  1. I'll be hosting with my main, Maximillian. I'll clothe him in the proper attire though, instead of his trenchcoat and hat.

I've also had a thought, if we've only got three people doing interviews, could we do a 'round robin', so that we do a 'show' or an interview each, cycling through the three hosts?
  2. An instanced area like an Arena would also help to prevent random people passing by going "OMG n00b, you lookz like Jerri Spr1ng3r!11!!"
  3. This sounds like a great idea, and I have spare slots on both servers if no-one else suitable is found to be the host.

*starts "random" assasinations of rival host-a-likes*

I'm not really sure why you've picked fly, CJ, SJ and acrobatics. You wont be needing SJ or CJ (this not much at least) and acro will just drain your endurance without helping much if at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Leaping Pool at the end levels was mostly a gap-filler, as the picks seemed more useful than the rather pants options available from the Patron Pools.
  5. 1.) Ski Chalet - Originally, I thought it'd be a bit pants, but I was surprised by just how good a place it felt to RP in, and it felt natural, whilst also allowing Villains to show up as well.

2.) Galaxy Girl - Can't fault the original really, sure the IC reasoning faded over time, but I could find excuses to be there. Plus, it was easy to just go and speak to someone else if you needed to, rather than go through the aggravation of trying to find out *where* in Pocket D they are.

3.) Bases - Adds the full 'personal' touch to the RP environment, and bases can be altered to suit a particular need, with a bit of fudge, of course.

4.) IRC - Yes, my foray into IRC failed miserably due to finding my character rather boring in the end, but the start of a new universe in UGG and the ability to start afresh without some people around who were present at 616 GG was exhilirating.

5.) MSN - Not as useful as IRC, but allowed for a few quickly set-up RP sessions to happen.

And yes, Pocket D wouldn't even make a Top 100 locations list. I really can't stand the place as an RP venue.

I might see about building in Stealth, for the more normal enemies, as I had a feeling beforehand that the stacking probably wouldn't help against Rikti Drones etc. The last four powers were mianly gap-fillers anyway, as none of the Patron powers really seem that good for a Stalker.

    EM/SR Build

This is the first Stalker build I've attempted, and also the first Stalker, so critique is welcome for the build. It's based solely for PvE, hence why the Stealth pool has been left out, as I don't think I'll be needing it for the PvE side of the game.

(Also, Hero Builder went a bit funny at one point, so any weirdly-placed enhancements can be overlooked if I've missed them.)

I've got size 13 shoes. Max is much taller than me and has smaller shoes.

Indeed, I'm only a size 10. And my friend who's about the same height as Silver Weasel has size 15 feet.
  9. I think the results will always be skewed because of the number of early comics with male dominance, but looking at some of the most popular comics today, though it may be a 60/40 swing in favour of men, there's still instantly recognisable, strong-charactered and well-loved female characters, that are more well-known than some male characters, such as say Rogue, Storm, Mystique from the X-Men series, or Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Catwoman from the DC Universe.

Heck, throughout the X-Men comics, the theme was developed that things like sexism and racism were thought insignificant in comparison to the prejudices against mutants, and that in the end, differences between people shouldn't matter. Things have moved on significantly since the days of women merely being the hero's wife at home baking a pie.

Sure, there's always the fact men and women in comics tend to have more athletically-toned bodies than normal people. Well, duh they're superheroes, they train constantly, and are always fighting and picking up cargo trains, or stopping skyscrapers from falling over. They're in a constant state of exercise, and as such, they're going to look more athletically toned.

And as for the fact women tend to have slightly-larger-than-average breasts, have you seen the men? They practically have muscular ones. I remember there was a site that went into how physically deformed male comic book characters were in terms of muscles, and how women actually came better off, as all they had were larger breasts, which though potentially annoying, was nothing compared to the near-crippling injuries and symptoms the males should have. I'll see if I can dig it up.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I don't recall ever saying that - if it was true, then it would be a form of equality

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can have fully-clothed men and fully-clothed women in comics and in-game.

