SG missions

I'm in a SG that doesn't like the base raiding, but does like the prospect of SG missions.

Is it possible to do the missions, but not be open to Raids?
Are all (well, the few) missions geared towards an IoP?

Does owning an IoP open your base up to raids?
if so, what are the rules?
Do we have to accept every raid invite? Will raids just happen without warning?

Dunno about all the info but Im certain that the amount of missions available from the mission computer to my SG is currently

0

(hint to the devs, get the tf online and invent more SG missions)

Bleeping expensive deco item...

My Oracle claims that the Temple of Pain TF is available, but I'd need 26 players to pull it off... I wonder if it's ACTUALLY available, or just pretending to be?

Dunno.. we had one mission that we couldnt do because our mission computer experienced "internal error"..

Are you sure you don't mean the Cathedral of Pain? That's the IoP trial. It doesn't need 26 players...but you want quite a few.

1. Yes.

2. Rules? Well none really. Anything goes. But the aim is to destroy/block all 6 Anchors. Then steal the IoP. Probably with a bit of generator/control destruction along the way.

3. Once you have an IoP you have to set two (I think it's two) raid windows. During those windows your base can be raided once and only once. It happens whether you want it to or not. So make sure you set the window to a time when people in your SG are online.

Sg missions are an option.... although they're not active on CoH right now, please protest for more SG missions!!

The bases as they stand can be useful depending on your uses in-game, but they are geared towards PvP to some degree.

However, base raids are only compulsory IF you're defending an IoP. They CAN NOT be declined.

Before you have an IoP or base raid tp's etc, you can raid for fun (these type of raids can be declined) and no lasting damage takes places, everything is restored.

The IoP is open season on the owner, the current debate is, is it worth having one..... bonuses vs damage/cost on base....

IoP owning official raids, you get some warning that a raid will open on said date, you CAN NOT decline these. It's the SG's job to organise defence.

The 'play' raids can be declined.

Hope this helps, none of it is scripture only what I've read!

The 'play' raids are called instant raids, I believe.

I think the rules for capturing the IoP is:
You have to destroy dimensional anchors in enemy base (I don't remember was it all of them or just a few).
Then you need to use a temp power called 'disruptor pylon' on the IoP itself. It is built from salvage, 1 tech material and 1 tech power - can be built in all worktables.
I dont know if there is an arcane equivalent of disruptor pylon.

If you have IoP-qualified base, this should get the IoP for you.

The amount of attackers and defenders in base raid is capped to 16. The raid window is 2 hours long. You dont get to choose who is raiding you, nor do the attackers get to choose the target. The system decides that as long as there are SGs in the queue, I think...

EDIT: Since I havent done a single base raid myself, take this info with a grain of salt..

The disruptor pylon is a weird temp power you have to all use at the same time, with a huge activation time. The easiest thing to do in a base raid is go for the dimensional anchors, as the other stuff is way hard (with the exception of "touching" the item of power, since nobody has one we can't test that).

the mission computer is a salvage built extra item for the control room in SG base. Don't bother yet, the cathedral of pain seems as the only possible mission and its not available yet.

If you're playing on CoV, there is the Silver Mantis TF to do. On CoH, it DID appear as an option at one point but seems to have been removed entirely now.
