Is this true or not?
Yeah, with whirlwind you can still move whilst firing off Full Auto (It actually looks like you're unloading an entire clip into the floor around you), but only the guys caught in the cone when you first fired will actually be hit by it.
I reckon it'll be rooted no matter what. That much damage while you don't even move? Big advantage, too much of an advantage actually. If it was like this i'm sure it'd be fixed sometime soon.
Wow thanks for the very quick replies. As far as I know its been like this since beta for all rooting attacks and working as intended... hope so anyway.

No, Xanthus is right. All attacks are unrooted when Whirlwind is running.
Yes Xanthus is right, and the devs have done a lot to make attacks less "rooting". Radiation infection and darkest night are 2 examples. You used to be rooted during the whole animation. Now you're only rooted 1/3 of it.
A Paragon Defender
I suppose. Never notice the Whirlwind part, my bad ^^
Just come back to Co* but was wondering if this statement, "PvP-specific build or no PvP-specific build, you're still going to get rooted during the animation of Full-Auto - it's an unescapable part of the attack." is really completly true.
or does it not work on cones?
Thinking along the lines of speed pool here and WW.
Pretty much a pvp question as full-auto without root would be interesting. Can you use full-auto and SS your way to the other side of the map while your target is still taking damage
