There is, but not a lot of people are actually in there. In fact, I think I abandoned the channel after a while as we only had 5 or so members a night, and I can't remember the last time anyone actually said anything in there. If you were to create one, I'd join it though

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll keep an eye on the forum to see if a Controller SG gets started.
On a similar note how about a Rad only SG made up of Rad\* Defenders & */Rad Controllers.
I read an interesting thread on the American forum and the general concensus was that an all Rad team would be the ultimate, based around stacked AM.
Even at low level AM would be permenant and the damage massive not to mention the debuffs.
No need for the fitness pool, maybe not even a travel power if you're happy with running.
A case of the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts!
Any thoughts ?
[/ QUOTE ]Have experimented with a rad only corruptor team a bit, and with 6+ stacked AM's we completely wiped everything.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've done a /rad corruptor team, we were planning on doing it to be the first 8 level 40's when CoV went live but we got too addicted to PvP when we hit level 20 or so, and just hung around bloody bay while we got overtaken by others :P -

"a spert under pressure" as my dad used to say.
Actually dont really get it but still... Think "expert" is very subjective but was going on recent performance.
Its a pitty that people do seem to be trying to argue who the "best" pvp SG or teams are, (not aiming this at you).
As far as I see it these matches are all about having fun and learning more about teaming and what you can do. Would be a pitty if it ended up with RL competition.

P.S. Honestly though is there a way to read their posts? My French is very poor.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I'd say without doubt that the French teams that turn up to the PvP nights are the best PvP teams I've seen. Has anyone actually beat them yet?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, we beat them a couple of times. -

um someone mind posting the colours etc, cause im a illusion/empath troller.... sooo?

I'm going to whack up a revised raid guide in a few days. I'm going to be away tomorrow night and most of wednesdsay, so expect it up thursday at the latest. -
[ QUOTE ]
For the one time it's not monday, it's a sunday :/
Oh well, One day I'll get to a sucesful raid...
[/ QUOTE ]
Well if I run another one I'll put it on a different night, maybe even Friday. Problem is, lots of people go out at the weekend and we really need as many as we can get. -
Probably your troller, although leave your D3 in the zone in case we need you for a mass rez during the mito clearing

The downside of this seems to be that not many people really want to face them as the one sided battles take the fun out of PvP and unless you have a full team of PvP builds, you don't really have much of a chance.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, you need a team full of people with PvP SKILL. There is a difference between PvE skill and PvP skill. Builds have practically nothing to do with it.
[/ QUOTE ]
So you mean i can come up with a Claw/SR scrapper with Flutty, Jump Kick, 2 attacks from the primary and 3 powers from the secondary, filled with pool powers and have a chance against Chives and Seiche?
Good to know, I always thought that build would've been gimped for PvP and I had no chance.
[/ QUOTE ]
if u had PvP skill u wudnt pick those powers....he clearly meant primary/secondary powers, if u picked sensible powers there is no reason, behind a good player, why claws/sr couldnt do well, especially as claws is getting better soon
[/ QUOTE ]
If the skill really was _more_ important than the build, then I could pick _any_ build and slot my powers any way I want and be as effective as anyone else.
It was like that in the old Ultima Online, before Age of Shadows ruined it all: you could've picked any skills you wanted, but with the _skill_ you could've kept up with anyone else.
These days every MMOG is goin towards a play style where you have to pick the right toon or the right class, or the right powersets to be able to keep up in pvp, skill is far less important than the build..
Skill in chosing the build? Then it's _indeed_ about the build, the PvP skill is not seen in chosing powersets, but in how you play them and if they were really balanced even a Claw/SR could keep up with some other uber build like BS/Regen..
[/ QUOTE ]
If that is the case, how come I can beat a lot of MA/regens and yet Nightbringer wipes the floor with me every time? Most ice/nrg blasters I come across I can beat, but Captain Freon will quite happily walk all over me. I don't think I've ever lost to an elec/elec blaster apart from Plight Trawler. Why is this? Why do these people, with the same powersets as others, beat me day in and day out? Magic? -
So yeah, I'll get straight to it and say that there'll be a Hamidon Raid on the 2nd april (sunday). 7pm meetup in Eden outside the hive for an 8pm (hopefully) start. We'll go with the standard hold-based raid plan for now, and then maybe if it's successfull we'll move onto a weirder plan in the future. I'll post details for the targetter, tank etc closer to the time. I'm sure the raid guide is on the forums a couple of pages down, but if need be I can go and bump it for everyone.
So, who's in? -
There might even be a german team there on Monday, so it really will be international.
-
EM on anything but blasters doesn't drop toggles. It has stun, but you won't drop any toggles from anything with mez protection.

Hooray for pedantry! You're taking what I said out of context. Chives does so well because he knows what he's doing, he knows how to play the build he has to maximum effect. I play a gravity/empathy controller, which is anything but a PvP powerbuild and yet I do well in PvP. Why? -

Illusion by far. They contribute the most even if you are busy healing.
Spectral terror, phantom army and phantasm. They each add something and it wont take your time.

What he said. With Power Boost from the Primal Forces epic you can even heal more than empathy defenders. -

I would like to know how you have come to this assumption? A controller would beat a regen with no BFs in 30sec or less. Hell give em a full tray of BFs and the troller will win 9 outta 10 times.
[/ QUOTE ]
Interestingly I've never been beaten by a controller. Certainly not 1 on 1. On the other hand I've beaten quite a few which results in tossing your 9 wins out of 10 estimate straight out the window.
[/ QUOTE ]
Would you like to try? I'm quite happy to show you that I have plenty of damage; more than enough to kill most regen scrappers. It's just a matter of knowing when to make it appear that you're doing damage and when to actually try to do it. -
The disruptor pylon is a weird temp power you have to all use at the same time, with a huge activation time. The easiest thing to do in a base raid is go for the dimensional anchors, as the other stuff is way hard (with the exception of "touching" the item of power, since nobody has one we can't test that).

Sure, I'm in with Stygian, level 27 DM/regen scrap.

The only successful runs at this that I have heard of include at least one character with stealth and teleport friend.
[/ QUOTE ]
We've done it without stealth/TP before, but it was incredibly hard. -
Yeah, with whirlwind you can still move whilst firing off Full Auto (It actually looks like you're unloading an entire clip into the floor around you), but only the guys caught in the cone when you first fired will actually be hit by it.

This is what the flag bearer should have on him. Anything else than this scheme will open widnows for exploiting.

Ah, yeah, you're right. Otherwise he/she could just slap on PFF and stroll back to his/her base. Would mean that everybody gets addicted to kinetics there then!
