  1. I love those ideas purely because Crey is being depicted as "good" guys, trying to keep a good image with Paragon City's civilians and heroes while obviously they have ulterior motives to what they do that are more sinister.

Right now, Crey is just as obviously evil as Arachnos, but we're expected to believe they can possibly be considered as beneficial to society for some raisin. But that's another rant. Point it, good ideas. also love the zone events.
  2. Every time you ask for Illusions, the devs postpone releasing it for another two months.
  3. The Rulushin stuff kinda looks lame, to be honest.

That and it's another case of Ouroboros costume pieces. They use mostly everything else we get, but get a couple costume parts to make 'em stand out and everyone treats it like a huge deal. Never really understood that.

But I gotta agree with Zombie. I'd prefer Rularuu costume parts that look more otherwordly and strange, with a touch of the arcane, as opposed to just spikes covered in eye balls. In fact, judging from recent forum opinion on new costumes, I thought everyone was sick of the spikes and thorns on everything.

    'Cause it's a level 20-40 TF, not a level 45-50 TF.

Plus I'm pretty sure they're saving that whole "Another alien race invades" thing for the Coming Storm, yo.
  5. Pretty sure you gotta get the whole thing. I tried upgrading from XP to 7 and it told me that 7 can only upgrade Vista. But if someone a little more tech savvy can come in here to verify that'd be great.
  6. Well it's a good thing the new Dark Astoria will have street sweeping be a viable activity, then, right?
  7. Bam.

By the looks of things, they're using the fog more sparingly so that you can't see miles of the zone, but can still see the things around you. That and the zone itself looks pretty wicked.

*edit* Damn, beaten to the punch. Here are the missing pics, though, and a link to the post.

Have you seen the pics? It will be dark.

No offense, guys, but this is getting a little ridiculous.

oh waaaah... just because it cuts down on your xp/minute ratio. If you don't want to play in a world of varying areas and details then stay in the AE building. Without the fog and the ghosts DA won't be much different than any other zone.

I think the fog is great and don't have all that much trouble negotiating DA. I hope it stays.
    In other words

"lol @ having a different opinion than me"
  10. You sure the team leader didn't level up?
  11. Digging Dark Astoria and the Fire+Ice sets. Except for those awkward crystals jutting out from the costume parts. The costume designers really didn't stay faithful to how the concept art managed to make them look like they were actually part of the body.
  12. The reason why I think it won't have to do with the Well is because, for starters, the Well is all over Tyrant. All of it's attention would be focused on it's "Champion" during this time where he needs as much power as possible. That means anything the Well does would be for the Praetorian storyline, which is currently still ongoing somewhere else entirely.

My other reason being that, since we're going to be facing an actual god and not a god-like being, who else would be sent in to tackle such a powerful threat than an Incarnate? Thus, we've got Incarnate content. Doesn't need to involve the Well at all. We're just facing an Incarnate-level threat. Something worthy of facing down a level 50+.

The devs have said that they're sticking true to Dark Astoria's lore. I'm willing to give them the BotD and see them bust out something great that involves the Banished Pantheon and some nightmarish plot involving the god Mot.

All I've seen mention of toning down is the fog. According more thorough posts that aren't the OP, the lore and ghosts aren't being removed. Just because it's Incarnate doesn't mean it's all about the Well of Furies.

Both the CoT and DA needed updating. They both needed new textures and DA needed some actual content. But their core concept, the things that made them great, be it long robes or fog didn't need touching. So it's one thing to update the look or add some content but another thing to rip up the group or zone by its roots and change everything.
Keep in mind, the CoT weren't the only thing updated recently. Mercy Island had it's contacts, starting points, and what not revamped while AP was graphically redone. And I'd consider both to be large successes.

And to be honest, if DA is nothing without the fog, then maybe the zone does need a total revamp.
  15. Wasn't the ability to be a Loyalist thrown in last minute just to appease people who wanted to be bad, anyway? I remember talk that back in GR Beta everyone was gonna be Resistance, no matter what you're backstory.

That said, I wouldn't mind if they ever came out with some more strictly Loyalist content. But that'd mean that the Praetorian war would never reach a conclusion without the devs having to, in some way, tell the Loyalists or the Primals their side lost the conflict and will face the consequences of it. It's a lot easier to pull off with heroes vs. villains 'cause good vs. evil is a fight that will never end. But war is different.
  16. I'm a little curious about something. Folks are complaining that Dark Astoria doesn't need a revamp at all, but everything about it is just as low resolution and crappy looking as the rest of blueside. It also has absolutely nothing to do there is incredibly hard to navigate at times.

So I'm kinda confused, now. A lot of people wanted the devs to revamp the old instead of make new because of things like good lore, old graphics, dead zones, etc. But now that they're actually revamping Dark Astoria with better graphics, actual storylines which, as I understand it, have to do with the dark gods there and is tied to DA lore, and possibly zone events, everyone's complaining.

So which is it? Do we want the old updated or not? And can we at least wait 'til we see more of what the new DA has to offer before condemning it?

  19. The text for the filters in the Mission Architect UI are apparently bugged. Is this happening for anyone else? Here's a pic, by the way.

  20. Please remove that fog. DA was the worst zone to navigate in. You can easily make a creepy ghost-town-abandoned-city vibe without blinding the players.

It's not so much the patience thing as it is the devs like to introduce timed items in the market, and the schedule for VIPs getting their monthly stipend is so out of whack those points you were hoping you'd be able to use on those timed items will arrive too late.

That, and the fact that it shouldn't be too much to ask for to get these points and tokens regularly, or at the very least within a few days of the regular date. Not weeks like some folks are waiting.
  22. As long as you weren't god-moding, forcing other players to do certain things, or trying to actively disrupt and troll RP people really shouldn't get angry. If you were entirely IC and just acting as your character would act, then you're fine. Also, were they getting annoyed IC or OOC?

Just remember, some people can't disconnect IC from OOC, so when something annoying happens IC they'll take it seriously OOC. It gets ridiculous sometimes.
  23. I got the points today, but not my other stuff. And my billing date's around the 12th.
