benumb an emp, and disrupt = you may have more disruption potential than an ice/cold assuming a two emp team with AB/Thaw/SB.
all of this is theory-craft.
tell you in a few weeks if i win the heroside lottery or something, and can spec my thing. -
yeeeaaaah, i even tried to help you out vennanix, but you're way way bad.
i was wormholing people into mines only to find your dumb *** was out of range so they didn't go off. i was like "wtf is this retard kid doing, if you're gonna play a traps right, keep your mf traps working".
i pretty much spend 90% of my time doing kill-assists when i'm on my grav/fire... funny how you couldn't even be "assisted". -
Quote:yeah, you were on the right track with the first change.Couple other ideas I had....
Defiance 3.0 - Blaster damage is commensurate with the amount of endurance they have. Remove current buff blasters get from Defiance 2.0 including attacking while mezzed.
DMG Base <----> Potential Cap
END 0 <----> 100%
I think in this system, buffers aren't meaningless. I'm also on the bandwagon that there should be a cap on the amount of buff you can get though from external sources, and that the higher same type buff just trumps a preexisting weaker buff.
Defenders - Give Defenders Blaster Defiance 1.0. Since Defender damage is pretty bland. And everyone likes to go after the defender. This could help them out somewhat but not over power them.
DMG Cap <----> Base
HP 0 <----> 100%
Tanks(arena only) - The longer a tank stays alive or is not attacked the more damage they can do. So a timer(in background) or bar(for end user) continually increases a tanks damage potential(they would need to increase a tanks dmg modifier or cap to make this meaningful) and does not stop filling up until they are brought down to like 25% health.
Brutes -Reverse Fury in PvP. Start Brutes at full Fury, and the more damage they take reduce their damage potential.
All Melees - Increase travel speed by like 10% or Reduce Range travel speed by 10%
Maybe this can help solve the "only spike squishy syndrome" that we've had since day one in arena.
these are just bad. -
Quote:one of the best ideas i've seen yet.Hmmm.....
what if the devs added a conditional based upon damage mitigated by AS on a target effecting the overall out of hide time.
The more damage you do the longer you are out of hide ranging from say 10-16 secs....of course they would need to bring back old AS values....and bring sharks inline with other epic ranged attacks. -