You can have spandexy half-naked men and spandexy half-naked women in comics and in-game too.

There's even been cases of fully-undressed characters of both sexes in mainstream comics. I'm not too sure about in-game, though Silver Weasel leaves little to the imagination.

It seems reasonably equal from where I'm standing.

Super heroines are sexy, busty women in skimpy outfits.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are they? Does that mean super heroes are all musclemen in spandex? Or were you just generalizing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

According to you in the past, yes.
  12. The split at the moment is intentional, so Pocket D2 will exist until the end of the christmas event. It's just there to help with server load in the area.

Normally, on the Atlas Park 2 front, AP2 is created when AP1 reaches a certain limit, and will exist until there's no-one in it. Everyone can see it, everyone can enter it. I think the highest it got to was AP6 a long time ago. The same goes for any zone.

  15. RE: Swissy - I'm someone who doesn't get much inspiration for artistic things involving writing/pictures, I'm generally a maker of music, which doesn't fit in with CoH/V and therefore can't be submitted on these boards.

RE: FFM - I'd hardly call the guide to making avatars a piece of outstanding creativity. The only reason I put it on this section of the forums was after asking Bridger where the most suitable location for it was.

    RE: Hoplite - Am not.

But lots of nominations are good for feeding the ego.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is a bad, bad thing to do

    [/ QUOTE ]

Feeding the ego is good, in moderation. The ego is the most 'well-rounded' part of our psyche, with the id being our inhibitions and super-ego being akin to hedonistic tendencies. Therefore, we need to receive praise for our efforts to stop us becoming too drawn towards the id and becoming inhibited against doing anything worthwhile at all, for fear of criticism and rejection.

Though of course, too much praise and celebration, and you head in the other direction, which is equally as bad. In this instance, I'm having a couple of weeks in a month, where I'm hoping people will nominate work that I've put a lot of effort into, the same as everyone else in the running at the moment. After this is over, I'm unlikely to stir up anything creative on these boards again for a long long time, if at all, so I'm aiming for an ego-jackpot to tide me over until I find another creative output elsewhere.

One quick side-note, I'm pretty sure Crey Pistol is not an Immobolise, it's a Hold. A crappy hold, but a hold none the less. That, or they've changed it in the past few months, as it's held things in place when I've used it in the past.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Where you say "held things in place", do you mean like "not running around but still shooting at me"? Because that's what the crey pistol does. It's basically a pathetic version of Chillblain with a 30 minute recharge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I mean as in proper-Held, no actions being taken by the target being Held. Apparently, my Pistol seems to have been bugged in the past. I'll try it out today though.

Like I said, I'm not going to lose easily here, and this is nothing compared to the election at college a couple of years back for Student Welfare Officer, that campaign had kazoos, and about 100 badges hand-made by me.

Also, I did nominate you remember, and you disapprove of my post!
  20. I would like to go, but unfortunately, you've picked the launch-day of the Nintendo Wii, which emans I'm not going to be playing with anything else for a few days.

On a serious note, Blackdove does have quite a bit more artistic talent than me though.

    P&P Role-Players

Currently, I only own two systems:

    -World of Darkness + Vampire:The Requiem sub-book

-WH40K: Inquisitor. Despite being primarily designed for tabletop miniatures, it's very easy to convert into a 'standard' P&P RPG.

I'm looking to expand my WoD collection, in the hope of running a game in the future, though it'll have the entry qualification of "No stupid goth-angst". If the CoH RPG ever gets released, I'll pick that up as well.

I'm the Secretary for the Committee of the Dundee University Roleplaying Society, so yeah, I'd say I still play P&P RPGS.

I'm currently involved in two games at the moment; Ex Machina, set in a cyberpunky future-world, where I'm playing a character who's basically Face from The A-Team, and Ars Magica, a game about wizards set in very-old times, not long after the fall of the Roman Empire., where I play a complete git of a Necromancer.
