Yeah the greyed out look is away from keyboard. Otherwise you cannot change your displayed name when someone's just looking at you.

In the CHAT box, you can choose the option to have "player personal colors" and that will make your chat box names appear in different shades. However, not the ones over their heads.

Enemies appear in orange, team mates in green, otherwise everyone is the same color.

I think it might be fun to see a nice render of it, artistically, but for playing - when they first announced the "removal" thing, my heart went cold. ... Because at least one of my characters has a backstory that they fell - so this now was something that I'd be seeing first hand. So every time the force walls power down, I just get the chills.

If you have "hero" or "villain" side events announcements listed in your chat channel (change it so you do!) you will see a purple announcement about what zone a Rikti raid is happening in. Every time a Lady Grey Task Force is completed successfully a random zone gets invaded. Sometimes you're there already, but sometimes you have to actually head there.

But if you're there when the announcement is made... you HEAR it happening. And then the air raid sirens.

It's spooky as hell.

Yes now is a great time to come back. Content is at an all time high with the AE and great storytelling through missions made by players, and if you've been gone since early COV... woah there is a LOT you've missed out on! A LOT!

More powers, more places, costumes costumes costumes... Plenty to do and see.

Yeah you can have pretty much as many COH game accounts as you'd like from one NC main login. However, the game accounts cannot have the same name nor login as each other, and you'd have to pay for both separately (or on the same card, but you'd be paying for BOTH).

I *hate* having to save those stupid lawyers. That and I wish there was a way to fork the progress of any of the earlier Rikti missions... no spoilers. But you know what I mean.

There was a mob of zombies standing *facing the other way* from us and we pretty much crept right up behind them, they never noticed us. Their perception is pretty zombie-like.

I'd run COH in vista if you've got it, or xp since it's actually supported, is that not a feature of 7? (not that I think it'd run xp, but vista?)

I just did the Terra arc again, after a long wait, and it was fun. Freakalympics is just the most awesome ending to a fun arc ever.

You know what I've noticed is a lot of the best arcs really still seem to be the oldest among them. The ones which are well-known, well-played, even though there might be a lot of "nothing" surrounding them (meaning: plenty of fluff missions, for all origins/contacts, except that ONE you really remember), rather than some of the newest ones in the revamped zones.

While the Faultline revamp certainly has made it a lot of fun, it still is one of those 'too short for its own good' feeling stories.

If he wasn't on an expired account of mine, I'd so run Icy Grip of the Bear through that...

That's right, you're NOT up to date on the story. I'd suggest go reading the issue update information on the main COH page, one by one, to find out why we still need the War Walls in-character.

We don't need a zoneless environment, it's way too bandwidth heavy already.

The problem is that the balance issues remain, along with the content issues. Without more powers available, yes, you'd want to slot slot slot but that would pretty much mean disaster in terms of balancing things.

There's no further content available, and I see no need for it... I'd rather have extremely rare recipe drops or something that would add a slot here and there, honestly. Or if they would just rearrange when you get those last couple powers - I'd rather have a continued stretch of every-other level, and then a number of slots each level after 45 or something.
